I signed up as a customer and chose a freelancer to do some photoshop editing. Once we agreed on a price for the project, I had to put a deposit down, then I was asked a ton of personal information aside from just supplying a credit card for payment. Of course I declined, but was charged a bunch of fees that I've been unable to get refunded.
Used Upwork instead. All they require (like most normal businesses) is a credit card on file.

I asked about refund my money, and then one of the support team reply to me it's fine tell me your price, and then I reply to that. Another person reply to that I can't because the verification. Why you reply with the acceptance in the first time! I figured out that I don't want to verify and I want to get my money and close my account. What's wrong?

Horrible, they don't actually resolve the problems instead they mark them resolved on their own without actually resolving it. My query is still not resolved. And, I regret using freelancer.com and it's help support. Just a horrible experience.

Trying to pay the Freelancer

I was having difficulty understanding the payment system and was frustrated by lack of clear directions for payment. I could not find the necessary places to complete the payment option. The customer service agent, was patient, and got me on the correct page to finish the process.

Over eager freelancer.com sales people like Jethro working from Manilla just want to upgrade you and not keep to their promised offer. I've raised the issue with Jethro about the offer not being honored and have not heard back from him. I'll be escalating this to get my money back. Horrible experience!
