Ive already had two very bad experiences, first I almost lost a lots of money, first day I signed up and had no clue how the webpage and jobs work and second time I did a job I didn't get paid for. Customer service is great, prompt, saved my money in the first case which I'm grateful for. I just don't understand, as there are so many scams, why you allow it? Why those profiles with no information are even allowed to be there and offer anything? Shouldn't something like this, where ones time and money are in stake, be based on many more details and verification? So I don't consider Freelancer secure or trustworthy and I definitely don't think I shouldn't be the one knowing which client is scam and which not, unless I would work for you.
Yeah! Really I'm so happy for your quickly response.
I got a quick response about a question I had about a withdrawal that had not been processed within the date indicated by the system, all my questions were answered satisfactorily.
I just started with Freelancer, and so far so good, definitely I feel positive to keep working through it.
I have experience in Data Processing of over 15 Years working with a reputed company and 02 Years in freelancing work. Recently, on 15th August'2021, I joined Freelancer.com expecting genuine works from genuine clients and high earnings. Unfortunately, my experience was not that good. After applying for few projects, I got responses from three of them and all are asking for one common thing and that is - advance deposit as a security or whatsoever they term it. I know Freelancer.com does not encourage all this but eventually is not able to stop it as well.
Kindly look into it, as it is hampering your professionalism and discouraging us to apply for new projects as well.
I have already complained about it to your team.
Very good experience, supported by Donald. He was very clear and very polite.
It was really great experience with freelancer staff Mr Macall C. Who help me to make my profile more perfect using verification process for freelancer.com service. I m using freelancer from 2009, hope i will also work with freelancer in near future with successfully.
I had some issues sorted out very clearly and with great concern for the matter.
Very smooth. All my questions are answered right away. Friendly support team members. Really appreciate your service :D
I HAVE NEVER FELT THIS OSTRACIZED AND DISRESPECTED IN MY LIFE.
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! And I have been alive for 23 years and dealt with over 200 CSR.
I spoke with Russell V. who is clearly racist against black people. He reviewed my Freelancing profile, identified that I was from African descent, and refused to offer any help at all!
Russell V. is a poor excuse of a service representative. He is condescending, vindictive and clearly not educated about the company's policies.
He offered no help to assist in expediting my withdrawl which was only held up due to their negligence.
Maddox did a great job in helping me and my freelancer, it took quite a long time to search and find the links of the old invoices, and he did found each of them,
Thank you very much for the support!
Mrs. Macall Introduced the new service in Freelancer to me in a very good manner and took me through the features and also provided me some samples too.
It was an absolute pleasure to communicate with Macall. C. He thoroughly briefed me about the benefits of applying for the Freelancer Verification and responded to my queries very well.
My experience with support Freelancer was very good, they were understanding with my problem and solved it.
I have had troubles with closing my account. Support team replied to me immediately and they closed it within 2 days.
A client posted a job on Freelancer but was a scam. Judith J. Of the Freelancer Helpdesk assisted me and asked me not to give any money or personal information.
He is a professional and a nice person that helps me perfectly, reaching to me after calling the support team to solve the issue with me ( the issue was from my side)
Thanks sir and hope you the best
At first, it was all Generic but after some pushing, Maine M. Showed me his Human side and provided extra time, and lifted my Ban from the Profile.
I have been disappointed more than 150 times before with my request but for the first time Maine M. Showed me mercy and help.
I appreciate this help Maine.
I hope you are the Employee of the Month.
Answer: It is a PR platform that enables scammers to appear legitimate or verified. Freelancer doesn't care. They get a sizeable commission no matter if the posting is legitimate or not. Example: A fake ebook listing. Needs author to write 50000 words for US$ 2000. Unwitting freelancer bids and is 'awarded project' with message saying hurry up and accept. Once accepted, freelancer takes 'project fee' while you get tied up in their help callcenter trying to recoup not only the fee but potentially the fake employer gleaned from you using their platform. This site will be in the news soon. Trust me.
Answer: Hi Dejan. This happened to me in 2014, I lost a lot of money too, I withdrew the money on a Wednesday after the client had paid me $1000 in full. Then the next day, Thursday, I got a message that my withdrawal request was cancelled and the money reversed back to employer. My account was suspended and when I asked why, I was told that the employer looked like he was fraudulent and that the money might be fraud. Up to date, I am still bitter, angry and sad over that $1000 but I never got it back and Freelancer closed the person's account and that was that. So I hope this answers some of your questions and I am deeply sorry for your loss after such hard work. All the best
Answer: Freelancer.com focused on employer only, they just want as many employer and project as they can regardless of their country, verification status and deposits. However all the restriction is for employee. This is the reason Freelancer didn't stop them to post project without deposit. Almost 90% projects are fake (either posted by freelancer itself or fake/fraud employers). You have to be careful. Keep following things in mind will prevent you from fraud much. 1. Don't work for Employers from India/Bangladesh/Sri Lanka/Nigeria/Israel 2. Don't work for Employers whose name looks like Indian 3. Once the project is awarded to you, don't accept it unless the employer created initial milestone. Wait for at least 12 hours after milestone creation then accept it. 4. Ask for release step by step, don't work on next milestone unless previous is not released 5. Withdraw money from freelancer as fast as you can.
Answer: You can't say its fake but at the same time you can't just trust it fully. My point here is: people do get things done for the price but when it comes to money/payment, you can not trust freelancer. Sometimes it gets reversed from your account and you won't even get a satisfactory reason for it. I suffered a loss of 900 USD. All I get to hear that employer had some account issues and we can not disclose this any further. If you looking to work as a freelancer, go odesk or upwork and any other site first and then freelancer.com. Small incident: I worked for a client, designed the logo got the parent for it. Next day when looged in, my account showed negative balance ( payment reversed). Support: employer have acc. Issues Client: never came back or responded to any mails. Result: I worked and still in debt.
Answer: Dispute it with PayPal! Another beautiful example of why everyone hates Freelancer.
Answer: Freelancer is scam. I have very bad experience recently. "The payments you've received from your employer "-----------" were reversed due to their account issues. As a result, their account was closed" Lost over 800$. Freelancer also keep the fee for this job! Their support never answer. SCAM
Answer: Agree, do not use credit card details - freelancer is a terrible organisation when it comes to finances - they just debit your card at will, no warning, no opportunity to review the transaction, no notification of the charge - you just find out once you get your bank statement. Be very, very wary of this company - not saying their dodgy, BUT they are very devious when it comes to transactions. I think their motto is - "debit any time, just don't tell them and they wont complain"
Answer: Contact Paypal and file a dispute. I got a refund for the monthly amount that they should not have charged me for.
Answer: Good afternoon Rostyslav, unfortunately this has happened to most users of Freelancer including people who have been awarded projects. Ensure that you do not start any work or event accept a project until the following criteria have been met: 1. Project awarded 2. Initial milestone/deposit created 3. Client agrees to release the first payment immediately after you accepting the project. If they are unable to do this, tell then politely that you are unwilling to start on the project and keep looking for honest, legitimate clients. Be careful at all time on this website, even if you do vey thing by the book and the client still doesn't pay, the Freelancer support team will not help you. It is left to you to contact the client and chase the payment even of they delete their account.
Answer: Don't share you card. Use Paypal. First of all don't use freelancer they are scammers.
