This is my first time ever using the service. Also my first time buying an online business. Buying any business is scary and buying one via online add a bit more questions. Escrow takes the worry out of the financial transaction. Super happy with the process, ease and support. The entire transaction was simple. Customer service are super awesome and helpful. The only way to purchase a business in my opinion.
I have been attempting to purchase a used vehicle utilizing Escrow.com's service and have experienced nothing but issues and delays.
1. My bank transferred funds to Escrow.com via wire transfer at 9am - Escrow.com website states payment received, awaiting processing.
2.2 days later, status is unchanged so I call Escrow.com - after investigating, they realize that the bank account was a joint account and my name was cut off on the wire transfer form. They process the payment and now hold the funds in Escrow.com's accounts.
3. After I accepti the merchandise and mark the payment to be sent to the lien holder, nothing happens. I call Escrow.com 3 days later and they investigate - "the vehicle services department says they are getting ready to mail a check." Mail a check? I did a wire transfer for $35,500 to escrow.com and paid $315.95 for their service PLUS an extra $60 for the lien holder payoff and they are writing and mailing a damn check!?!?!? This delays me receiving the title thus a delay in being able to register and drive the car by whatever time is needed to create a check, mail it, and have the lien holder verify the funds. As opposed to the immediate delivery of funds transferred via wire.
I would never recommend Escrow.com for an important transaction or use these services again. I could have, and should have, wired the funds directly to the lien holder on day 1. Very disappointing.

So many steps to go through, not user friendly and takes to long to verify payment. Have a freelance website. Thought this payment would be ideal but it's not. System is putting bad taste into customer mouth
Ron the Customer Service Representative went out of his way to understand where my problem lay- I had caused it with my bank and shamefully I was complaining. He traced every misplaced transaction and patiently and courteously solved every one of them for me. Thank you so much. You went far beyond my expectations and you won me over Ron
Save your money. Using them is a waste of your time. My buyer decided to use them when purchasing my vehicle from me. They make the process more difficult. The customer service agents seem to read all their responses from a script. It seems like they try to draw the process out as long as possible to keep your money as long as possible. Every request you have of them takes 24 hours for them to review. Use your own bank and save your money, time, and frustration.

In buying a domain, I was concerned about managing the financial aspect and making sure we got what we expected, especially since we were buying from someone overseas. There were some minor hiccups (didn't know that the Concierge-level service would not be available over the weekend, and that wires were required above a certain amount). It's hit or miss, I've been hung up on 4 times. But, every once and awhile someone will go out of there way. Verifying funds can be extremely daunting. Especially with the verification process. Customer service and "proof of funds" severely needs to be updated. This should not be so difficult for a buyer.
We had a not standard situation with third party involvement and unexpected changes throughout the deal, and although some of the issues could be avoided with some uncomplicated updates in the escrow.com system, we were very happy with support from Jay, who was very helpful, quick to respond and helped to smooth our the process overall. Very satisfied with support received

Once the offer is accepted you can pay into the escrow account and then go to inspect the car. If everything is as expected you can release funds to the seller right there on the spot.
