I had very helful chat with Macy M. She was through with helping me. And my query was easily and comnpletely served. Thank you.very mych Macy M.
I joined Freelancer.com in good faith and completed a research project for a client after discussing all requirements in the chat. I delivered 7+ hours of custom work, including data collection and formatting. However, the client refused to pay after delivery, and because no milestone was created, Freelancer.com told me there was nothing they could do. Although they claim to support freelancers, their system offers zero protection if a milestone isn't manually set, even when work is fully completed and documented. Freelancer support responded politely and said "appropriate action" was taken on the client's account — but offered no compensation or way to resolve the situation. I now understand their platform policies better, but it's very frustrating and discouraging for new freelancers. Be extremely careful: never start work without a project award and milestone payment. This experience cost me hours of unpaid labor and trust in the platform. I hope they implement stronger protections for honest freelancers in the future.
I had an issue with an unexpected membership charge. The customer support team was patient, clear, and professional throughout the entire process. They helped me understand the situation and kindly issued a refund. I appreciate their prompt and courteous assistance.
Leopold assisted me in a timely manner and he prioritized my concern and escalated to the relevant team. :)
Jake S is great. Thanks from me. And i Rate 100 with Jake S (Freelancer Support)
General Support, also thanks Freelancer.com
Jake S. Helped me understand the withdrawal process clearly. He gave me useful information about processing time and weekends. Very helpful and polite support!
I opened a support ticket to help refund a charge that was fraudulently deposited to my account. Catalina M. Quickly and expertly addressed my available options and solved my issue. I was extremely worried initially that this process was going to be long and require a lot of upfront time but Catalina alleviated those concerns.
Muy buen soporte de parte de Heidi, fue muy atenta y me ayudo de manera muy eficiente a solucionar el problema..
Macy M., the support operator, gave me very good advice when adding my bank card to the system. I am pleased with her service.
I learned a lot by talking about the project. And gained a lot of knowledge, so thank you very much to the Freelancer Support Team. For helping me.
His communication was good. He easily understood my questions and informed me accordingly. Thanks Jonny
Russell couldn't have been a better host. The verification process was smooth, thorough and he was utterly professional about the questions asked. Very happy with the process and the consultant.
As a Preferred Freelancer, I've had a great experience on Freelancer.com. The program gives me access to high-quality clients and well-paying projects. The badge adds credibility, helping me stand out in a competitive marketplace. Payments are secure, and support is responsive when needed. However, the platform fees are quite high, and some clients still expect low rates despite the premium service. Overall, it's been a positive journey—worth it if you deliver top-notch work!
I'm glad to writing about my experience, with freelancer.com, thank you "Olivia T" to understand and solved my problem.
I had a very positive experience during my Freelancer Verified interview. The interviewer was patient, professional, and well-prepared. The questions were clear and relevant, and the conversation helped me feel comfortable and confident. I appreciated their respectful approach and attention to detail throughout the process. It made me feel supported as a freelancer joining the platform.
Jake S. Is quick and easy to communicate with. He clearly explains what I need to do and what has to be done. He was a great guy. I appreciate the help.
So helful. The freelance support help me about my card authentication. Step by step is clear and detail. Thank you!
I asked for him. He read my request carefully and resolved the issue for some minutes.
Thanks for him again.
I am very grateful to the freelancer help agents named Elora and Lyndon S. Thank you very much for being responsive, quick to respond and helping me who was my first time on freelancer.com. May they both always be blessed by God. I initially felt troubled and thought CS help would take a long time to respond and not help much, but it was really professional, they worked very quickly, and responded quickly too. This is the first time I will withdraw my funds so I am quite confused. But it turns out my worries disappeared after I chatted with both of them who responded to me quite quickly and helped solve my problem. Once again thank you very much. I will ask again when there is confusion on freelancer.com. Warm greetings from Indonesia.

My project payment was released automatically by system. CS advised will reverse the payment cause by this issue as i did not release it myself. CS has advised me to pause subscription mode.
