Food taste really good, Big portions! Arrived in time
I didn't even realize the high sodium levels until I introduced my Mom to Freshly. My jaw literally dropped. That being said, the food is so so. Some are definitely tastier than others. One of my orders was delivered frozen. It took over a day in the fridge to defrost. Cook times were increased which made for extremely rubbery omelets. My favorite is the Coconut salmon with kale and bokchoy. I just received my order of 9 meals and I included some new ones that I haven't tried yet. So far I have lost a few pounds but I walk 10 miles a day. I'm assuming if the sodium levels weren't so extreme I may have better results. There was one dish that was 100% indelible. I can't remember the name because I threw it away so quickly but it was a chicken dish. All in all, 3 stars is fair. I'm going to finish up my last 9 meals meals and see if I will order again. The sodium just kills it for me.
My husband and I work long hours. Freshly has become a welcome part of our lives. We look forward to our weekly Tuesday delivery and not having to worry about what's for dinner the rest of the week. We actually save money with Freshly, dining in instead of out. The portions are ample and absolutely delicious.
It is awkward to navigate and difficult to change orders to plan ahead on shipments. Some weeks, I would like skip. In fact that option is only available on my desktop and not my mobile.
I'm glad we were able to get this taken care of! :D Apologies again for the website issues--we're very anxious to get the new My Account page up & running for our customers!
I am just finishing my first week of the Fit plan so I've had about 18 meals so far, all delicious, totally filling (too much in some cases), fabulous variety and between 350 - 500 calories each (with a few outliers). I initially signed up for the Fit plan because I couldn't get out of my holiday/vacation eating mindset and needed to get back to 3 healthy meals a day - this has been the perfect kick start. I just downgraded to "12 meals a week" plan only because I'm going to be eating out a few times this week and I'm going to try to save a few more calories by eating a lighter breakfast or protein shake, but I may return to the Fit plan because it's gone so well this week. Freshly had just changed their packaging the week I started so it was nice to see a change from styrofoam and bulky ice packs to all biodegradable, recyclable and water soluble packing products. My only grievance is that it is nearly impossible to remove the plastic top from the tray (like you would on a normal frozen or pre-packaged vacuum sealed meal), not a big deal at all, but just means I have to have a knife handy to cut it away from the container and I usually get a little sauce on my fingers in the process. Very pleased, hope it continues!
After I received my box, my first thought was, eh fresh, frozen - I could buy frozen food at the store. No no no no!... HUGE difference... every meal I've had has been deeeelicious and filling. All I need to add is a green salad and dessert. This kind of food you are not going to find at the supermarket, I've tried. I feel they gave me their best. I'm definitely a permanent customer now.
I was very excited to receive my first order which was scheduled for Friday January 29th. I waited all day and was very frustrated by 6 pm when my order
Had NOT arrived. I made dinner for my son and husband, and at 7 pm STILL
NO FRESHLY FOOD! Around 7:20pm I thought I heard a truck in the front yard, but no one rang the door bell or knocked on the door so I went on with my business. My husband had me check on the front porch for our package and there it was, at 7:30 I found it, too late to eat and ON TRAC never let us know they delivered it until I checked my email. They should at least ring the door bell,
Like UPS does even if no signature is required. Just a suggestion for the future.
Hello Caroline--we're very sorry to hear that you were inconvenienced! Both carriers that we use (OnTrac and FedEx) will leave packages without a signature required and while some drivers may knock or ring a doorbell, most just leave the package. They both also give us a delivery window of between 9am and 9pm--we definitely wish we could guarantee a more succinct delivery window! Working with third party carriers does limit our control over the delivery once the package leaves us, but rest assured that if there are ever any major issues (delivery failure, etc.) we will do whatever we can to resolve it for you, the customer.:-)
My husband and I have recently joined Freshly.com no recieve 9 of the pre-prepared meals, all you have to do is microwave them! Since it's just the two of us, and I really prefer to just cook for a crowd, and we've gotten tired of eating out or brining in food, We find it's just so much easier just to pop a meal in the microwave after work.
The food tastes fantastic! We haven't had a dinner or lunch we haven't liked so far!
My husband says we are also saving money! You can change your order weekly if you like and skip weeks.
Try them for 6 days, I think you'll like them. If not you can cancel the service no problem.
We decided to try out Freshly because we had a "half-price for first delivery with no commitment" offer. A couple of the things we got were a little disappointing -- the flavors of the Moroccan Chicken were good but the sauce texture was a little off-putting, and with the Pecan Pesto Chicken, the pesto and quinoa were just a bit bland (although the squash side was really quite good) -- but the other four dishes, especially the Chicken Parm and the Mustard Pork Chop, were_very_ good, and even the disappointing ones were about as good as frozen fare you might get at Whole Foods (Amy's, Saffron Road, etc). And the portion sizes are good. We're going to continue our subscription at least another few weeks, and see how having these around, and reducing our store purchases of meals, works out... The "flex 6" option, which works out to each of us having a box meal (for either breakfast, lunch, or dinner) three times a week, is about right compared to how often we want that kind of convenience, vs how often we either cook or eat out.
