It was an easy experience. Direct and helpful. I didn't have to wait long.
I was stuck in my account verification and I wrote email to support and then the team helped me out and my account got verified within 24hours.
The services freelancer is giving is beyond expectations.
Thankyou freelancer Support Team.
Would love to seek any help from you guys in future.
Excellent response by freelancer team thank you very much.
My experience with Freelancer has been really good so far, but I had a dispute filed against me by my freelancer that definitely could have been avoided. She was absolutely right to file the dispute, as I had not yet released the first milestone we agreed upon. The trouble is that my notifications for messages from my freelancer were not appearing in my email inbox. I was moving from London to Chicago and frankly didn't have my Freelancer project on my mind for over a week. I did get notified about the dispute in my email and resolved it immediately. I figured out that I had my notifications set incorrectly, so this was user error on my part. However, I'm thinking that the structure of the Notifications tab/feature on Freelancer.com is perhaps split up into too many categories to be totally clear about which notifications one gets (or not). Again, totally my fault but I did think I had my notifications set up correctly and I didn't, which surprised me. That's all, and thank you!
I was about to sleep when I saw the notification on my mobile phone. And then read Macall's message, who offered me to join Verified Freelancer Elite program and successfully endorsed my application. I'm really happy to get this opportunity.
Thanks to Macall who has answered all of my questions.
Look I have never used this platform before, I put a small job up and this guy Muzammal put an offer in and I accepted it, he sent me a project solution that didnt work and he was keen to fix it but then he asked me to pay him outside of freelancer, so I cancelled the payment through you guys which went OK, but I told him I was not going to pay him outside of freelancer until the freelancer payment was refunded or cancelled (was not going to pay twice). Then because of the delay he wants me to go back and pay through freelancer, by this time I have had enough, and his project still didn't work so I told him I didn't want anything to do with him again, i deleted his file and I thought that was the end of it only to find freelancer is billing me a progress payment!
If I have to I will cancel the card to stop this payment.
This has not been a good experience and I will never use this platform again.
Today, I received a message (through freelancer chat) regarding applying for the Verified Freelancer program offered by the Freelancer.com platform by Macall C (@MacallVerified). Upon asking for the details of the program he initially listed all the benefits offered by the program and also mentioned a limited-time offer. As I was a bit unsure about the program, I asked Macall several questions and he patiently answered all of my questions until I was satisfied. Finally, after clearing all of my doubts, I asked him to continue with my application process which he did very quickly.
I'm really happy to apply for the program.
Although I waited for the response a little long time, but the response was what I was looking for.
The support you recently provided me with on payment method was not customized to my needs. It just seemed a ready made response which failed to address my problem specifically. You'll find that if you go back to the email correspondence we had. May be you are already overwhelmed with support requests from the many clients you serve. However, I believe that you can still do better. Regards,
Rox C helped me correct my name which was reversed by the verification team and the address had some spelling, Rox C thank you again for your kindness.
Very good very good very good very good very good very good very good
After having had unsuccessful attempt to find the profiles of applicants to my job posting, I asked for help. Support sent me a LINK to explorer. It never got me the location I needed to land on. I continued searching by clicking around on sitemap, typing words inside search box and other places. Days later just when I almost gave up, freelancer.com sent me a follow-up email. It motivated me to try again. When I clicked on the name of one applicant, Voila!, I finally saw the profile. If the support had aimed toward more employer-friendly service, they would have provided me with a direct advice like, "Just click the applicant's name" instead of sending me a LINK, which could be done by a Robot. Sending a LINK to busy employers is poor service and unkind. Because clicking one line at a time until you find something or may not find anything at all.
My account was closed (I don't know why). I tried a new password but I couldn't managed. To get help I opened new account and it is also closed. And finally I opened third account on Facebook. We solved the problem after a long mail traffic with the authorities. Thank you everyone for their help
After having initially closed my project, the milestone payments were sent to my Freelancer.com account as credit.
As I would rather the money to be refunded back to my bank account, I emailed referring to this.
