Really really good food and great free delivery! You can change up your selection every week or stay the same! So convenient!
Overall, my experience with Freshly has been great. The mobile app is very easy to use and everything related to the weekly meals can managed from the app. The price point of each meal depending on the particular meal plan selected is decent. Some of the meals taste better than others but overall they are pretty good and have excellent nutritional value.

I don't like the packaging. Some of the dishes taste terrible
It's a very convenient service that definitely has got me eating healthier and losing weight. I just was hoping that the food would taste a little better for $9 a meal. But overall still a good service. I think the app/website could also be a a little better for sorting food.

I am a super picky eater, but I have loved every meal I have tried so far. And it definitely tastes fresh, not like a frozen dinner. The meals are actually a good value, but I wish I could order meal options for 7 days versus 6. The gap in between orders throws off my meal budgeting. But the service, the food, and the price are great.

We love our freshly order! Unpacking the order is so exciting... grocery shopping done from the convenience of the couch! Ordering Freshly opens up our weeks to spend more time doing the things we love. The portion sizes are great, and the variety of the meals allow us both to choose meals that interest us individually. I would highly recommend it to anyone with a busy schedule!

I'm on my third or fourth week of Freshly, and I'm very happy with it so far. Some of the meals have been AMAZING- I just wish you'd offer more pescatarian and vegetarian options. One of the few you offer, the cod cakes, is prohibitively high in calories, and there have been scant few others. The app is easy to use, shipping seems efficient, and my dealings with customer service so far have been pleasant.
Meals are great. Very tasty and not boring. It Is an easy way top eat right.

With that said, as we don't use any chemical or artificial preservatives, the meals stay fresh for about 4 to 5 days after delivery, though shelf life can vary. Of course, life does happen and you're not always able to enjoy your meals in that time frame! You can definitely freeze a few to extend the shelf life. No need to thaw, just be sure to double the cook time.

3 deliveries, 3 issues. Always a day late, taking one of the days the food is good before it expires. 6 meals (6 days) but food only good for 4 days because 1 day wasted with late delivery. App doesn't get updated. 1 delivery to the wrong floor/apartment. One left in the lobby. Food is good though.
Food is pretty good, delivery service is awful. I'm a brand new customer and the first delivery was a day late. I had planned on having a freshly dinner on the day I selected for delivery. So I had no healthy food for dinner. That is the reason I joined freshly in the first place: to have healthy prepared dinners on the days I work. Then my second delivery was a day late. My work schedule is Tues thru Sat so having food delivered on Thursday or Friday is pointless. I can cook my own meals on the weekend. I needed freshly on week days on the day I selected for delivery! And not at 11pm or 1am. During the day!

Communication is very important to us and we do our very best to keep you updated whenever there is a possible issue. While carrier delays are certainly out of the norm, weather-related issues, road closures, driver confusion, etc. can wreak havoc. - A lot can happen between our kitchen in Phoenix, Arizona and your home in Washington. I'm terribly sorry that you've been the victim of such a circumstance twice as a new customer!
Of course, we do everything we can to avoid these situations, though we're always sure to compensate when they arise. Rest assured, we are actively working with the carrier to rectify these recent trouble and we even have a Delivery Team dedicated to ensuring your meals arrive properly and safely to your door week after week.

At the start of what I believe is week three (the app doesn't allow me to review my history), I have mixed feelings. On the plus side, I love the convenience. I love the portion control. I like the fact that I have 100% less food waste than when I was cooking my own meals. I also like the ease of meal switching. On the negative side, I find the food rarely lives up to its billing. While I've only had one meal that was too unpleasant to finish, I frequently find that for my palate, the veg can be soggy, and the protein can be under-flavored. I do appreciate that you are preparing food for a wide range of tastes and that many other subscribers are my opposite. The one exception is cauliflower. The cauliflower mash and the loaded cauliflower were both fantastic.
In sum, I have more meals to try to find my favorites, and for the time being I am inclined to stay with it.

I'm pleased to hear you're loving our Loaded Cauliflower Mash (The Buffalo Chicken is a personal favorite!), though I'm sad to hear you're not enjoying many of our other selections. I definitely understand that taste can vary, and for this reason, we have seasoning tips on our site - Be sure to check those out! Of course, I truly appreciate your feedback and will be sharing this with our chefs. As a relatively young company, we're always looking for new ways to better both our recipes and our service.
In the meantime, we do try and keep a steady menu though we typically swap out an existing dish for a new one each week, except for holidays. Not to spoil the surprise, but we have a Creamy Chicken Casserole coming to the menu in February! I truly hope you'll enjoy this meal just as much as we do.

The calories are low, but sodium is very high as well as fat grams
Hi Teresa, thanks so much for the review! I'm saddened to hear you're not finding enough selections that are amenable to your needs, though I'd be happy to assist! Here's a little about us: Our meals average 700 mg of sodium per dish, with options as low as around 400 mg! This is a combo of what's naturally occurring in the ingredients, and a mineral-dense sea salt that we use to lightly season - We never use any chemical additives, MSG, or flavor enhancers that would contribute to a higher salt content. As for fat, we range from 10 to 30 grams, but we like to focus on healthy fats! Think almonds, coconuts, and eggs.
We take a modern approach to health here at Freshly, which includes real and whole foods. Everything you want and nothing you don't! We incorporate nutrient-dense veggies, high-quality proteins, and healthy fats into balanced meals that are both wholesome and tasty. We also have a strict banned ingredients list!

The dinners are better than expected. I bought the first week of dinners on sale, and just thought a microwaved product just wouldn't taste that good. So I wasn't expecting much more than what leftovers or frozen food in the microwave tastes like. What the hell, it wasn't expensive, within my food budget, and I wasn't signing a contract. Your food and spices and combinations and portions have been a pleasant surprise. It feels so decadent to have dinner in three minutes, and have balanced nutrients, and be really tasty. I live alone and have always cooked for myself, but normally threw food out because I grew tired of the stew or soup or having nothing defrosted so this is the best alternative I've seen. This is still new to me so if you keep up the uniqueness and taste of the dishes offered, I will continue to be a customer, and let others know.

We will either remove an item and replace with something new, update the recipe on a current item or just add an item without removing one. As we continue to grow we will have plans to offer even more variety as well!

However, you can select to skip weeks, or cancel your subscription at anytime! First and foremost, I'd like to inform you that we're a weekly subscription service, which means you'll receive meals weekly, and get charged weekly as well. Here are the steps to follow while signing up: 1 - Add your email address and zip code in the sign-up box on our homepage. ( www.Freshly.com) 2 - Pick your meal plan. Just keep in mind that our meals have a shelf life of about 5 days unless frozen. 3 - Pick your delivery day from the available dates! The specific day of the week will be your weekly delivery day unless changed. 4 - Select your delicious meals from our 30+ selections. 5 - Add your contact info, payment details, and delivery address.

You can certainly reheat our meals in a conventional oven, however, our current meal containers are not safe for the oven or stove-top, so you'll have to transfer your food to heat it up. First, preheat your oven to 350° F. Transfer your food to an oven-safe dish (don't forget to scrape the sauce out of the tray!) and cover the top in tin foil. Heat for 25-35 minutes, remove foil, and let sit 3-5 minutes, then transfer to your choice of plate or bowl and enjoy! (Keep in mind, heating times are approximate. You'll want to reheat the meal to an inner temperature of 165° F.)

Answer: I've been getting mine in on time, but I assume as with all packages going through USPS, UPS, and FedEx right now, things have been backed up since COVID and only getting worse. So it's not Freshly's fault even if they aren't delivered on time.
