I purchased a washer on Feb 3,2021.
I did not purchase the extended warranty -1st mistake!
1 year later I am having issues with it and the main control board keeps going out. After the 1 year warranty. 13 months actually. I contacted GE and because I didn't have the warranty I had to have it looked at by a service person. This cost me 167.00. I was told main control board and that it would be 800.00 to repair it. I paid 699.00 for the washer. I called customer service again, was told they couldn't help me and to call another number and I did and the referred me back to customer service. I asked if I could get a coupon to help with the purchase of a new GE appliance and they said they don't do coupons and couldn't help out on anything. So my 14 month old washer is worthless and I can pay 800.00 to fix it or purchase a new one for the same price.
So I decided to go with a new appliance - different BRAND. I will no longer be purchasing GE products since this is the type of service they provide. Very disappointed. I have spent so much money purchasing their products to be treated like this is just poor service.
I purchased a GE oven, over the stove microwave and dishwasher in March 2020. It is now May and the handle on the microwave is peeling, the broiler element blew up (we did have it professionally installed) and the dishwasher has stopped working. I tried getting help from the GE tech but they repeat what is said in the manual and say call a repair person. I am so disappointed with these products and will never buy GE again lesson learned
GE Washer tub began to erode after a few months and dryer not working at all by the end of year 2!
I bought an electric range in January 2021. The top of the burners started to become discolored. I called several times and finally in December they sent one of their local techs to my home. The tech agreed that it was a defect and said he would order a new top to arrive in 2 to 3 weeks. Here we are and it's May 2022 and I'm still fighting with GE who now says that their techs looked at the pictures and have determined it is not a defect. Screw GE! I will never purchase from them ever again. Don't buy the extended warranty because they won't do anything even with that.
We had an appointment for service today 4/30/22 between 8-5. Last night GE sent a confirmation text that the tech, Tony, would arrive between 11:10 - 1:10. He called at 9:34 and left a 7 second voicemail with his name. I called backed at 9:35 and he wouldn't pick up. I left a message. At 9:45 GE left me another voice mail saying the tech tried twice to reach us and we would have to reschedule. He didn't pick up the call when I immediately called him back and he lied saying he called twice. And to add insult to injury, the call was to repair a GE dishwasher, purchased in 2017 that they no longer manufacture because it is of such poor quality, Do not buy GE products and don't waste your time setting up a service call when their techs obviously don't want to work on a Saturday.
I had to replace an advantium oven and the installation team was not willing to do. Have tried to connect to several departments including Customer Relation Support and the *******215 number simply loops into oblivion. I've spend thousand of dollars on GE and will not purchase this brand again!
You make an appointment, give them a model number, make, and the general problem conditions.
They say it'll be $109 for the service guy to come out to Diagnose the problem, That's the scam, there not there to Fix it. They come Without the general repair parts to fix that particular type appliance or machine, and make you pay another service call charge to come back to fix it "when the part comes in". Boom you've been scammed $109 for him to walk in in a uniform, and say he won't fix it til next week.
I purchased a GE washer and gas dryer combo. After having my last GE dryer for 15 years I decided it was time to update. The new set looks beautiful in my laundry room. I have had them both for just over a year now and both are working great. I had an issue with my dryer and even though I was just outside my warranty GE helped me and made it right. It was a simple fix, Turns out there was a wire had come disconnected and the dryer still works great. I have never had to deal with an appliance company and I was very thankful for the smooth process and the help GE offered me. I am impressed with the service I received.
Two window a/c units stopped working in 4.5 years. GE wouldn't work with me for even a discount on a third. Wanted me to pay it technician to service!
I bought the GE one piece washer/dryer because I had it in my old apartment, and its the perfect size, and it worked great. I have since returned it 3 x because the dryer makes black marks on my clothes. GE replaced it - but charged me $225 for the replacement. They swore the 2021 model was fixed. Not true! Same problem. I am looking for another brand but most of those don't have good reviews either!
This washer-dryer is horrible. It shakes when it spins dry, it wrinkles the clothes in the dryer, and it constantly puts flecks of black (?) on clothing as they dry - where they come from is a mystery.
I wish I'd read these reviews before buying GE,, but never again.
I waited 4 hours and 15 minutes on a G. E. repairman. I called customer service 15 minutes before the scheduled time ended, the man who answered the phone stated he would have the repairman call me. The repairman called 15 minutes after the scheduled time, with no apology stating I could re-schedule. I called customer service back and a woman answered the phone who was very short on customer service skills, tried to out-talk me, would not let me finish what I had to say, and hung up on me. A few days later, I called to get an appointment. The woman who answered the phone indicated that an appointment would not be soon.
I purchased a 48 inch side-by-side built-in GE monogram refrigerator, convection microwave, oven, dishwasher, and five burner induction cooktop. All have been extremely disappointing. I did not want the water/ice dispenser in my refrigerator door. Upon delivery, I immediately noticed that when I open the door to get ice from the ice bin, the ice would fall behind the bin and then drop out and scatter all over my kitchen floor. When I called GE to ask for a remedy, I was told that it wasn't designed to be used without the dispenser!? I asked "then why do you sell a version without the dispenser?" and was told "we really should not sell this model." The microwave takes much longer to heat food than my previous KitchenAid convection microwave. The biggest disappointment has been the dishwasher. It clogs with food residue and grease very quickly and must be disassembled and cleaned after every second use. My previous appliances were all KitchenAid and are far superior for less money. I would NOT recommend Monogram.
I purchased my dishwasher from Wayfair, and it was delivered on April 13,2019. I have my worry free service through PSEG and they came out 6 times with no success.