Freelancer were very quick to respond and received an email from Amy V, who impressed me with how quickly she responded to my original request. This illustrates how good the customer service is and indicates that I can trust Freelancer as reliable source, and will continue to use the app and website when looking for creatives to collaborate with
Had a wonderful experience with Chelsea. Clear communications and supportive freelancer staff member

Answer: It is a PR platform that enables scammers to appear legitimate or verified. Freelancer doesn't care. They get a sizeable commission no matter if the posting is legitimate or not. Example: A fake ebook listing. Needs author to write 50000 words for US$ 2000. Unwitting freelancer bids and is 'awarded project' with message saying hurry up and accept. Once accepted, freelancer takes 'project fee' while you get tied up in their help callcenter trying to recoup not only the fee but potentially the fake employer gleaned from you using their platform. This site will be in the news soon. Trust me.
Answer: Hi Dejan. This happened to me in 2014, I lost a lot of money too, I withdrew the money on a Wednesday after the client had paid me $1000 in full. Then the next day, Thursday, I got a message that my withdrawal request was cancelled and the money reversed back to employer. My account was suspended and when I asked why, I was told that the employer looked like he was fraudulent and that the money might be fraud. Up to date, I am still bitter, angry and sad over that $1000 but I never got it back and Freelancer closed the person's account and that was that. So I hope this answers some of your questions and I am deeply sorry for your loss after such hard work. All the best
Answer: Freelancer.com focused on employer only, they just want as many employer and project as they can regardless of their country, verification status and deposits. However all the restriction is for employee. This is the reason Freelancer didn't stop them to post project without deposit. Almost 90% projects are fake (either posted by freelancer itself or fake/fraud employers). You have to be careful. Keep following things in mind will prevent you from fraud much. 1. Don't work for Employers from India/Bangladesh/Sri Lanka/Nigeria/Israel 2. Don't work for Employers whose name looks like Indian 3. Once the project is awarded to you, don't accept it unless the employer created initial milestone. Wait for at least 12 hours after milestone creation then accept it. 4. Ask for release step by step, don't work on next milestone unless previous is not released 5. Withdraw money from freelancer as fast as you can.
Answer: You can't say its fake but at the same time you can't just trust it fully. My point here is: people do get things done for the price but when it comes to money/payment, you can not trust freelancer. Sometimes it gets reversed from your account and you won't even get a satisfactory reason for it. I suffered a loss of 900 USD. All I get to hear that employer had some account issues and we can not disclose this any further. If you looking to work as a freelancer, go odesk or upwork and any other site first and then freelancer.com. Small incident: I worked for a client, designed the logo got the parent for it. Next day when looged in, my account showed negative balance ( payment reversed). Support: employer have acc. Issues Client: never came back or responded to any mails. Result: I worked and still in debt.
Answer: Dispute it with PayPal! Another beautiful example of why everyone hates Freelancer.
Answer: Freelancer is scam. I have very bad experience recently. "The payments you've received from your employer "-----------" were reversed due to their account issues. As a result, their account was closed" Lost over 800$. Freelancer also keep the fee for this job! Their support never answer. SCAM
Answer: Agree, do not use credit card details - freelancer is a terrible organisation when it comes to finances - they just debit your card at will, no warning, no opportunity to review the transaction, no notification of the charge - you just find out once you get your bank statement. Be very, very wary of this company - not saying their dodgy, BUT they are very devious when it comes to transactions. I think their motto is - "debit any time, just don't tell them and they wont complain"
Answer: Contact Paypal and file a dispute. I got a refund for the monthly amount that they should not have charged me for.
Answer: Good afternoon Rostyslav, unfortunately this has happened to most users of Freelancer including people who have been awarded projects. Ensure that you do not start any work or event accept a project until the following criteria have been met: 1. Project awarded 2. Initial milestone/deposit created 3. Client agrees to release the first payment immediately after you accepting the project. If they are unable to do this, tell then politely that you are unwilling to start on the project and keep looking for honest, legitimate clients. Be careful at all time on this website, even if you do vey thing by the book and the client still doesn't pay, the Freelancer support team will not help you. It is left to you to contact the client and chase the payment even of they delete their account.
Answer: Don't share you card. Use Paypal. First of all don't use freelancer they are scammers.
