So I went to another Applebees and purchased $55.96 before tax and tips, got my promo code this time and have been trying for a the last hour to purchase tickets and redeem the reward, only to get about a dozen failed attempts, error: "Sorry, unable to process your order …". Your service is a RIP OFF… I have screen shots of several of these errors … and this after being unable to even receive promo code from a similar purchase at a different Applebees… so far over I've spent over $100 at Applebees and unable to get a single ticket to Top Gun… your customer service replied to my first complaint of did NOTHING. Out of Good Faith I tried again at the second Applebees and the promo code DOES NOT WORK … your service is a FRAUD
Told me they would replace my movie certificates that expired during the pandemic and are now refusing to do so. They do not respond to emails or messages via social media. Waited on their chat feature for over 2 hours and was never connected with anyone. AWFUL customer service. Will avoid using again at all costs.
Dealing with an "open case" for almost two weeks now. Everytime I call, hold times are ridiculous, I get a callback almost an hour later. I've asked for a CREDIT, not even a refund for tickets I was unable to use due to being exposed to someone who tested positive for Covid. My request was denied after my request had to be escalated TWICE. Due to not response. No reason was given as to why my request was denied either, just given the run around as to "maybe" this is why. Super frustrated that as a long time Fandango customer I couldn't at least get a credit.

As all the others reviews have said, fandango gets the poor review because of their refund policy. Bottom line, DO NOT give fandango gift cards as a gift to the movie lover in your life, Cinemark is a MUCH better voice. Basically if you need to request an exchange or refund after your movie starts your SOL. The reason this is such a bad policy is because it questions people's integrity. They are assuming you have used the tickets and now want a refund when in fact, when people don't make a movie they bought tickets for its typically because of an extenuating circumstance. My husband and I bought tickets ($28) but couldn't make the theater so we decided to see a later showing at a different theater, (same brand). When I went to make the exchange (12 minutes after the start of the original listed showtime) I was denied. I wrote Fandango to explain the situation and the response was that they have to enforce their no refund/exchange policy once the posted show time passes. No exceptions. This is unfortunate. I go to the movies A LOT and I can tell you, Cinemark is a much better option if you're going to buy someone a gift card for movies.
Looks like a common theme here…dont use the $5 promo code they send you because if you need to exchange them, you'll have a better chance of seeing the face of God.

I would give them a 0 star if I could. I was charged twice for tickets and contacted customer service and it took them over 6 months to respond. Very rude with their response and would not refund me for the tickets they charged me twice for. Never buying from them again. Terrible.
Accidentally ordered tickets for the wrong movie theater, but no one is answering my online support request. The phone number ( 1-800-FANDANGO) provided in the first email response (just a generic message & not an actually reply to my question) generates a busy tone immediately without ringing once.

Rude customer service and I wish I had never purchased with them. My car broke down on the way to the theater and I couldn't make it. When I tried to get an exchange or refund they refused.
Fandango gives the option to pay via card or Venmo. So I chose Venmo. I was then led off Fandango into Venmo and secured the purchase. No email ever came from Fandango with tickets, although the payment went thru. When trying to contact Fandango a generated conversation leads you to another site called just answer. DO NOT GO THERE. They want to charge you another $1 to try to resolve the issue, but you are actually signing up for $48 monthly fee to automatically come off your CC.
Try to cancel or get a refund? There is no way to get past the window of conversation leading you to "Just Answer". Money Lost, and missed the movie.

