I searched for tickets to a movie at my local theatre (San Mateo, CA Century 12). I clicked your website and it took me to a list of movies at my theatre. I saw the movie I wanted and clicked on it. I saw times and clicked on the time I wanted. What I didn't now was that when I clicked the movie it sent me a list of theatres. For some reason the top of the list was a theatre in Seattle, WA, I live near San Mateo, CA. I tried to use the tickets at my local theatre and they wouldn't work. I didn't realize until I was in line that your website sent me to a theatre in Seattle, not even the same theatre chain.
I submitted a customer service concern regarding the VIP club and received no response. I also tried their online AI customer service rep and it was a flop as well. It couldn't answer basic questions and I could not access a real person. I have dumped Fandango because it is useless.
I purchased tickets at 7:24 through Fandango but I did not receive a confirmation email until 7:33 which was after the movie started. When I was at the ticket gate I had no email from Fandango. The theater employees told me they were having problems with Fandango and that I would need to purchase tickets directly from them. When I requested a refund from Fandango, they said I can't have a refund once the movie starts. I sent them screen shots of my emails from them and the receipts from the theater for tickets I purchased at the theater. I emailed back and forth 7 times to no avail. Never will use them again.
Bought movie tickets thru FANDANGO for a movie in my area Sarasota FL. We went to the movie theater early and showed them the FANDANGO online tickets. They said it was for the movie in Miami, over 4 hours away. The movie theater manager gave us the FANDANGO phone number to call. We waited for over 20 minutes and finally left our number for a call back. We paid to see the movie in our theater in Sarasota. When we got out of the movie FANDANGO called and said they couldn't refund the money because the movie in Miami was over. DO NOT BUY USING FANDANGO. The manager at our theater said to go online to their theater website and buy directly from them, you save the fee and the check your location for the theater near you and movies playing near you. What a 21st Century idea!
Let me start by saying I messed up. I purchased tickets via Flixter, which I had done before, and never received the tickets. The reason was that I mistyped my email. OK... shouldn't be a big deal, except when I sent an email the response I received was that they would get back to me within 72 hours. Whoops, the movie was the next day. As I didn't receive my tickets, I went to the theater and bought two more. I get an email on Monday (original purchase was on Friday) saying that they only refund tickets that haven't passed the movie date, but please call to discuss. Talked to Albert, nice enough guy, but he immediately let me know he couldn't help, he had to escalate the issue. OK... so today I get an email from Sakariya Farah (fandango customer support), letting me know that because of policy they could not offer a refund. So ok, it's a measly $20.00 but to screw over a client who would and has spent much more using their service is pretty damned stupid. Whoever is in charge should take a course in customer service. I can recommend a few other things that they should be doing, but rant is done... so am I with Fandango...
I purchased tickets for the wrong theatre on Baldwin Road in Auburn, MI, I live in California and was attempting to purchase tickets for the Baldwin Hills AMC theatre. There is a 3 hour time zone which prevented me from correcting my error "before" the movie started! I called the Auburn theatre manager and she could not help me. I finally found contact information and composed my email…the response was wait 72 hours, no response came. I found the customer service line and she said that there was nothing they could do because I waited too late. I really wanted my $34.00 back. Customer Service Rep said that I could not speak to a supervisor (they don't talk to "any"customers) she would pass it on but no guarantee, this is the last response, "We are unable to offer a refund or exchange (see our return policy regar I suggested certain" restrictions based on theatre chain) and then they recommend I open a free Fandango VIP account…and then the email said thank you for "understanding" and she hopes that I will "continue" to make Fandango my choice for online movie tickets
That same day I purchased tickets for the correct theatre but that is the last tickets I buy via Fandango! Shady…Shady…Shady
I purchased e-gift cards for movies with them - then COVID hit. They stayed closed for a long time and refused to accept my pre-paid vouchers. I filed a formal complaint with the Pennsylvania Attorney General and have received return correspondence from them. The complaint will be entered into a country-wide database for ALL to view.