Answer: It is a PR platform that enables scammers to appear legitimate or verified. Freelancer doesn't care. They get a sizeable commission no matter if the posting is legitimate or not. Example: A fake ebook listing. Needs author to write 50000 words for US$ 2000. Unwitting freelancer bids and is 'awarded project' with message saying hurry up and accept. Once accepted, freelancer takes 'project fee' while you get tied up in their help callcenter trying to recoup not only the fee but potentially the fake employer gleaned from you using their platform. This site will be in the news soon. Trust me.
Answer: Hi Dejan. This happened to me in 2014, I lost a lot of money too, I withdrew the money on a Wednesday after the client had paid me $1000 in full. Then the next day, Thursday, I got a message that my withdrawal request was cancelled and the money reversed back to employer. My account was suspended and when I asked why, I was told that the employer looked like he was fraudulent and that the money might be fraud. Up to date, I am still bitter, angry and sad over that $1000 but I never got it back and Freelancer closed the person's account and that was that. So I hope this answers some of your questions and I am deeply sorry for your loss after such hard work. All the best
Answer: Freelancer.com focused on employer only, they just want as many employer and project as they can regardless of their country, verification status and deposits. However all the restriction is for employee. This is the reason Freelancer didn't stop them to post project without deposit. Almost 90% projects are fake (either posted by freelancer itself or fake/fraud employers). You have to be careful. Keep following things in mind will prevent you from fraud much. 1. Don't work for Employers from India/Bangladesh/Sri Lanka/Nigeria/Israel 2. Don't work for Employers whose name looks like Indian 3. Once the project is awarded to you, don't accept it unless the employer created initial milestone. Wait for at least 12 hours after milestone creation then accept it. 4. Ask for release step by step, don't work on next milestone unless previous is not released 5. Withdraw money from freelancer as fast as you can.
Answer: You can't say its fake but at the same time you can't just trust it fully. My point here is: people do get things done for the price but when it comes to money/payment, you can not trust freelancer. Sometimes it gets reversed from your account and you won't even get a satisfactory reason for it. I suffered a loss of 900 USD. All I get to hear that employer had some account issues and we can not disclose this any further. If you looking to work as a freelancer, go odesk or upwork and any other site first and then freelancer.com. Small incident: I worked for a client, designed the logo got the parent for it. Next day when looged in, my account showed negative balance ( payment reversed). Support: employer have acc. Issues Client: never came back or responded to any mails. Result: I worked and still in debt.
Answer: Dispute it with PayPal! Another beautiful example of why everyone hates Freelancer.
Answer: Freelancer is scam. I have very bad experience recently. "The payments you've received from your employer "-----------" were reversed due to their account issues. As a result, their account was closed" Lost over 800$. Freelancer also keep the fee for this job! Their support never answer. SCAM
Answer: Agree, do not use credit card details - freelancer is a terrible organisation when it comes to finances - they just debit your card at will, no warning, no opportunity to review the transaction, no notification of the charge - you just find out once you get your bank statement. Be very, very wary of this company - not saying their dodgy, BUT they are very devious when it comes to transactions. I think their motto is - "debit any time, just don't tell them and they wont complain"
Answer: Contact Paypal and file a dispute. I got a refund for the monthly amount that they should not have charged me for.
Answer: Good afternoon Rostyslav, unfortunately this has happened to most users of Freelancer including people who have been awarded projects. Ensure that you do not start any work or event accept a project until the following criteria have been met: 1. Project awarded 2. Initial milestone/deposit created 3. Client agrees to release the first payment immediately after you accepting the project. If they are unable to do this, tell then politely that you are unwilling to start on the project and keep looking for honest, legitimate clients. Be careful at all time on this website, even if you do vey thing by the book and the client still doesn't pay, the Freelancer support team will not help you. It is left to you to contact the client and chase the payment even of they delete their account.
Answer: Don't share you card. Use Paypal. First of all don't use freelancer they are scammers.
