While there are lots of meal delivery services available, many require preparation. Freshly meals are pre-prepared and only require a quick heating in the microwave. Plus they are tasty and can be tailored to your dietary needs. This is a great option for my elderly parents who still live at home. I am assured they get at least a few healthy meals each week.
Another bonus- Freshly has great customer service. They make it very easy to modify meal choices, delivery dates and even to skip a week. I have recommended Freshly to several others.
We've been happy overall with Freshly! I was using a different service but I didn't like spending up to an hour making dinner once we got home from work, then cleanup to follow. With Freshly it's quick to the table with minimal cleanup. My only complaint: I would prefer that they vary the meals I receive (based on preferences) rather than requiring me to sign in every week to select meals. If I don't have time or forget, we get the same 6 meals as the week before.
The food is delicious. Its easy to order. Great customer service. A wide selection. Add desserts. I have to say more so I can submit my review.
My mother is aging and no longer cooks for herself. With Freshly, we can be confident that she is eating well-made and nutritious meals. We are very thankful that this service exists.
I pick my meals, good selection, free delivery, they always arrive cold and fresh. All I need to do is heat them and eat them! No cooking, no dishes, no work, and best of all I am losing weight and eating healthy and tracking my calories and portion size is controlled. Win win situation all around.
I conveniently live too close to many fast food options. I found myself eating fast food at least once to twice a day (simply for the convenience). Now, I'm able to quickly prepare a much healthier meal in only 3 minutes in my microwave, and barely spending more than my fast food meals cost. The meals are quite tasty too. The company has been phenomenal in offering a credit when anything goes even the slightest bit wrong with my order. I very much appreciate their display of professionalism in such manners! They go above and beyond what I've seen the majority of any company do.
I work somewhere that has no cafeteria service on my shift(night). I'm not good at meal planning so the only lunch option is to order out. That's is unhealthy & can be pretty pricey. Freshly makes it so easy to take a filling, healthy meal to work. I recommend it to anyone who is in a similar situation.
I am out of town alot, so I order these for my husband. He loves them. The portions are the perfect size for him.
I didn't understand the point of the "recipe ingredient delivery" services. Freshly, I get! Having my meals prepared by someone who obviously cared about what they were doing is an immense time saver and I've cut fast food out of my diet completely. I've not had a meal yet that I wouldn't have again.
Food arrives cold, not frozen. Always fresh and doesnt taste like your typical microwave meal. Good food selection, although I would like more steak options. Wish I could choose my meals for the next week on Friday prior to delivery. Food comes Monday and usually Ive only had one of my 4 meals by Wed, when I have to already choose my meals for the next week. Makes it hard when trying new selectionsyou have to wait another week before choosing them again. Overall a great service :)
We have been subscribers for several years and it has been fun to see the menu grow with the introduction of many new, excellent dishes.
I love Freshly, especially the entrees. With that said, the sides could entail a better variety. There is a lot to choose from apart from green beans, broccoli, brussel sprouts and mixed vegetables. There's white or brown rice, quinoa, pasta salad, German potato salad, cornbread, lentils, couscous, squash, spinach, cabbage, collard greens, etc. There are other varieties of proteins that could be used including what you already serve; what about tilapia, haddock, catfish, beans, lentils, lamb, ham, ribs, roast beef, etc. Also styles of preparation like Louisiana, Mediterranean, Greek, German, Asian, more Indian, etc. I love Freshly, but without more variety or change up. I won't be able to sustain this for a whole year or more. Freshly has been a lifechanger for me and I need to be able to continue using the service.
With my busy schedule and zero energy these meals have helped me out big time. I have not had a bad meal yet!
Beyond the obvious convenience, the food is absolutely delicious. Thats the most noteable thing. Greatest of all, you feel like you are getting deal for something you enjoy.
Could use more variety and larger portions. More seafood and beef dishes. More international choices: Thai, Greek, Chinese, Mexican, Middle Eastern, etc. Poor choice of Vegan dishes.
Freshly has been a great way to eat healthy! I have enjoyed the meals and the variety. Always fresh and very tasty. I would highly recommend to someone who lives alone and does not like leftovers. The portions are just right and filling. Thank you, Freshly!
I like freshly because im recently widowed. I do some of my own cooking but with freshly i get all my food that is good for me already prepared.
The food is very fresh and most of the dishes are tasty. I wish there was more time to try the options before selecting the next week's meal. I end up not liking one and don't know until it's too late.
Food tastes good but you lack true paleo meals, Losely based paleo is not paleo. This is quite frustrating.

Because of the nature of our business, there may be small amounts of ingredients that aren’t traditionally paleo. We add these ingredients in order to bring customers the closest definition of paleo possible while still being able to deliver a fresh product directly to lots of consumers.
As we continue to grow we plan to offer more meals catered specifically for different dietary needs!

We will either remove an item and replace with something new, update the recipe on a current item or just add an item without removing one. As we continue to grow we will have plans to offer even more variety as well!

However, you can select to skip weeks, or cancel your subscription at anytime! These changes would just need to be made prior to your weekly deadline, which is outlined in your Welcome Email, Reminder Emails, and in your Meal Planner. I hope this helps!
Answer: Our meals are prepared and shipped out from our kitchen in Phoenix.:-) For Arizona deliveries we use FedEx.
Answer: The delivery window they give us is between 9am and 9pm. We package the meals to be safe for 2 days transit time, plus safe to sit outside for up to 12 hours upon delivery.:-)
Answer: Hi Nancy! We do not cook meals based on other programs' guidelines at this time. We're not overly concerned with calorie counts, but more concerned with where calories come from. Our meals are generally high protein, high healthy fat, low carb, low sugar. We use unprocessed ingredients free from hormones or added sugars, and never use chemical preservatives. Here are the steps to follow while signing up: 1 - Add your email address and zip code in the sign-up box on our homepage. ( www.Freshly.com) 2 - Pick your meal plan. Just keep in mind that our meals have a shelf life of about 5 days unless frozen. 3 - Pick your delivery day from the available dates! The specific day of the week will be your weekly delivery day unless changed. 4 - Select your delicious meals from our 30+ selections. 5 - Add your contact info, payment details, and delivery address.

You can certainly reheat our meals in a conventional oven, however, our current meal containers are not safe for the oven or stove-top, so you'll have to transfer your food to heat it up. First, preheat your oven to 350° F. Transfer your food to an oven-safe dish (don't forget to scrape the sauce out of the tray!) and cover the top in tin foil. Heat for 25-35 minutes, remove foil, and let sit 3-5 minutes, then transfer to your choice of plate or bowl and enjoy! (Keep in mind, heating times are approximate. You'll want to reheat the meal to an inner temperature of 165° F.)

We can deliver Tuesday-Saturday in Southern Illinois--deliveries can occur between 8am-9pm depending on the carriers route for the day. While carrier delays are out of the norm, weather-related issues, road closures, driver confusion, etc. can wreak havoc. We have a dedicated delivery team that works directly with our carriers to ensure successful deliveries, and we're always sure to compensate when delays arise. We certainly hope this helps! Answer: I've been getting mine in on time, but I assume as with all packages going through USPS, UPS, and FedEx right now, things have been backed up since COVID and only getting worse. So it's not Freshly's fault even if they aren't delivered on time.
