Can't beat their sales!

I have no idea about these other women claiming they lost thousands of dollars at FMG. Doesn't sound accurate or True if you ask me. Moving on, personally I love them! I visit their website everyday. They have new sales any day of the week and can come and go at any time so you always have to be watching! That's what everyone needs to know about this site. Best advice visit every single day twice a day even and ONLY buy from their sales and only buy less than 10 pounds to get the $5.99 shipping rate. Buy lots of the same stuff in bulk and sell it off fast for triple fast! So easy a kid can do it. Your welcome! Now everyone quit your BITC***N ALREADY!

After a lengthy and painstaking process Fire Mountain Gems refunded all four rolls of Sterling for me so now I retract my review that at least they took care of this it was a very stressful process but in the end they did right by what they should do

I am very upset with the company return policy change. I had happy relationships with this company until they RETROACTIVELY changed their IRONCLAD 100% RETURN ANYTIME NO QUESTIONS ASKED policy. I have been a small business owner since 2011 and since that time made more then 100 orders from this company. I am a Platinum Customer which means I purchase more than $10,000 in merchandise per year.

Over time, I collected quite a large inventory of their items for the projects which are still pending. The first time I heard about change of the policy was in March 2017 when I received E-mail from Claudia, Platinum Department Customer Service representative. The return policy was changed on December 16 without any announcement. That means around $6,000 of my money got locked into company's assets. I do not wish to continue any further business with this company. I will definitely complain to State of Oregon Department of Justice.

I have always had a good experience with Fire Mountain Gems. Their photos truly represent the crystal colors and I haven't had to return any of those. I ordered the wrong clasps a couple of times and received a prompt credit and they shipped what I wanted instead right away. I have used the company for 2 years now and don't have any complaints. I have talked to customer service a few times to clarify what I needed and they haven't steered me wrong. I like the prices. If I have a negative experience I'll be sure to post but so far, so good!

Buyer beware

Ordered a few items to test the waters so to speak.
Most importantly, a 16" strand of 8mm crystal quartzite beads and a 5mm, 16" strand of moonstone beads
Not sized as ordered. Metric calipers confirm they are 7mm and 4mm respectively which I already have in spades and can easily find.
Called customer service and was told that I must return items at my own expense if I want a refund which amounts to little more than Fire Mountain Gems perpetuating a grand scam. Moving forward with such a policy they can effectively unload anything on the unsuspecting public and get away with it.
Buyer Beware, my fledgling encounter tells a woeful tale. Does not bode well for future E-Commerce interactions,

I have been purchasing from Fire Mountain for several years now there's one particular style of chain that is my go-to chain the last four rolls of chain that I've purchased from them which is supposed to be sterling silver is completely yellow and you cannot get it clean even with the sterling silver paste and a toothbrush I am in the process to see if they are going to correct this I have no idea how many pieces are out there that have this defective chain I have to replace all my existing merchandise with new chain that I know that is the quality that I put out and I am disabled and I make this jewelry to raise money for my medical treatment for my extremely rare disease I am livid! They will be hearing from me tomorrow morning again if they do not refund my money I will dispute the charges I will report them to the BBB I will do whatever I can to make sure that they take advantage of no one else in this way so not only has it cost me potentially thousands of dollars I can also get it bad reputation for putting out stuff that is not the quality that I say it is I am devastated

My order is fine

I'm not sure what others are banging on about but I've had two (smallish) shipments to Australia and they've been fine. No problems at all... apart from the exchange rate!
I'd like to see the catalogue less busy... I love going through it but there's no way I could order from it. Tooooo busy. Online is so much easier.

Really fast shipping!
The variety is really great on FireMountainGems. You can get products spanning a wide range of prices and quality. I've ordered from them thrice, but you have to be REALLY selective. For example, on my first order, I ordered some Grade C gemstones because they were... well... cheap. After getting them, I realised they obviously looked cheap and some of the stones could not be used.
From my experience, FireMountainGems does not make false claims and the pricing is competitive (when compared to most beading sites). I also haven't gotten faulty stuff from them. However, they really compromise quality for prices. When getting higher quality products, the stuff may actually finally be as expensive as that of other sites. I actually got better (and cheaper) pearls on etsy and jewelrysupply.com.
Most of their stuff comes from China, occasionally India. Metal products also seem to contain lead/nickel (all this information is presented very ambiguously).
I may order from them again, although the probability of that happening has been reduced by their new shipping policy.

C grade potato pearls shown in photo attached. They look okay.

Have to choose wisely

I have been buying from them for years and have never had 1 issue. Like Walmart, target, and Shopko. All have similar stuff but different prices as well as quality. Yes some things are way overpriced. But like someone else said the prices on swavorski crystals are amazing. They have a swavorski store and have a necklace almost identical that I made with mom Costed us 45 to make and they are selling it for 399.99. So right there is an example. And last time I checked it was a businesses job to make money. And I'll put money on it that 90 of you that were complaining have went into one of these mall jewelery store and bought someone something while u paid a 700% mark up. I only buy crystals, seed beads and beading wire. Moral of the story is shop around for the best deals.

