I asked for a membership refund and she guided me through the process. I got the refund and a very kind customer support person to talk to. This was very helpful.
Made false accusations about me and freelancer policy.
See screen shot where he told me that it was normal to pay him up front and he had to pay state fees first prior to starting job. I later found out these were both fabrications. He kept repeating himself many times throughout the chat so there was no way to reason.
(He had convinced me that I was supposed to pay him up front.) When I went to pay, freelancer.com said not to pay up front unless I was satisfied with work. I confirmed this and did not release the funds for he had not started yet. Yet he disputed me for a week until he lost the dispute.
He then kept asking me to pay his acceptance fee of $50.
He also stated he was in Florida, yet I later see he if from Kenya. I asked several times why the discrepancy, He never explained.
It was a ridiculous situation and has unfortunately discouraged me from trying this site again. I ultimately lost $15 for the milestone.
Also, very poor communication for a professional. Almost childish.
Guide you about your query and give you better idea.
Thanks freelancer team. They are always helpful in needed time.
Chat representative was very kind, thanks a lot. Keep this way!
I accedenly used a premium feature. When I told them, they have refunded the payment superfast.
They usually block a lot of accounts for no reason. Then you can't give them a good reason to contact their support team and ask about it. Really not honest and is robbery.
The person who contacted with me(Judith J.) responded to me very quickly and clearly informed me about the situation really well and solved my issue. Thanks!
Jacinta U. Provided very helpful suggestions for making milestones and payments. I find the Freelancer website for clients difficult to find needed information and my agent saved me a lot of time. Freelancer needs to provide a more intuitive website that enable clients to get their need information more quickly.
Fast response and clear answers, good customer support team.
Mr. Ashton D. Does a great help to get resolve my issues in few seconds which I have struggled for a week. He is so kind to approach and resolves the problems. 100% Highly Recommended staff.
Hello
I am MD Sohanur Rahman a full-stack developer. I want to work with you I have been working in an IT firm for two years now I want to do professional freelancing
I had a not-so-memorable experience with a client, because of whom I had to incur extra project fee of 1000 INR. I was not surprised when the client ignored my requests. Therefore, I decided to seek the Freelancer Support Team's help. They immediately jumped to my rescue once they understood that I was indeed charged wrongly. I am really grateful to their service. Thank you so much for your quick support, Jones L., Aria M., and Rayana E.
Excellent service,
Helpful and give me the right information.
I appreciate his assistance. He is responding very first. Again he is very very helpful.
I don't forget his help. Thank you very much Macall C.!
It was great to have a chat with Macall, the conversation was very useful.
Thanks, Macall for the Time and Patience.
I have very positive experience from freelancer from the start of my work at this ground. From the first i get regular work as on my expertise. I have some exception skill and i focus to catch that type work from freelancer where less bidder participate and most of the time i award for that project. It is my on of the main earning source to my profession
Macall C. Was very nice and kind with patience, he explain to me about the freelancer verification process very clear that i don't have to doubt about it that's why iv'e decided to go through the process.
The support team always responds quickly and offers the best solutions to freelancers. Always happy to continue working on this platform.
Answer: It is a PR platform that enables scammers to appear legitimate or verified. Freelancer doesn't care. They get a sizeable commission no matter if the posting is legitimate or not. Example: A fake ebook listing. Needs author to write 50000 words for US$ 2000. Unwitting freelancer bids and is 'awarded project' with message saying hurry up and accept. Once accepted, freelancer takes 'project fee' while you get tied up in their help callcenter trying to recoup not only the fee but potentially the fake employer gleaned from you using their platform. This site will be in the news soon. Trust me.
Answer: Hi Dejan. This happened to me in 2014, I lost a lot of money too, I withdrew the money on a Wednesday after the client had paid me $1000 in full. Then the next day, Thursday, I got a message that my withdrawal request was cancelled and the money reversed back to employer. My account was suspended and when I asked why, I was told that the employer looked like he was fraudulent and that the money might be fraud. Up to date, I am still bitter, angry and sad over that $1000 but I never got it back and Freelancer closed the person's account and that was that. So I hope this answers some of your questions and I am deeply sorry for your loss after such hard work. All the best
Answer: Freelancer.com focused on employer only, they just want as many employer and project as they can regardless of their country, verification status and deposits. However all the restriction is for employee. This is the reason Freelancer didn't stop them to post project without deposit. Almost 90% projects are fake (either posted by freelancer itself or fake/fraud employers). You have to be careful. Keep following things in mind will prevent you from fraud much. 1. Don't work for Employers from India/Bangladesh/Sri Lanka/Nigeria/Israel 2. Don't work for Employers whose name looks like Indian 3. Once the project is awarded to you, don't accept it unless the employer created initial milestone. Wait for at least 12 hours after milestone creation then accept it. 4. Ask for release step by step, don't work on next milestone unless previous is not released 5. Withdraw money from freelancer as fast as you can.
Answer: You can't say its fake but at the same time you can't just trust it fully. My point here is: people do get things done for the price but when it comes to money/payment, you can not trust freelancer. Sometimes it gets reversed from your account and you won't even get a satisfactory reason for it. I suffered a loss of 900 USD. All I get to hear that employer had some account issues and we can not disclose this any further. If you looking to work as a freelancer, go odesk or upwork and any other site first and then freelancer.com. Small incident: I worked for a client, designed the logo got the parent for it. Next day when looged in, my account showed negative balance ( payment reversed). Support: employer have acc. Issues Client: never came back or responded to any mails. Result: I worked and still in debt.
Answer: Dispute it with PayPal! Another beautiful example of why everyone hates Freelancer.
Answer: Freelancer is scam. I have very bad experience recently. "The payments you've received from your employer "-----------" were reversed due to their account issues. As a result, their account was closed" Lost over 800$. Freelancer also keep the fee for this job! Their support never answer. SCAM
Answer: Agree, do not use credit card details - freelancer is a terrible organisation when it comes to finances - they just debit your card at will, no warning, no opportunity to review the transaction, no notification of the charge - you just find out once you get your bank statement. Be very, very wary of this company - not saying their dodgy, BUT they are very devious when it comes to transactions. I think their motto is - "debit any time, just don't tell them and they wont complain"
Answer: Contact Paypal and file a dispute. I got a refund for the monthly amount that they should not have charged me for.
Answer: Good afternoon Rostyslav, unfortunately this has happened to most users of Freelancer including people who have been awarded projects. Ensure that you do not start any work or event accept a project until the following criteria have been met: 1. Project awarded 2. Initial milestone/deposit created 3. Client agrees to release the first payment immediately after you accepting the project. If they are unable to do this, tell then politely that you are unwilling to start on the project and keep looking for honest, legitimate clients. Be careful at all time on this website, even if you do vey thing by the book and the client still doesn't pay, the Freelancer support team will not help you. It is left to you to contact the client and chase the payment even of they delete their account.
Answer: Don't share you card. Use Paypal. First of all don't use freelancer they are scammers.
