This eating experience has been the best! The meals are very tasty, fresh and easy to prepare! Microwave for 1 to 2 minute's! It's as if you're eating in a nice restaurant! And did I mention... they're good for you!
We are a family of 2, my husband and I, and needed an alternative to cooking for just two We have been very happy with the alternative of ordering meals for two, and not worrying about "who's cooking dinner" every night. We've got one or two grandkids to take care of 2-3 days a week, while the kids finish their education, and were not eating properly after a hard day with 3 and 6 year olds.
Ramon was the best in helping me resolve an issue with our billing and why one of my Living Social coupon(s) for the promo wasn't anywhere. With Ramon's help, we straightened it out, and all is good.
BTW, we LOVE the food! It's healthy, filling and just what we were looking for.

The meals are fresh, don't taste like they are loaded with sodium or are overly processed. Portions are a little lean, but I guess that is part of the point. I have had a hard time changing my delivery day on the website. But they do have good customer service reps, so it's all been taken care of.
My experience with Freshly has been amazing! It has saved me great amount of time and money. The food is healthy and delicious. I have recommended Freshly to many family, friends, and colleagues.
I'm a 7.8 on the serious SFBayArea foodie scale. My credentials: customer of Chez Panisse and other good restuaurants around here. Have some fine chef friends. I'm a pretty good cook myself. I ordered an introduction package of 5 dinners from Freshly to see what the food was like out of curiosity, even though I knew I wouldn't keep the subscription because I'm retired and I like to cook.
I just ate the last half of my last meal from Freshly. It was chicken parmigiana and it was quite good, with a side of pasta w/ tomatoe sauce that was also very good. It was enuf for 2 meals for me.
My other meals were chicken w/ almond crust that came on a bed of mushroom risotto with side of broccoli. That was a favorite. There was the salmon w/ lime coconut sauce. Good. There was a pork chop in a mustard sauce with side of roasted root vegies. Not my favorite, although certainly adequate. And a cod filet with a really good tomato sauce w/ kalamata olives in it.
I think over all it's a good service. The food is interesting, tasty, and satisfying, although not organic. If I was still working I think I'd order regularly.
Actually, I'll probably order it again because they generously offered me a coupon after I submitted this review to their comment page unbidden.

Because of Freshly, I was able to eat nutritiously, ethically...& save energy.
Honestly, I can't find the words to describe the impact Freshly has had on my health & life, over the past few years.
I found Freshly through Living Social and LOVE it! I have a crazy work schedule that often doesn't provide me the time to prepare food when I get home. Freshly has saved me from myself, by making it easier to go home and eat a Freshly meal, rather than buzzing through another fast food joint. I also bring them for lunch - and every day get to hear my coworkers ask - Ooooh - what do you have today?
My husband and I both signed up for Freshly. It sounded fantastic. Healthy prepared meals, beautiful presentation, on point with nutritional value. Great!
Husband did the Freshly Fit. He loved it. However, he said it was getting too repetitive with the selection of meals. There needs to be more variety.
I signed up for the Freshly 12. Again, loved it but it too got too repetitive.
We both loved the breakfast omelettes (blt, denver, green chile). The garden one and grecian fritatta were not so good. Same goes for the yogurt & berries.
Loved loved loved the salmon dishes! As well as the turkey chili, turkey lasagna, chicken with risotto. The almond crusted chicken was not wonderful but still good.
We both agreed the seasoning on every single dish, whether we liked it or not was perfect. Well done chefs!
We will continue to use freshly 12 probably 2x per month. Mostly for the breakfast omelettes and our other favorite dishes. My husband has lost the weight he wanted to.
Easy to use. Excellent tasting healthy food service with a wide variety of food options and at a reasonable price. Hard to beat what Freshly offers
I really like how convenient Freshly is. It saves my cooking time and so easy to order. The food is healthy and most of them taste great, and I like that they change menus every season (Always looking forward to see new options).
The only thing that bothers me is 70% of the time the taste and the texture of the food are not consistent.
I would still continue to be a customer and will recommend others. But I really wish they can be more consistent with the food!

