On SmartCustomer, businesses may not offer incentives or pay to remove reviews. Read more about our Review Guidelines and the process we have against fake reviews.
eVerify has 90 customer reviews and ranks 66th in the Background Check category. Common review topics include license plate, phone number, credit card.
I only signed up to find which court my buddy's case was located in. He's serving some really hard time for violent assaults with a firearm. He was sentenced to 10 years when his trial ended two years ago, yet eVerify shows "No Criminal Records", with his exact name and address link.
Now they have my credit card, and good luck to me cancelling... Fraud City.
Wish I had read this web site's reviews by others before I visited this awful scammer! I thought I had researched well enough. A sight which purports to list background search sites from best to less must be in cahoots with everify.com or is, in fact, everify.com. That referral site is http://www.topconsumerreviews.com/background-checks/ Don't go there--they're scammers too!
Thank goodness I only went for the one-time search rather than the "Free Trial" period. Now I must check next month to ensure that everify.com doesn't charge me again. Wish I could get my hands around their throats.
I entered a search. They said the had the info - I just had to pay. I paid. Whoops! They do not have the info.
Can someone please help me, How did you guys cancel this account with everify? Do i need to contact my bank? Or what?
Some scammer figured out that people have heard of E-Verify - the government program employers use to verify citizenship. So they registered this similar-sounding domain, and all of us suckers fell for it.
My guesses are the following:
1) Mark, who posted the first and only positive review, was an everify.com employee or a paid shill
2) They're using our credit card info for either a) identity theft or b) skimming info (name, address, email) to sell to spammers. (They can make good money just by selling lists of 'verified' data.)
I got the same results as everyone else here - a claim to have the info I was looking for and then an email saying they have nothing. Big red flag when I tried to look up their domain registrar info, too - no name, address or phone numbers listed. Reported them to INTERNIC, as they're not allowed to own a domain with no adminiistrative contact info.
If anyone can figure out what state they were registered in, we can all start filing complaints with their state Attorney General. In the meantime, please complain to Better Business Bureau (bbb.org) and to the FCC (fcc.gov).
Together we stand, divided we fall.
I used their site, entered the search term, and they said they had info. I paid for the report, but never got any report. You can't contact them. Everything on the website or on the phone contact number is a dead end. Nothing happens. This is a clever but total fraud. Luckily I used PayPal and not a credit card. AVOID. YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY AND GET NOTHING AND WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY WILL DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION.
This company is horrible. I paid 2.95 for 5 days and they said I could cancel in 5 days and wouldn't be charged the monthly fee of 19.95! You guessed, it I got charged 19.95! I don't have this kind of money especially for this kind of scam. I was searching for the owner of an email address and they said "we found it" so I "joined" and then when I typed it in, it said "we found nothing" Of course you didn't YOU BAIT AND SWITCHERS. I AM ALSO CONTACTING THE BBB! SCAMMERS!
This company is a joke. They take money form your account because they say to call to cancel in 7 day period. I called the same day and six days in a row since. You call *******427 and select 32 for billing to be put on hold for 20 minutes and no one ever answers. I have left over 20 messages no one has called. I wrote over 50 contact us Emails and no one has ever replied. It is impossible to cancel and they continue to charge your card.
I have file a report to the BBB today. Let's $#*! this site down. THIEVES!
Everyone here is right, Complete fraud... no personal info. I was told it would provide info in canada and it wont. The E-verify's contact info is all false, the number is just a loop to redirect you to their site and i dont even think emails are sent through there.
Having problems cancelling? I went through safecart when i purchased this. It is VERY easy to cancell your order and subscription from there site just create your account with them, login in, and top right u should see a link for subscription.
I only tried this for a hit n run on my car... bogus... cant believe i fell for it
Fraudulent bait and switch, I looked up a license plate number and they said they had information on the vehicle. The moment I entered my credit card number and clicked the link I was informed no information was found.
Zero star if I could, what a scam, they claim it can look up the phone number, but once I logged in, it cannot provide any service, it cannot even look up my own phone number. Stay clear from this site. Google should have responsibility on this, since they allow this kind of site on the top to cheat the consumer.
Fraud site, wish I had read the reviews. Would give zero stars if I could. I KNOW the person I ran on this site had an arrest (and other items), I was just trying to see if this site would give me more info or details about the event(s). Came up that there was no previous history with this person. ON MY OWN I found the arrest date, mugshot photo, etc so this site is a total rip off. If they read this review I would like them to address this.
This is a $#*!ed up website. I am so $#*!en pissed right now. Have been calling to cancel my subscription but there is no answer. I'll call my bank to stop my account.
Provided no results, and the initial promise was that I would be able to view my marriage certificate, then once you pay the money there is small print that says they do not offer access to marriage certificates whatsoever. I am in the process of canceling during the 2.95 trail period, I am hoping that it will go through and not charge me the full rate in five days. Do not waste your time with this site.
This company is posting absolutely false information. When you contact them to remove it, they ask for more information and documents so they could collect more private information about you, It is just a matter of time before they could post it online. This is a defamation and invasion of privacy. How could this scum company get away with this?
What a scam - they have no data available - this is the only site I did not check out. They should be shut down.
Deserves ZERO stars. This site does not provide any information. They better give me my money back!
This site looks like a fake version of an official service - http://www.uscis.gov/e-verify. Also uses the address www.everifies.com.
Positive comments here probably refer to the official site, not the fake.
They are clearly a scam.
I have received two emails via my company website contact form. One outright claiming that one of my employees had a criminal record - the thing is, I have no employees. And I don't have a criminal record. The other email implied that there are entries about my company on their site. I didn't even bother to click through.
This site uses lies and scare tactics to capture business. They submit falsified information through company web sites claiming that employees are burglars trying to get you to look them up on their service. Steer clear if you don't want to support a company that defamates people they don't even know