For the price of the service, we thought we had to give Freshly a try and see if we could save ourselves some time a few days a week with a prepared meal. We didn't really know what to expect. The meals were delivered perfectly packaged and a day early! We each ordered 3 meals and LOVED each one! Without hesitation, we ordered a second week! I was happy to see new meal options already added in after the first week for variation. I am really happy to have found this service! I feel like I have my own personal chef! Thank you, Freshly!
Great mix of different recipes. Loved the salmon and steak meals. So easy. If you compare this to what it would cost you in terms of time to prepare the meals, this can be cheaper, depending on how you value your time.
I feel like an athlete, just be eating right and doing 5 miles walking (mininum) and 20 mins of exercise a day. I could be a spokesperson for freshly...
Thank you for the kind words! We truly appreciate it and are so glad you're enjoying the service!
I was really excited to order these, my husband has been working late and I thought it would be great for us to have ready made meals. Had the Peppercorn Steak and it was not great, too much sauce, the green beans were way overcooked, almost hollow. I am disappointed. These aren't much better than a lean cuisine.
Hi Shanyn--thank you for the feedback! I messaged you privately a few days ago, but just in case you didn't get that message here is what I sent:
Of course, I'm sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy that first meal. Have you had a chance to try any others yet?
Once you try the rest of them out, let me know how many you were not happy with (even if it's all of them!). We would LOVE it if everyone enjoyed the meals, but of course we understand that food is pretty subjective, which is why we have our 100% Customer Satisfaction Guarantee. Let us know that you are dissatisfied within 7 days (of eating meals) and we're happy to reimburse. :)
I have been looking for a food service and happened upon Freshly and am very pleased with it! The food is healthy and tastes GREAT! There are no shipping charges and you and change your meals each week or change your service! I am very happy so far! It makes meal planning easier!
I was so excited when I found this service. Having to cook gluten free for myself as a busy working Mom, this seemed like the answer to my prayers. The first week's meals arrived without issue, except 1 of the 6 meals was open and spilled inside the box. I called and they quickly promised to credit my next shipment for that meal. The following week I was excited for my meals to arrive, but they didn't. The following week, same thing--they skipped 2 weeks without reason. I then received an email saying they shipped last Friday, but when tracked, they won't arrive until this Wednesday (5 days later). I then called and was told after 5 days in transit, the meals will be spoiled. They promised to send a new shipment. It is now 20 days since my last delivery, even though I signed up for weekly service. I'm so confused! I'd love this program, if the delivery and reliability issues could just get fixed! Also, their website is frustrating and lacking account information (like what exact meals shipped, and when). Hoping they iron out these kinks so I can continue to use!
I messaged you earlier this week and just want to be sure you get it!:)
It's so frustrating to us when these things happen; I assure you that on the customer service end it's our goal to give our customers the best experience possible. Unfortunately the website we've been working with, as you noted, is a bit... lacking! In the next month or so we are going to be launching our brand new website (custom built for us!) which should alleviate many (hopefully all!) of those kinds of issues--both with the account information (or lack thereof) as well as the technical issues which it sounds like you experienced, hence the week being skipped for no apparent reason.
When I went to check out your account to see if there was something I could do, I was happy to see that Ramon got an order scheduled for you this week, free of charge.:)
I also went ahead and credited your next active week on your regular subscription by 25%--so the next charge you'll have will be $51.75 instead of the full $69.: D
Thank you for the feedback! I'm glad that you're enjoying the meals. :)
Much better that I expected, great quality with the exception of the pasta. Perfect for those with little time or just want a good quality meal to pop into the microwave and go. Even better for the retired or like myself, disabled.
This food is a larger portion serving of airplane food-terrible. We took delivery on Tuesday and have already cancelled. Rubbery omelettes, undercooked proteins, overcooked/rubbery veggies, and oh, by the way, you receive the food frozen. The food is packaged in heavy duty styrofoam packing with ice packs and the food itself is in plastic TV dinner trays they need to be microwaved (the plastic wrap on top of the TV dinner tray is nearly impossible to take off. You need scissors. Do yourself a favor and get some healthy TV dinners from whole foods if you're looking for convenience, or get a higher priced but higher value meal plan. Freshly, according to their customer service reps, uses factory farmed meats and conventional veggies and produce, so you're not doing yourself any favors by eating this: you're just eating less because the food is really not appetizing at all,
We're very sorry to hear that your meals arrived frozen! They definitely should not have arrived in that condition. If you have not already reached out to the Customer Experience team via email for a reimbursement, please reply to the private message I sent you a few days ago. We will be happy to resolve this for you!
Thanks for speedy response. I hope you keep going to improve your product and I keep getting to enjoy these fresh, healthy and GREAT Tasting meals.
Our apologies again for that opened meal! I'm glad we were able to get it resolved with the credit, though.:-)
We thank you for your continued business as well!
I was pleasantly surprised by the food on the quality, tastiness and freshness.
I honestly was not expecting it to be great. I love that it's gluten free, because if I had to buy and do it myself, most likely I wouldn't do it.