This company which suddenly turned into a criminal enterprise has RETROACTIVELY modified its return policy as of Dec 2016. That means anyone who made purchases more than 90 days prior to the change has lost their right to return - or that's what the company wants you to believe. I contacted my attorney about it who suggested I first make a complaint via the State of Oregon. All states have consumer protection statutes that prohibit deceptive business practices. What this company has done is downright disgusting and totally dishonest. When we made purchases via their site, we relied on their return policy. WE ENTERED INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE COMPANY based on that return policy. The company CANNOT unilaterally modify that policy. Everyone MUST contact the Oregon Dept of Justice, Consumer Protection. File an online complaint with all the necessary details and it will be investigated as a deceitful, deceptive practice and should allow folks to make the returns. My attorney also said this could amount to a rather huge class action case. DO NOT let them get away with it. When too many people start complaining, the Oregon Attorney General might step in and take care of these criminals. I am old and have seen a lot of despicable behavior by businesses, but to revise a return policy retroactively after countless people made purchases BASED ON their liberal return policy is just off the charts unacceptable. I have a copy of the original return policy if you want to include it with your complaint. Write to me at czkenney at gmail if you want a copy. This is a disposable address & will be closed at some point.

Strongly dissapointed

I have been buying from Fire Mountain Gems for over 25 yrs. As of today, I will no longer support them. They had a wonderful return and exchange policy. Until now. "3" weeks ago I called them and requested copies of my invoices from 2016 in order to make a return. I recieved the invoices last week. I packed the return, according to how Fire Mountain requests it to be done. I mailed it priority mail. Today I get a message from returns that they were going to mail my package back to me because apparently their return policy changed "3" weeks ago. I was not informed of any new policies regarding my return when I requested the invoices from 2016, "3" weeks ago. So, I believe I was not informed "3" weeks ago about the policy being changed, because it had not actually been changed yet. So when I called to discuss my dissapointment and anger with Fire Mountain Gems supervisor, I was told the owner made the change and there was absolutely nothing that could be done. But if I wanted to, I could send a letter to the owner. But there was no number I could call to speak directly to the owner or leave a message. Although after speaking with another person, she offered to write down my complaint and pass it on to the owner's assistant. Not certain that will happen or that it will make a bit of difference. So, now I am stuck with a lot of expensive Swarovski beads that I can not use and my personal jewelry business will suffer as a direct result. Apparently 25+ yrs of my loyal support and many thousands of dollars spent over those yrs, account for nothing. So if a letter is what they want, I will write several in the form of online business reviews. I do not recommend this company, they were not honest with me, they cost me money and left me with a problem resulting in a direct loss of money for my jewelry business. They are expensive, and Swarovski beads can be purchased much cheaper online through other companies. The only reason I bought from them, was because I have been a loyal customer for so long. Not any more. I stopped buying strands of gem stones, pearls and sterling silver years ago because of the poor quality and over pricing.

Can't count on quality

If it's a good deal it's probably a flawed bead. They have some really cheap beads. Sometimes incorrectly ship a different item and it's trouble to get the return done. As I get more and more into selling jewelry this site lets me down. The prices are too high to make a profit. There are many broken beads in every strand. Riogrande jewelry supply has quality beads for high end jewelry designers. Thunderbird supply has its place as well. I think this site is more for crafters than jewelry designers.

I've bought from Fire Mountain for years, and not only have I never had a problem, but they have some of the best REAL Swavorski SALE prices around. They have the new colors and patterns from Swavorski every year, and they provide FREE jewelry patterns and help for everyone from the novice to the expert. They have great beads, findings, and other materials at great prices. Shipping is also now flat rate priority, which is cheaper and faster for everyone.

I have been ordering from Fire Mountain for over 5 years. I have always seen a large selection of items to choose from. This includes color, shape, or grade. I have also been impressed with their shipping. I can pay only $5 and my order shows up in 2 days. I have to pay 5 times that with other online bead companies and it takes weeks.

This is a great company some reviews say they don't like having to buy 100 of the same items to get the big discounts YOU DON'T HAVE TOO BUY 100 ITEMS Of THE SAME THING it can be 100 different items you don't have to buy even 2 of the same thing it's 100 of any items and their customer service is great very helpful and yes sometimes there might be a boo boo in your order but just let them know and they are glad to help you and fix the problem I'm so glad I found them they have always been exceptional in customer service when ever there has been a boo boo ok try them you will love them too

Big supply of products to choose from, but they sort of punish the small business owners by only catering to big buyers. You only get discounts if you buy 100 or more of each item. Too expensive. I very rarely buy from them. I can't charge people $100 for something that should only cost them $20.