I got free movie codes for buying Kelloggs Products. The codes would not work. I tried contacting Fandango 3 or 4 times before the codes expired and they said they were looking into it. They are still looking into it as of today and the codes are now expired. They sent me an email today and said we can not help you because your codes are expired. Duh they were not expired when I first talked with them. So dishonest. Worst customer service. Makes me wonder if they are going out of business. They were not willing to do anything to help. Very disapointed. I will never do business with them again and I hope Kelloggs doesnt either. Not worth the hassle I had to go through especially with no resolution.
Bad/non-existent customer service. Impossible to get refund. Buy at the theater. They are lot more likely to give refunds and be helpful than Fandango. I use the app only to look at the show timings but never for buying tickets.
After we checked out, the movie date we had selected had somehow changed, which we didn't realize until later. Received no confirmation email. We only had a screenshot to check our purchase, which we did on the date we had planned to go. I regret not checking the screenshot for the details immediately. I had no reason to think the date would change. No live person ever joined the chat we opened. When we emailed them, they refused to give us a refund. Their app seems buggy, customer service is very poor, and their business practices make this service feel unreliable at the very least.
Was given a gift card from my wife's employer Baptist Health Link, tried to use the card on June 13 2022 and it did not work, called customer service and was on hold for 1 hour and 20 minutes, spoke with Evangelina from Fandango customer service and she said it was deactivated by Fandango due to not being used in a certain time frame, notified her it was due to a pandemic for the last 2 years that's why it was not used, she did a case number and never heard back since, called back on June 20 2022 and was on hold for 51 minutes before I was disconnected with no answer, called back and had them call me, an option that is available so I am not waiting around, they called me back 44 minutes later and spoke to a rep, he said he needed to transfer me to another department, I was on hold for exactly 4 hours and then I was disconnected, i was spending the day with my youngest daughter making a joke to how long it would take for them to answer and couldn't believe how long and then being hung up on, I even took screenshots of the times on hold, reached on on Facebook Fandango page and they responded that it takes about 7-8 days to get a new card issued, well today is July 7 2022 24 days later and still no response, my opinion go directly through the movie theatre, Baptist Health Link is now considering not using Fandango any longer due to numerous employees problems with cards they were given.
We recently visited Applebee's in order to take advantage of the Top Gun movie ticket promotion. For every $25 spent, you would receive a movie ticket. We spent $58, therefore earning 2 tickets. I submitted necessary info and they claimed my receipt was missing info. I submitted a photo and they sent my info to another department for further verification. I kept emailing to find out status of my tickets. Never a response from their customer service until my email today, again asking. I'm now being told that the promotion is over and they don't have to honor my fulfillment. This is poor customer service any way you look at it.
We filed a refund request on June 14,2022 for two tickets we cancelled a day in advance of a movie due to medical issues. To date we have not received an acknowledgement of our request nor a refund.
Unfortunately, we received the gift card as a gift so it is hard to tell people that give you a gift that it turned out badly.
Fandango provides zero ways to communicate (that we could find) with them if you have an issue.
When I traveled to Portland, I purchased two tickets on fandango, in advanced. While on a tour, I found out that I wouldn't be able to make the show, so I went on the app to cancel for fandango credits for a later movie show. The Problem was that the connectivity in the mountains and although I thought I cancelled the show. I also was able to email the fandango support site in trying to cancel the show, with the response email to cancel the show through the app. Anyways when I looked back into the app I felt that I cancelled the show because it didn't appear in the My tickets' section. I thought I cancelled the show. Apparently it didn't and after the show time ended I started to receive email alerts stating how did I enjoy the show. I then contacted directly a fandango phone support person who listened to my story and told me that I have a great case since he seen I tried to cancel the movie earlier before the show started through email and app contacts. But he could only relay it to the next level of support. Anyways a couple of days later, I receive a response that states a refund can't be done since they didn't receive the cancellation before the show started and the movie chain (Regal) does not give refunds after the show started. I contacted the Regal theatres and they stated that they could've given me my refund if I ordered the tickets directly through them since they would be able to see that I didn't go to the show, but since I purchased through fandango they can't give me a refund. So I learned my lesson that it's better to order tickets directly from the movie chain website. I gave 2 stars because the app looks good.
