The company has garnered a mixed reputation, with some customers praising the quality of unique items and positive experiences with customer service. However, a significant number of reviews highlight serious concerns, including inflated shipping costs, poor communication, and issues with product authenticity. Many customers report dissatisfaction with the handling of returns and complaints, often facing unresponsive support. Overall, while there are pockets of positive feedback, the prevailing sentiment suggests a decline in service quality and transparency, leading to frustration among long-time users and potential legal actions from dissatisfied customers.

I have always dealt with intelligent, friendly staff, my packages arrive in good time, and tracking UPS is easy.
Prices are good and the bidding experience can be quite thrilling. ( I hope that I do not become a hopeless addict, a real danger due to the unique items and the quality presented.)
Read descriptions carefully, study hard, most importantly... enjoy!
The purchases I have made from EBTH have been handled flawlessly.
I love dealing with them.
I hope to sell my own items on this site.
They are very professional and courteous.
So easy to set up an account! Bidding is even easier. Things are well marked and very descriptive- pictures are on point! I won my first item and had it within a week!
EBTH, the poster child for cardboard waste, ABSOLUTELY refuses to combine shipping. They frequently use oversize boxes, e.g., placing a single napkin ring in a large box. Poor packing is common, with individual pieces not being separated and jumbled together in a bubble wrap roll. If this matters to you, stay away. On their good side, if you have no environmental conscience, they often have great items inadequately described that are a good value, if you can read between the lines and are willing to take a chance. Of course, the good side is for the buyers. Pity the poor sellers/consigners whose fiduciary interests are often ignored, with valuable items selling for a pittance due to incorrect descriptions.
Great staff, tuned into you needs and requests and wind up with good results. They have, and continue to, come up with good results
I purchased two items and they were better than I was expecting.
One item the picture was not the best at showing how great the item really was. Got it for a great price.
I've purchased from EBTH in the past and amid their recent layoffs and closure have come skyrocketing shipping prices. Clearly they are finding margin in shipping. This will ultimately kill them as customer experience erodes their buyer base.
Addictive! EBTH conducted an auction for me, I was very satisfied with the results, my recent purchases arrived in a timely fashion and well packed. Thank you
I have been bidding at ETBH for about 6 months now and have bought everything from Vintage clothing to Diamond Rings (bought at 500 and had it appraised at 5000.) to signed artwork. I have never had a problem. Great items and fast and nicely packaged items.
Remember to always check the Item Info section, check the prices with internet searches and always read everything from shipping prices to flaws with the item.,. Do your due diligence... good experiences in the auction world start with research of the item.
After a few purchases, I have found EBTH the love to there word. I have always received my product in a timely fashion, and always packaged to make it here with no damage. It's a good peace of mind to know you will get what you purchased, and not damaged goods. Look forward to my next purchases.
They have everything from A to Z. If you are looking for that special gift, this is the place you should be shopping!
This business has lead catalogers art flipping artists from eBay. They will buy an artist's work for $10-40 on eBay then flip it on their site for $100-300 in a matter of weeks. Not only is this practice unethical, it also destabilizes the artist's market. They also do not contact the artist to let them know and buy up lots of their work. If you like an artist listed on their site - try to find them on eBay and support buying directly from the artist.
I know of 3 artists who have had a lead cataloger (employee of EBTH) flip their work.
Finding rare and beautiful items, in the comfort of your home. Reading the back stories on some of the estates is intriguing, as well. I bought this ring, pictured, because it looks like an umpire mask. My husband is an umpire. Lucky and loved man.
From start to finish fantastic! I have purchased jewelry, art, housewares and furniture wish great success. Reasonable and professional..
I have been very pleased with every purchase I have made. Things have been exactly what I expected and very well packed and delivered quickly. The merchandise all seems to be a step above other web sites on the internet.
EBTH has a wide array of items, easy to bid, and not worry about having to be home or on my phone, the descriptions, pictures, and if any imperfections are described then are shown. I place my highest bids and usually win. I buy a lot of jewelry because I know I can trust EBTH to use a quality appraiser. Where else could you get a. 64 K marquise diamond solitaire, H-I, S2-I1 for $400! It's usually about 2/3 off the prices and some way better than that, like this diamond ring was priced $2,800 in store with only a 20% discount, which still makes it over $2,000. Best online auction and staff, no bidding fees since I have been buying from EBTH. We miss your auctions in Atlanta!