I was already ready to stop using Fandango due to the incessant popover ads that sometimes happen while trying to find a movie time and theater... and due to them always asking for reviews after I paid a fee to use their service in the first place. But now there is no doubt that the company has gone downhill.
I accidentally selected Friday instead of Saturday while making a purchase. I didn't know until I got a message asking how I enjoyed the movie -- except it was still Friday night. I emailed and asked if there was a way to just get tickets for Saturday (I don't want a refund, I just didn't realize it purchased tickets for Friday). Fandangos customer support completely ignored the email. I emailed a second time on Tuesday and informed them that I would be using another service since they can't even be bothered to reply and say "Sorry, we can't help, maybe talk to the theater manager."... Still absolutely no response and it has now been two weeks.
When a company has so little regard for their customers that they can't even reply and tell them there's nothing they can do to help, it's time to move on to a better company.
I purchased movie tickets via Fandago. I called the day of the movie to try to receive a refund, but being that the movie had started 5 mins prior, I was not able to get one. I had more important things going on- my car broke down 5 minutes from the theater and I was on the side of the road with my small child. I understand policies, but I also understand what giving good customer service is like. The person we spoke to over the phone did not provide good customer service.
I would expect for something like this to have never happened with an individual before and the movie had just started, that there could be an exception made in this situation. We paid $70 for nothing. We did purchase these tickets again, but not through you all. Please get better customer service skills.
Why buy from them when you can buy directly from the theate, terrible customer service and policy. I could not get credit or a refund when my son pur the wrong movie theater ticket. Clearly the tickets didn't get scanned and we purchased 20 minutes before the movie started
Tried to get a refund via their app but since we had a $5.00 coupon the app couldn't do it. So I want to the cinema to do in person, it wouldn't work or the same reason. I took a few screen shots to send a note later to customer service to prove we tried before the movie and the issues with their $5.00 coupon was giving me. I looked for a phone number on the app and couldn't easily find one. Contacted the lawyer just to have them tell me they weren't going to give us credit. Crappy customer service and crappy overpriced "service". We now have a monthly membership to Cinemark and that is really great. I highly suggest doing the same. Probably save $7 or $8 on every movie we watch plus a decent discount on concessions.
I am avid movie goer and was using Fandango. When a $5 reward did not go through due to technical issues, I was promised it would go via corporate and come through. After more than half dozen calls, I was not delivered promise by representatives of $5 reward from corporate. I feel that the representatives - Brandon, Patricia, and Ursula wasted my time and denied me the $5 reward I was entitled to. I do not reccoment Fandango, their customer service is horrible.
After earning the $5 reward, it expires too soon. I haven't gotten to use mine the last two times. So just now I tried to redeem my current reward WHICH I EARNED and Fandango won't let me use it on the movie I want to see. They restrict the movies you can choose from if you use the reward. Terrible company and service!

If there is any mistake made while ordering tickets you do not have recourse to get your money back. My young granddaughter ordered tickets online to a Cinemark 14. Unfortunately, it was in another state, so when we got to the theater we had to order new tickets. I tried to get a refund but they don't give them once the show starts. We always try to miss previews and don't worry about it because our seats are saved. The fact that there are no exceptions makes this a loosing proposition for customers. There is no customer service to speak of if you try to contact Fandango, you will wait on line for an hour to be told that their contracts do not allow refunds. I hope that Cinemark and other vendors rethink their alliance with this system.
Answer: Shauna, try Ken's suggestion. After years as a loyal customer & "Fan" of Fandango, I had an issue that should have been easily resolved. When I finally spoke to a live CSR, the response & subsequent email were robotic & useless. I now buy gift cards from the theatres & save my $$ and time. Good luck to you, though!
Answer: You do Julie S., but if you purchase it within 2 hours of the movie you are out of luck and that's what I happened to do. I accidentally chose that same day rather than the next day (Saturday) and since I was within a 2 hour time frame they said too bad. Never will use them again that's for sure. It was an honest mistake and I explained that but the woman on the phone was very nasty.
Answer: I would try emailing them, unfortunately there is no one to call as far as I know. If that doesn't work why don't you try calling a theater near you that takes fandango, ask for a manager. Answer: I didn't wake up with a dead horse in my bed but all other evidence in dealing with Fandango indicate that they are mob-owned. Perhaps the mob has more morals. Maybe not mob-owned. What would be worse than the mob because that's likely who owns them. Difficult question to answer. Best not to do business with them anyway.