Portions are ample and probably a great for men, but if you are trying to lose weight, you could even consider dividing it in half and save the other portion for later in the day.
We're so glad you've enjoyed the service! :)
These guys are easy to use, and delicious. We done at least five or six other food delivery services and this may be the best one. Good portions for the price as well.
We're so glad you've been enjoying the service! Thank you for the kind words!
Title explains it all. My only tiny issue is the meal packaging require scissors or a knife to open, but I'm sure its too make sure the meals do bust open during shipment. So, I'm not bothered by it.
The quality of the food is excellent!
Answer: Hi Marc, Thanks for your inquiry! At this time we change one meal per week, typically. We will either remove an item and replace with something new, update the recipe on a current item or just add an item without removing one. As we continue to grow we will have plans to offer even more variety as well!
Answer: Hi Steven, Thank you for your interest in Freshly! We are a weekly subscription service, so you would be charged for, and delivered meals on a weekly basis. However, you can select to skip weeks, or cancel your subscription at anytime! These changes would just need to be made prior to your weekly deadline, which is outlined in your Welcome Email, Reminder Emails, and in your Meal Planner. I hope this helps!
Answer: Our meals are prepared and shipped out from our kitchen in Phoenix.:-) For Arizona deliveries we use FedEx.
Answer: The delivery window they give us is between 9am and 9pm. We package the meals to be safe for 2 days transit time, plus safe to sit outside for up to 12 hours upon delivery.:-)
Answer: Hi Nancy! We do not cook meals based on other programs' guidelines at this time. We're not overly concerned with calorie counts, but more concerned with where calories come from. Our meals are generally high protein, high healthy fat, low carb, low sugar. We use unprocessed ingredients free from hormones or added sugars, and never use chemical preservatives. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions at this time!
Answer: Hi Shawn W, That doesn't sound right! Please reach us at [email protected] so we can take a closer look at this!
Answer: Hi Joyce, Thank you so much for reaching out to us here at Freshly! I'd like to apologize for the delayed response! First and foremost, I'd like to inform you that we're a weekly subscription service, which means you'll receive meals weekly, and get charged weekly as well. Here are the steps to follow while signing up: 1 - Add your email address and zip code in the sign-up box on our homepage. ( www.Freshly.com) 2 - Pick your meal plan. Just keep in mind that our meals have a shelf life of about 5 days unless frozen. 3 - Pick your delivery day from the available dates! The specific day of the week will be your weekly delivery day unless changed. 4 - Select your delicious meals from our 30+ selections. 5 - Add your contact info, payment details, and delivery address.
Answer: Hi Gayle, Thank you for reaching out to us here at Freshly! You can certainly reheat our meals in a conventional oven, however, our current meal containers are not safe for the oven or stove-top, so you'll have to transfer your food to heat it up. First, preheat your oven to 350° F. Transfer your food to an oven-safe dish (don't forget to scrape the sauce out of the tray!) and cover the top in tin foil. Heat for 25-35 minutes, remove foil, and let sit 3-5 minutes, then transfer to your choice of plate or bowl and enjoy! (Keep in mind, heating times are approximate. You'll want to reheat the meal to an inner temperature of 165° F.)
Answer: Hi Angela, Thank you for reaching out to us here at Freshly! We use third-party carriers for our deliveries, such as FedEx in her area! We can deliver Tuesday-Saturday in Southern Illinois--deliveries can occur between 8am-9pm depending on the carriers route for the day. While carrier delays are out of the norm, weather-related issues, road closures, driver confusion, etc. can wreak havoc. We have a dedicated delivery team that works directly with our carriers to ensure successful deliveries, and we're always sure to compensate when delays arise. We certainly hope this helps! To view a list of currently available deliveries, you can enter your zip code at www.freshly.com!
Answer: I've been getting mine in on time, but I assume as with all packages going through USPS, UPS, and FedEx right now, things have been backed up since COVID and only getting worse. So it's not Freshly's fault even if they aren't delivered on time.

HI Carly! I wrote a private message a few days ago, but I think sometimes they get filtered to spam/junk folders, so I wanted to reiterate the message here just in case for you!: D
Regarding the sodium, I'm not sure if you are referring to an older order or a more recent order, but I know that over the last week-week and a half we changed the portions from "1 serving" to "1.5 servings" and in the process the nutritional information got a little bit screwed up, particularly the sodium content. So if it was an order from this week that would certainly explain it. I know that the Coconut Lime Salmon in particular stated something crazy like 1,900 mg of sodium! Which is definitely not true.:-)
I'm very sorry to hear that you had an order arrive frozen! That should never be the case (we don't freeze them here), but of course sometimes temperatures can drop lower than anticipated and freeze things during transit. We definitely would have refunded you for that FLEX 6 delivery had we known! So I just went ahead and credited your next active week on the new FLEX 9 you ordered by $69.
I also added an additional $11 credit for that one particular dish you mentioned that you found completely inedible. Per our Customer Satisfaction Guarantee we are always happy to credit/refund for any meals you cannot eat or are generally unhappy with.
Thank you so much for your feedback!
