I don't like disposing of all the packing. So far, most of the meals are not that tasty to me. I don't see any instructions for microwaving the meals once they're frozen. I'd like more non-spicy choices. When it lists spices, I'd like to know if there's a lot of pepper in it. More non-spicy meals would be good, especially without peppers. I could live without onions, as well- especially pearl onions. I like when they add new choices, especially non-spicy ones.
Hi Paula, thank you for your review. We provide reheating instructions from frozen on our site, you'd add a few extra minutes, or until they reach 165 degrees! Most of our meals contain a blend of spices that help to flavor and season the meal to your liking. Our proprietary blends of spices sometimes contain five or more herbs and spices. As per the FDA’s labeling regulations, and to keep things simple, we follow the guidelines to just list them under one broad umbrella of “spices”! I'll certainly pass along your feedback to our chefs that we could come out with more meals that aren't spicy and without onions! Thank you again Paula.

We're on our 3rd delivery with Freshly. Didn't update my order for the latest one since we wanted to taste the 2nd week's selections. Getting an order on Wednesday and having the cutoff for the next order on Friday morning doesn't allow for much time to try the current week's food and we missed the deadline. Maybe it will get easier once we taste most the meals if we decide to continue. Also, we froze some meals as we had visitors late last week and knew we weren't going to get to them in the fridge. The reheat time from frozen was more than 7 minutes. Did that twice (for my wife and I) and we were waiting around the microwave so freezing isn't optimal from a time perspective. The Wednesday delivery isn't great. It should be on at the beginning of the week. On the plus side, most of the meals we had we'd order again. But it's not 100%. We've had 3 so far that we didn't like (pesto, steak, laredo chicken).

We do have a strict deadline for when deliveries are charged, as it does take us 5 days to source, prep, cook, and ship your meals to arrive on your chosen delivery day. We always provide this information in your subscription, as well as we send reminder emails to update your menu!
We recommend refrigerating your meals, however, you can certainly freeze them. You would heat from frozen by adding a few extra minutes, or until they reach 165 degrees! We provide this helpful information in the FAQ section of our site, as well as oven reheating instructions.
Available delivery days depend on your local area and if we're able to safely get meals to you within the packages tested 60 hour time frame to keep meals fresh! SO FAR THEY ARE FINE - I AM TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT. I FIND THEM TO BE VERY VERY BLAND - NO FLAVOR IT ALL TASTES THE SAME. THINKING ABOUT CANCELLING AFTER THE NEXT ORDER. I WANTED TO TRY ALL THE ONES THAT APPEAL TO ME BEFORE I DID SO. NONE OF THEM MAKE ME LOOK FORWARD TO EATING THEM.

The meals arrive on time and have been prepared freshly. There are some meals I like better than others. I had two meals which I really did not like and struggled to eat. Sometimes the chicken is tough or the vegetables are soggy. The premise of this meal service is good for us as we were looking for something we didn't have to prepare. By ordering these meals, we are eating out less. This saves us money. We feel the Freshly meals are portioned controlled and helping us to eat healthier. I wish there were more beef dishes.

I love the food but I've been a member for a month. I would recommend changing up menu more often so I don't get bored with selections. But I love the service and the food.
.. The chili is the least exciting with my Texas, rancher taste buds telling me it isn't the best. Your peppercorn steak meal is great, perhaps options for different sides would also sell well. Liked your fish and chicken, especially the breast dish; looking forward for your other offerings. Your BBQ chicken would be better named, outdoor grilled since the BBQ is hardly found, another actual BBQ choice with the chicken slathered in BBQ could take on that name. Just have about seven meals to date, give me time to try more.

