I am really grateful to them. I found problem opening my freelancing account. They gave me huge time to reopen it. Specially their quick response pleased me much. They are very responsible to their duties.
I emailed support midday, yesterday July 1st, about charges to my pay pal account. They very quickly responded and attempted to figure out what happened, as I don't know what this site is and never commissioned any "projects", they were able to track the transactions, close the account and refund my money. I'm not thrilled my account information was used with out my permission but it seems that the fraudulent information did not come from Freelancer. I greatly appreciate the quick resolution.
I lost my part money neither I got my work
Not only I lost money but lost my valuable time by working with freelance
I signed up for Freelancer.com because my client had put down payment on his project there. I met him through a contact completely separate from freelancer.com btw. I purely signed up to accept payment.
1) Client couldn't get his money back for 14 days.
2) I signed up, added bank account info, etc., and then invoiced him/accepted his project, etc. - fees of 10% just to accept payment. No. No other place charges that nonsense.
3) You charged HIM a fee to PAY me after he'd already given you money.
4) You have a policy that delays access to funds for 15 days to new accounts. Also no. I understand being cautious but not after verifying my identity including my bank account. People cannot have delays in access to income given the state of the world. Reevaluate this policy.
5) The ONLY way to get paid was to refund the money back to him (which I can't do btw, you have to do it, there's no option for me to refund to clients myself).
6) He asked you for a refund that will take, you guessed it, 14 days, which is as long as the delay.
I will never, ever, ever use or recommend Freelancer.com to anyone. I've already started cautioning everyone I know that accepts money and does any type of development work to stay way the hell away from your service. Including details of the above re: fees, etc.
There are far better ways. UpWork is better than this even. I understand you provide a service to people and you charge for that service. But nickel and diming people fees is not the way.
Improve your service. Make it friendly to freelancers. When they sign up for your service and go through the process of verifying who they are including bank info, don't hold their money hostage. Don't charge exorbitant fees to those just trying to do their work and get paid a fair rate.
He described all the things very greatly and provided all information. Am very satisfied with his help
My experience with Macall. C was very good I get all my question answers I really appreciate Macall for taking the time out to answer my question the reason why I must get verified by a freelancer
Thank you
It was a great experience through chat and Macall was able to explain to me the whole product and how it works
She was very accommodating and she responded to query quickly. Good job Judith!

Previously, I have repeatedly paid for membership on the site, while when it came to withdrawing the earned funds, they demanded to pass verification, which I cannot pass because my documents are not in English. The site administration is too lazy to use google translator apparently. I highly do not recommend this project, moreover, I have previously heard negative reviews that people have problems with withdrawing funds, and the number of posted projects in the form of spam is quite a large number.
At the same time, he previously successfully passed verification personally in his native language in such companies as Microsoft, Google, UpWork. Therefore, there is clearly something wrong with this service, and they still associate themselves as a long-distance platform.
Good. They help me very fast. I like their service.
It was informative and they were responsive to my every concern and gave insightful suggestions. I was satisfied with the service delivered
Judith J assisted on my query. He is forwarded my issue to the finance dept. Hopefully this will sort out very soon. Thanks maaan.
Absolutely informative and Necesary. I chatted briefly with a freelancer agent called Macall and he was absolutely proffesional and patient with me. He convinced me that the product was applicable to me and also widened my Knowledge on it.
The freelancer team helped me with my banking problems patiently and professional Until my money comes back, thank you guys.
I was deceived and engaged by the buyer of a fake project. I contacted the freelance support team. They removed my concerns.and I am fully satisfied..
A hired freelancer couldnt fix his own software he created. After milestone released, software didnt work. Contacted support and they were able to get the refund. Pick your hired freelancer closely. Most are clueless
Answer: It is a PR platform that enables scammers to appear legitimate or verified. Freelancer doesn't care. They get a sizeable commission no matter if the posting is legitimate or not. Example: A fake ebook listing. Needs author to write 50000 words for US$ 2000. Unwitting freelancer bids and is 'awarded project' with message saying hurry up and accept. Once accepted, freelancer takes 'project fee' while you get tied up in their help callcenter trying to recoup not only the fee but potentially the fake employer gleaned from you using their platform. This site will be in the news soon. Trust me.
Answer: Hi Dejan. This happened to me in 2014, I lost a lot of money too, I withdrew the money on a Wednesday after the client had paid me $1000 in full. Then the next day, Thursday, I got a message that my withdrawal request was cancelled and the money reversed back to employer. My account was suspended and when I asked why, I was told that the employer looked like he was fraudulent and that the money might be fraud. Up to date, I am still bitter, angry and sad over that $1000 but I never got it back and Freelancer closed the person's account and that was that. So I hope this answers some of your questions and I am deeply sorry for your loss after such hard work. All the best
Answer: Freelancer.com focused on employer only, they just want as many employer and project as they can regardless of their country, verification status and deposits. However all the restriction is for employee. This is the reason Freelancer didn't stop them to post project without deposit. Almost 90% projects are fake (either posted by freelancer itself or fake/fraud employers). You have to be careful. Keep following things in mind will prevent you from fraud much. 1. Don't work for Employers from India/Bangladesh/Sri Lanka/Nigeria/Israel 2. Don't work for Employers whose name looks like Indian 3. Once the project is awarded to you, don't accept it unless the employer created initial milestone. Wait for at least 12 hours after milestone creation then accept it. 4. Ask for release step by step, don't work on next milestone unless previous is not released 5. Withdraw money from freelancer as fast as you can.
Answer: You can't say its fake but at the same time you can't just trust it fully. My point here is: people do get things done for the price but when it comes to money/payment, you can not trust freelancer. Sometimes it gets reversed from your account and you won't even get a satisfactory reason for it. I suffered a loss of 900 USD. All I get to hear that employer had some account issues and we can not disclose this any further. If you looking to work as a freelancer, go odesk or upwork and any other site first and then freelancer.com. Small incident: I worked for a client, designed the logo got the parent for it. Next day when looged in, my account showed negative balance ( payment reversed). Support: employer have acc. Issues Client: never came back or responded to any mails. Result: I worked and still in debt.
Answer: Dispute it with PayPal! Another beautiful example of why everyone hates Freelancer.
Answer: Freelancer is scam. I have very bad experience recently. "The payments you've received from your employer "-----------" were reversed due to their account issues. As a result, their account was closed" Lost over 800$. Freelancer also keep the fee for this job! Their support never answer. SCAM
Answer: Agree, do not use credit card details - freelancer is a terrible organisation when it comes to finances - they just debit your card at will, no warning, no opportunity to review the transaction, no notification of the charge - you just find out once you get your bank statement. Be very, very wary of this company - not saying their dodgy, BUT they are very devious when it comes to transactions. I think their motto is - "debit any time, just don't tell them and they wont complain"
Answer: Contact Paypal and file a dispute. I got a refund for the monthly amount that they should not have charged me for.
Answer: Good afternoon Rostyslav, unfortunately this has happened to most users of Freelancer including people who have been awarded projects. Ensure that you do not start any work or event accept a project until the following criteria have been met: 1. Project awarded 2. Initial milestone/deposit created 3. Client agrees to release the first payment immediately after you accepting the project. If they are unable to do this, tell then politely that you are unwilling to start on the project and keep looking for honest, legitimate clients. Be careful at all time on this website, even if you do vey thing by the book and the client still doesn't pay, the Freelancer support team will not help you. It is left to you to contact the client and chase the payment even of they delete their account.
Answer: Don't share you card. Use Paypal. First of all don't use freelancer they are scammers.