My favorite pastime. Very professional and reliable. You can count on them. A great place to find what you want.
The items I purchased were so nice in the photos, but upon opening the extremely well packed items I was wonderfully surprised. Better than described and I'm excited to keep looking for more! Excellent service great packaging and on time! A++
Purchased a 18k YG Emerald Ruby Diamond ring from this site. Read the full description of the ring and the only thing listed about condition was wavy shank and minor markings throughout. Received the ring and on immediate inspection noted a big portion of the ring is gone. Not a surface inclusion but an actual piece of the stone was missing. Shocked I called and spoke to a man by the name of HAP. After stating my case he proceeded to tell me that it was mentioned in the listing description as "wavy shank" and you could see the chip in pic 4. I had to explain to HAP that a shank is part of the band and has nothing to do with a gemstone. I also state you can not see the depth of the chip from the pics. He disagreed. Not helpful or knowledgeable. Basically stated they do not accept returns and you can see the damage in pic 4.He did say he would contact the gemologist who inspected the ring and get back to me later. I am posting pic of the ring as I received it 15 mins ago. The gemologist who inspected this ring should have included this info in the listing but I am sure they just wanted to make the sale. Buyer beware when purchasing from this website they do not take returns and they fail to list major problems with the item. This is my 4th purchase from this website. Update they have accepted my return.
This site is amazing. I have been buying from them for over a year. And everything is described in detail. And sent as described. Pictures are accurate. The only problem I have is when I go to try to resale something. People start looking it up and find what I gave for it and want the same price. I wish they would take the information off after selling it hurts the buyer.
Answer: I am just got through selling items through EBTH, and it has been the worst experience I have ever had. They grouped many expensive items together because they thought it was in the best interest of the company not the seller. I am also currently seeking legal council to potentially file suit against the company for fraudulent business practices. They didn't even give me a copy of their so called "contract", that I had to sign and send in with my items, until there was only 1 hour left in my sale. They left out the most expensive pieces I sent in and didn't sell them at all, didn't find out why until sale was over. As if all this weren't enough, they took real diamonds from the items I sent in to sell and replaced them with "white sapphires". So needless to say, they're probably about to get hit with a heavy lawsuit!
Answer: I have filed with the BBB and IC3 for internet fraud, and I am writing the Attorney General of Ohio. These guys make the used car salesman of the 60's look like saints. The products are marginal, and the service i mean customer service is non-existent. I also filed a fraud case with my bank, because for 3 week I got the run-around about them shipping the item, I never got it, and they said they couldn't return my money. Not true! In the United States, keeping the money and keeping the merchandise is illegal. Don't let the technology and glam of the website fool you, they are deceptive, dishonest, and you get the 'EVERYTHING BUT WHAT YOU PAID FOR.
Answer: Just to let you know ebth customers and consignors are dropping like flies. The arrogant company just terminated nearly 300 employees and closed markets in many states. That means its not growing, its failing.
Answer: I've not sold with them and never would. I've read the responses from people who sold items with these people and if you would like to be ripped off, then by all means go ahead. You'd fair much better by locating an auction house in your area. My experience with this particular bunch of thieves is on the buying end. Photos do not show the big picture, if there is a flaw in any item it will not be in the description and most certainly will not be photographed. The exorbitant shipping charges are insane. I'm not sure if as a seller you would see any profit from shipping, my guess is it goes right into their pockets. This is a very dishonest bunch from top to bottom. Please find a reputable dealer to sell you cherished items, I cannot stress this enough.
Answer: I bid on a pair of Swarovski Crystal Penguins. I was unaware that the larger Penguin was supposed to have a "tail" at the back. It's difficult to see with the cutting of the crystal so I only noticed it when I saw another like item and it had the tail. I closely inspected and can see what I thought was a cut in the crystal is really not smooth and is where the tail should be. The item was delivered on May 12. I put in a claim on July 2 and the company is standing on their 30 day return policy even though they listed as good condition and it was not broken in the box, I've spent thousands of dollars at their site and probably would have continued. The customer service individual refused to let me speak to a manager and just kept repeating the same thing. Now for 134 dollars, I am done with ever buying another thing. Not a good way to run a business. If they are going out... it's no wonder.