I paid and booked a movie at 2:07PM for a 2:00PM showing on Friday. I accidentally meant to choose the 2:00 showing of that movie on Sunday, not the current Friday. I wanted to just exchange the time. "Movies cannot be refunded or exchanged after the start of the movie." There is no where to find a phone number to speak to a real person at Fandango. I chatted with zero response. Then I finally filed a claim. They emailed saying they couldn't help me and they would escalate my case. This did nothing but have them send me another email saying they could no do anything.
Very simple Really: I bought movie tickets for Jurassic World Dominion 3D for 6/23/22 for a 6:15pm showing. My page refreshed on its own and reverted me to the date of 6/22/22 "my current date" which I had no idea it happened until l received an e-mail asking me how I liked the movie. I then proceeded to pull up my tickets and the dates were not the dates I chose, instead they were for the same day I was currently in. I read on the email that you cannot refund after to show time... I thought this can't be correct surly they can see the tickets were not scanned. SO I decided to call... which finding there number was not the easiest, or getting them to answer there phone. None the less after over a full hour I got a call back and I explained what happened. The customer service Associate read to me what he was supposed to... which was basically your out of luck. So I then tired LOGIC which did not work at all... I posed the question if you did not use something and it was the wrong item you should be able to get your money back... the person actually agreed with me but said they could not nor did they have the ability to fix it. So after our conversation and after the fact I started reading the reviews and found this is how they make a living by scamming people. Maybe they accidently chose the wrong theater, the wrong movie, the wrong time, and yes the wrong day... so sad for your bad luck because FANDANGO.COM doesn't care. There business plan is to actually Make it to hard and time consuming to get your money back so the client just moves on and forgets it. Its the principle of the matter, the principle is... if this happened to you would you be happy, the simple answer is no. That being you can deduct that this company nether cares or appreciates there customers. I am curious Though on the BBB site that there rated A+ yet they have a one star on the very same site? Jurassic Dominon came out in theatres and Carl Jr restraunt had a special If you buy primal meal you'll get free movie ticket to see Jurrassic Domion so my boyfriend and I bought into the deal and Fandango offered the tickets it was so easy to get the code to work the day we went to the theatre which landed on a QR code for the movie ticket person to scan. I've used Fandango in the past through thete tv app when I'd get promotions I'd use to rent movies. This is the first time I've bought tickets through Fandango and seems pretty fast and cool. This is one the best movie apps out there to buy movie tickets and rent and there is also a point system in there site to earn products like free movies or rentals, I use occasionally.
What a rip off! You buy the gift cards which you can ONLY use online, but you get charged a convenience fee? I will never purchase or even receive another Fandango gift card under any circumstance. Highway robbery!
SCAM LIKE: Attempted to use the fandango site. Purchased my tickets for Sat and didn't realize the system selected Fri. When I attempted to resolve the issue nobody answered or returned my call and because it was after the showing they refused a refund... When I went in to purchase the tickets once again, the system selected yet another, date... I WILL NEVER use fandango moving forward and do not recommend using the whack service when you can just buy direct.
I bought tickets through fandango through Venmo and I assumed I would get a confirmation email with the QR code. However when I came to the movie theater I found out that I only got a confirmation email from Venmo who obviously doesn't have the ticket. Completely scammed me and doesn't answer phone when I tried to dispute. Absolutely horrible. Never use it. Save some money
Answer: Shauna, try Ken's suggestion. After years as a loyal customer & "Fan" of Fandango, I had an issue that should have been easily resolved. When I finally spoke to a live CSR, the response & subsequent email were robotic & useless. I now buy gift cards from the theatres & save my $$ and time. Good luck to you, though!
Answer: You do Julie S., but if you purchase it within 2 hours of the movie you are out of luck and that's what I happened to do. I accidentally chose that same day rather than the next day (Saturday) and since I was within a 2 hour time frame they said too bad. Never will use them again that's for sure. It was an honest mistake and I explained that but the woman on the phone was very nasty.
Answer: I would try emailing them, unfortunately there is no one to call as far as I know. If that doesn't work why don't you try calling a theater near you that takes fandango, ask for a manager. Answer: I didn't wake up with a dead horse in my bed but all other evidence in dealing with Fandango indicate that they are mob-owned. Perhaps the mob has more morals. Maybe not mob-owned. What would be worse than the mob because that's likely who owns them. Difficult question to answer. Best not to do business with them anyway.