Great meals delivered directly to my elderly mom's door! She loves them. It helps me to be sure she is eating properly! She enjoys seeing the federal express delivery person and feels she's getting spa food!
It gives me a smile every time to see the Freshly box arrive at our front door knowing perfectly prepared fresh food is inside. The food arrives in perfect condition. The meals are all pre-cooked and individually packaged in microwave safe containers. Two minutes is the norm to heat the food. The quality of the food is AMAZING! Much better than anything else I have tried. Another great thing about Freshly is being able to read the simple wholesome ingredients list! Freshly's name says it all. You will be very happy you tried them.
My eating habits had become very poor due to a lack of being able to purchase enough variety in small servings of healthy food options at the grocery store. When single people shop at the grocery store it is very hard to purchase variety because it comes in a greater volume than a single person can consume in a week. Much of what is purchased goes bad and must be thrown away, a huge waste of money and food. Freshly solves this problem for the single person! The meal portions taste great, are well prepared, with enough protein and vegetables that make me feel full and satisfied all day, and I can go without snacking for days at a time. I was so surprised. Initially I tried the 21 meal plan, to taste all the meals and decide which ones I preferred. Then I changed my plan to the 12 meal plan as I found out I didn't personally need all 21 meals in a week, I only wanted a few breakfasts and then a few lunches and a dinner for each day. While the current cost is about $10 per meal delivered, which sounds high, I am saving money at the grocery store, while still being able to supplement fresh fruit and veggies for juicing and snacking. Another advantage is not having to run to the grocery store 3 times per week. I'm saving time and eating better with Freshly. Before I started this plan I was having joint pain and digestive issues, these I have found for me are related to lack of protein in my diet. I don't have these problems anymore, after a couple of months of using this service. They deliver on time, never missed a shipment, and their delivery calendar can be adjusted to skip weeks as needed easily. I have decided that I use this service about every other week now, but in some months I use Freshly for 3 weeks out of the month. The only downside is the menu does not change frequently enough. Perhaps when they grow to greater service areas, the menu will be updated with different options more frequently. I'm glad I found their advertisement on Facebook and tried Freshly. I have recommended this service to other singles that have asked me how to deal with their grocery store budget problem. It has solved my single-person-problem cost effectively and made my life a lot simpler and my body feels better. Thanks Freshly!
One of the surprising aspects I have discovered about my Freshly meals is the fact that they leave me totally satisfied--not wanting more. It isn't just the volume, but the flavor combinations that I feel lead to this result. I have occasionally tried other meals (if out of town or skipped a week), but they never seem to satisfy me like the meals from Freshly.
I've tried a few different fresh meal providers before I found Freshly and I couldn't be happier with the meals and the customer service I've received in the past 5 months I've been using them.
Here's a quick breakdown of what I like about them:
- Their online interface is extremely convenient to use and switch meals or even skip your delivery.
- They communicate well and remind you of meal change deadlines well in advance.
- The food itself is the most delicious I've had (and high protein & relatively low carb).
- They have nutritional breakdown of their meals (great for counting calories and macros)
- I've had to contact customer service for some issues and they promptly addressed the issue to a very satisfactory result for me.
- It's good value. Since I don't cook, the meals end up less than what I would pay for to-go food.
So far I've tried four meals. The only one that wasn't completely over-seasoned and gross was the turkey chili. Too bad—this was a great concept.

This food NOT Fresh... it is old and the proteins are tough. Seems the sides are COOKED TO DEATH so obviously no nutrients could be left in them... very disappointed. I tried several meals and some had ingredients that were not listed, ie. Instead of brocolli and carrots they changed to cabbage, mushrooms and green beans (no, those do NOT go together well) I contacted customer service but they had nonsense answers... like, oh, that's our new menu... the ingredients listed aren't what are in those meals but they aren't listed anywhere... I think I will let them get the "bugs" (not literally) out before I try them again.

We will either remove an item and replace with something new, update the recipe on a current item or just add an item without removing one. As we continue to grow we will have plans to offer even more variety as well!

However, you can select to skip weeks, or cancel your subscription at anytime! These changes would just need to be made prior to your weekly deadline, which is outlined in your Welcome Email, Reminder Emails, and in your Meal Planner. I hope this helps!
Answer: Our meals are prepared and shipped out from our kitchen in Phoenix.:-) For Arizona deliveries we use FedEx.
Answer: The delivery window they give us is between 9am and 9pm. We package the meals to be safe for 2 days transit time, plus safe to sit outside for up to 12 hours upon delivery.:-)
Answer: Hi Nancy! We do not cook meals based on other programs' guidelines at this time. We're not overly concerned with calorie counts, but more concerned with where calories come from. Our meals are generally high protein, high healthy fat, low carb, low sugar. We use unprocessed ingredients free from hormones or added sugars, and never use chemical preservatives. Just keep in mind that our meals have a shelf life of about 5 days unless frozen. 3 - Pick your delivery day from the available dates! The specific day of the week will be your weekly delivery day unless changed. 4 - Select your delicious meals from our 30+ selections. 5 - Add your contact info, payment details, and delivery address.

You can certainly reheat our meals in a conventional oven, however, our current meal containers are not safe for the oven or stove-top, so you'll have to transfer your food to heat it up. First, preheat your oven to 350° F. Transfer your food to an oven-safe dish (don't forget to scrape the sauce out of the tray!) and cover the top in tin foil. Heat for 25-35 minutes, remove foil, and let sit 3-5 minutes, then transfer to your choice of plate or bowl and enjoy! (Keep in mind, heating times are approximate. You'll want to reheat the meal to an inner temperature of 165° F.)

We can deliver Tuesday-Saturday in Southern Illinois--deliveries can occur between 8am-9pm depending on the carriers route for the day. While carrier delays are out of the norm, weather-related issues, road closures, driver confusion, etc. can wreak havoc. We have a dedicated delivery team that works directly with our carriers to ensure successful deliveries, and we're always sure to compensate when delays arise. We certainly hope this helps! Answer: I've been getting mine in on time, but I assume as with all packages going through USPS, UPS, and FedEx right now, things have been backed up since COVID and only getting worse. So it's not Freshly's fault even if they aren't delivered on time.
