Was a lot of walking and stair climbing. But I'm 85 and not quite as ambulatory as I once was. All and all my wife and I enjoyed the trip and were glad we went.

Terrible Experience with Exoticca– Avoid at All Costs

I recently booked a 9-day Portugal tour through this company, only to discover two weeks later that the exact same package dropped by 35% in price. When I politely contacted them to request a price adjustment or partial refund, their response was dismissive: "Our prices fluctuate up and down, and we don't compensate for that." No empathy, no goodwill—just a flat refusal.

Impossible to Reach by Phone
Getting through to customer service is a nightmare. I literally spent two full days listening to hold music just to speak with an agent for 5 minutes. You'll endure hours of endless hold music, with calls frequently dropping. Worse, if you're calling from a number they have on file (linked to your booking), their system recognizes you instantly, confirms your reservation details (like your destination), and shoves you into a 75+ minute queue—as happened to me. I hung up in frustration and redialed from a different phone: an agent picked up in 1 minute. This feels like deliberate design to discourage complaints.

Unhelpful and Uninterested Agents
Once connected—after all that effort—the agent admitted she could do absolutely nothing: no hotel upgrade, no refund, no adjustments whatsoever. They speak in a rote, uninterested monotone, refusing to engage with your situation or escalate. It's clear they follow a script with no flexibility or customer focus.

This company is flooded with similar bad reviews online, yet they seem utterly unconcerned—classic signs of a business that doesn't value repeat customers or reputation. Save your money and frustration; choose a competitor with fair pricing policies and actual support. 1 star – Stay away!

Positive experience on Chile and Easter Island trip. Highly recommend. Everything times right and delivered at excellent value.

All the connections, minus our pickup at the airport, went without a hitch and we had many connections on this trip.
Independently, I have traveled fairly extensively in Central and South America and the accommodations we had on our Exoticca trip were better than most I've experienced. The 'charm' accommodations were well above, in terms of cleanliness and amenities, as to what I would rate as charm for this region.
The guides were helpful and courteous with our Amazon guide, Carlos, being fantastic. He really took the time to stop and show us and explain the culture/flora/fauna of the area.
Having multiple days unscheduled was great allowing us to go explore on our own at each location.

Wonderful time of year to visit. Iceland is a magical country and the people were very welcoming. A must visit for the Northern Lights!

It was a great surprise to meet people from other countries. Organization was great! The tourist manager had knowledge of every city and gave us good recommendations. The driver was very gentle and drove safe. Exoticca, picked great cities and attractions. I will travel again with them!

Over all very good. Getting picked up before departure we had to contact agent driver was late. Hotel agent contacted exotica agent was helpful. Turned out driver whent to wrong hotel.

We covered an amazing amount of ground and had an incredible number of lifetime experiences. This trip was far more than we were expecting.

At first I didn't know how to use your self directed system had doubts asking machines my concerns instead of talk to real humans. I'm glad I was able to talk to a live person.

A guide is with us all the way from Rome to Florence and Venice. We also visit some beautiful small towns such as Orvieto, Assisi, Bologna. The local guides in each of cities are very knowledgeable and professional.

Booking this trip was an absolute breeze from start to finish. The talented and professional staff who assisted me through the process were knowledgeable and attentive. The day before our arrival in Turkey, we received a detailed WhatsApp message with clear instructions on how to find our ride, along with a 24/7 emergency contact number in case we encountered any issues. We truly felt well cared for in a country that was completely new to us. Our hotel was spotless and truly lived up to its "Superior" upgrade — perfectly located in the heart of Istanbul, making it easy to explore nearby restaurants and local shops. Our guide, Shasha, deserves special recognition. Her professionalism, quick thinking, and impeccable timing made our sightseeing experience seamless and enjoyable. Thanks to her, we avoided the large crowds that many other tourists faced. Overall, our experience exceeded 5 stars. I wholeheartedly recommend this platform to any prospective traveler — you will not be disappointed!

From the very beginning we felt safe. Our tour guide was waiting for as at the airport as promised.
Everything was happening according to the plan.
Bus drivers were excellent. Henry Morales (tour guide going to Puno) and Lily (in Puno) went out of their regular schedule to help us. Henry bought a traditional bread for us to taste, which was a nice touch on a very long drive to Puno. He even helped us to find the store we were looking for in Puno. This was after his hours. Trip to Machu Picchu was very well organized. We all knew what to do and when. Everything was happening according to schedule.
The only complaint was the accommodation in Cusco. We were on a busy street with a lot of cars honking and a smell of fumes. Too bad we were not closer to the old town.
Accommodation in the Secret Valley (Urubamba hotel)was the best experience ever. I would love to spend more time there. This place was like heaven on earth! Overall, the trip was a fantastic experience and will definitely recommend it to anybody.

A great way to go to a new country. Wonderful that the flights and hotels (clean and comfortable) were booked for me. I also appreciated the ability to connect with Exoticca staff using What's App.

Egypt was fantastic we had a great tour guide that I highly recommend. His name is Elai. Dubai the place we stayed was not as good as the other places we stayed in Egypt so I was a little disappointed. I also bought a tour in Dubai that it can be done on Saturday and for any reason we did not do that tour but a different one. So another disappointment..

First time travelling on a tour trip, even though some locations were far away and transport to these locations were long, exotica provided the best service and was in constant communication with the group through Whatapps

Sales agents were nice but you need to provide more details about the tour itself while selling it, post sale contact with exoticca was terrible, could not contact a live human to ask questions,

I love how everything was already arranged for us! From the flights, to getting met at the airport. Transportation to our hotel… the excursions! Loved the Nile cruise! Our tour guide was wonderful and knowledgeable! And they made sure we had our boarding passes to fly home!

The costume servers in local were response very quickly when we had issues. We had a great trip. I still the local company needed more improvements for accuracy check, ex, airport changes. I did see some people did not know they need using WhatsApp to easily communicate with local contact team and cost unnecessary communication problems. One person in the same hotel with us, he has been sent to wrong hotel, but could not contact with local team, so he paid the hotel fee. You can understand how frustrated when we are in the foreign country with language barrier. Hope your company provides more information when we book the trip.