I didn't realize what a pleasure it would be to order from you. My location does not allow for 'fancy', cruise-food-type meals so trust me when I say, I was pleasantly surprised immediately with your service and product. The meals are fantastic. I won't even ask how you do it. I'm just glad you do. The delivery (again for my very remote location) is phenomenal as it's right to my door, fresh, packaged beautifully and ready to eat. You can live in a city and have this type of cuisine every day. You live remotely like me and you're driving forever to get it even infrequently. I think the quality and variety of the meals is satisfying as well. Many choices. Many choices within a meat group. It's simply put: a Fresh(ly) experience. Well done. Keep it up.

I like most of your meals, and the digital experience is good. If there was one "issue" that I have right now is that for $10 per plate, I'm not filled up at the end of the meal.
There are obviously options in the market (think fast casual restaurants or QSRs), where I can get filled up and still make healthy choices for less money (their inconvenience is that I need to drive to them). So I'll need to think about if the cost warrants the convenience of it coming to my door. Not sure as of right now.
We have ordered from Freshly for two weeks now. We have liked every meal except one. The taste is fresh and the portion size is good for the "average" eater. The deliveries have been convenient and on time so far. The ordering process is quick and easy.
Most of the entrees are excellent, and only one or two so far that I would not order again. Very easy and convenient!

We will either remove an item and replace with something new, update the recipe on a current item or just add an item without removing one. As we continue to grow we will have plans to offer even more variety as well!
Answer: Hi Steven, Thank you for your interest in Freshly! We are a weekly subscription service, so you would be charged for, and delivered meals on a weekly basis. However, you can select to skip weeks, or cancel your subscription at anytime! These changes would just need to be made prior to your weekly deadline, which is outlined in your Welcome Email, Reminder Emails, and in your Meal Planner. I hope this helps!
Answer: Our meals are prepared and shipped out from our kitchen in Phoenix.:-) For Arizona deliveries we use FedEx.
Answer: The delivery window they give us is between 9am and 9pm. We package the meals to be safe for 2 days transit time, plus safe to sit outside for up to 12 hours upon delivery.:-)
Answer: Hi Nancy! We do not cook meals based on other programs' guidelines at this time. We're not overly concerned with calorie counts, but more concerned with where calories come from. Our meals are generally high protein, high healthy fat, low carb, low sugar. We use unprocessed ingredients free from hormones or added sugars, and never use chemical preservatives. First and foremost, I'd like to inform you that we're a weekly subscription service, which means you'll receive meals weekly, and get charged weekly as well. Here are the steps to follow while signing up: 1 - Add your email address and zip code in the sign-up box on our homepage. ( www.Freshly.com) 2 - Pick your meal plan. Just keep in mind that our meals have a shelf life of about 5 days unless frozen. 3 - Pick your delivery day from the available dates! The specific day of the week will be your weekly delivery day unless changed. 4 - Select your delicious meals from our 30+ selections. 5 - Add your contact info, payment details, and delivery address.

You can certainly reheat our meals in a conventional oven, however, our current meal containers are not safe for the oven or stove-top, so you'll have to transfer your food to heat it up. First, preheat your oven to 350° F. Transfer your food to an oven-safe dish (don't forget to scrape the sauce out of the tray!) and cover the top in tin foil. Heat for 25-35 minutes, remove foil, and let sit 3-5 minutes, then transfer to your choice of plate or bowl and enjoy! (Keep in mind, heating times are approximate. You'll want to reheat the meal to an inner temperature of 165° F.)
Answer: Hi Angela, Thank you for reaching out to us here at Freshly! We use third-party carriers for our deliveries, such as FedEx in her area! We can deliver Tuesday-Saturday in Southern Illinois--deliveries can occur between 8am-9pm depending on the carriers route for the day. While carrier delays are out of the norm, weather-related issues, road closures, driver confusion, etc. can wreak havoc. We have a dedicated delivery team that works directly with our carriers to ensure successful deliveries, and we're always sure to compensate when delays arise. We certainly hope this helps! Answer: I've been getting mine in on time, but I assume as with all packages going through USPS, UPS, and FedEx right now, things have been backed up since COVID and only getting worse. So it's not Freshly's fault even if they aren't delivered on time.