They recommended to contact GE, so I did. The tech came out made a slight adjustment however within 3 days it stopped working again. Tech cam back out and ordered parts, but they sent the wrong parts. I have been without a dishwasher since December 2021 and extremely upset and very disappointed.
Every time you call, you speak to another advocate, and they give very little help & support. They say they'll call you back, and they never do. Today I spoke with a supervisor, and she was no help. They offered new parts that will be available in July or a $355 towards a new dishwasher.
So I'll be spending another $500.00 out of pocket. I feel Ive have been shafted by GE and with no additional assistance.
So sad this s how they treat their customers. Below are the pictures of how the tech left the parts in my house.
Ge Farms oput their warranty work to companies that then send out repair people with no parts if they even make to appointment or reschedule. Once they determine what the problem is they have to get approval
From their office then from Ge and then takes another week to ten days to get the parts and then another week to get it repaired if they have the parts. Very poor system. Should not take a month for a very simple repair, The washer has a 5 year warranty but at this rate i will probably dispose of it in a year. Would not buy a GE product again.
Bought this dryer from Home depot waited a week then was delivered and box was ok unboxed it and found the handle was broken just simply snapped off from the door stuck on the other side of the locking mechanism. Called Home Depot got some stupid message that they were closed on weekends. Instead texted them got an agent explained the situation said he called ge to get replacement but they were apparently closed on a Saturday as well. Was told that Home Depot would have the problem handled on Monday waited until Wednesday No call back on status, no email on status, no text on status. So I called in finally got a competent guy and it called ge and said they are shipping out the part and will contact the appliance repair company.
Company was lake appliance repair. CA. They called 3 days later saying they had to cancel the repair because the part was yet to arrive ge shipped it the cheapest way they could so it took over a week to get to me. Then after getting the part, I find they sent the wrong one as to how they could have done that because I sent pictures and even my 8-year-old daughter could tell what part was broken the equivalent of incompetency like saying the hole door is broke because door handle fell off. Home Depot, they told me not their problem and somehow its past the 48-hour window they said they never had a record of me call despite that last guy I call told me was able to look up the phone call attempt and the text messages. (If they deleted this evidence this is conspiracy.) and that I had to call manufacture
(really HD sold me the unit?) waited on hold for 35 minutes from GE then GE said sorry not our problem you need to call the appliance repair company so I called 2 times waited on hold for the first call about 20 minutes until I got cut of then second call I waited on hold for about 40 minutes that it timed out saying I had to leave a message and still 2 days later not call no email no text 3 weeks without a dryer and spending $60+ a week for quarters at the public Laundromat not including the 3 hours of my time to do laundry which would come a to a total of $144 a week costing me. Its been three weeks and Neither GE or Lakeside appliance has attempted to help me.
Have owned GE ovens for decades and they have had a removable bottom piece that could be taken out and cleaned or foil could be placed on it for easy cleaning. Before using our new GE Monogram Built in Oven, we did what we always had done and put some foil on the bottom which baked in. The technician who finally came out told us that for the first time in years GE did away with the removal piece and now the oven is only one solid piece. He said the heating elements are right there and that's why the foil is baked on. He said there isn't anything we can do, he wouldn't use the self cleaning and using this oven at all is a potential HEALTH HAZARD because the aluminum could give off a gas.
Believe all the posted negative reviews about their Customer Service. Requires tremendous fortitude and time to even reach the right department and someone who may have authority (hope you don't have another full time job too). Initial representatives aren't from the right department-put you on hold and then you are disconnected. Say will call back but don't. GE also no longer includes the Monogram manual with the oven and when we finally reached a GE Monogram rep he stated that this isn't covered and it is the customer's responsibility "to affirmatively request a manual".
He was arrogant and rude but did say that for $2,059.95 we could buy another one. And they take Visa or Master Card.
Used to be made in USA but now China owned. Would not buy another GE product.
Bought a suite of appliances about 4 years ago. Last year the dishwasher went kaput and we had to buy another one (this time a Maytag). We had the repair out 3 times before we just gave up and had to get a new one. Now the microwave won't work. I would assume it won't be long before the refrigerator goes also. We take pride in our purchases and take good care of them with only two of us in the household. For the price we paid, these appliances should work long than 4 years. Shame on you for producing inferior products. Will not buy another GE product.
Delivery guys were to lazy to take doors off of my refrigerator to haul away and bring my new refrigerator. Now I'm inconvenienced and have to wait longer for my next delivery.
Moved into a new build with all GE. Figured what could go wrong? Come to find out GE appliances is no longer owned by GE and this the absolute horrendous drop in quality finally made sense. All my Appliances have rust on them, dishwasher components are falling apart and one of the wheels came off and melted in the dishwasher. Microwave is trash. Ido where to even start how I'm going to resolve this before the warranty runs out in 4 months because GE appliance does not respond to anything. They need to fail and quickly,
Answer: SCAM! $800 EXPEND IN LESS THEM 4 YEARS AFTER MOVE IN A NEW HOME WITH GE APPLIANCES-GARB COMPACTER, ICE MAKER AND NOW, THE WATER FILTER HEAD... PURE SCAM... PRODUCTS ARE MADE TO BREAK!
Answer: Yes. I have repeatedly experienced this problem for the past 5 years on my 5 year old GE Refrigerator. Using your fist or a mallet, strongly tap on the fan's surround to break ice free. It will quiet down. However, a quality appliance would not require this type of user intervention. If it makes you feel better, I built a new house with all new GE appliances ( because we liked the slate color) and every single one has issues and has been a profound disappointment. NEVER NEVER NEVER buy GE. We learned the hard way.
Answer: I sure would entertain joining such an endeavor! They deserve to get a kick in the ass if you ask me.
