Website instruction were unclear for me, a homeowner, and not a professional electrician. Ordering replacement smoke detectors, the website seemed to make clear that Kidde had stopped manufacturing the original. OK. Replacements were listed. OK. But then there were warnings that buying the replacements could require adapters, listed there on the page. I ordered three smoke detectors and three adapters. The adapters did not fit the smoke detectors I bought. I have had to send them back, using the original box as required. It cost nearly $8 for return shipping. Other suppliers would have taken care of the shipping cost. Overall, not happy. Regret not going to Home Depot.
