EBTH, the poster child for cardboard waste, ABSOLUTELY refuses to combine shipping. They frequently use oversize boxes, e.g., placing a single napkin ring in a large box. Poor packing is common, with individual pieces not being separated and jumbled together in a bubble wrap roll. If this matters to you, stay away. On their good side, if you have no environmental conscience, they often have great items inadequately described that are a good value, if you can read between the lines and are willing to take a chance. Of course, the good side is for the buyers. Pity the poor sellers/consigners whose fiduciary interests are often ignored, with valuable items selling for a pittance due to incorrect descriptions.

I have been bidding at ETBH for about 6 months now and have bought everything from Vintage clothing to Diamond Rings (bought at 500 and had it appraised at 5000.) to signed artwork. I have never had a problem. Great items and fast and nicely packaged items.
Remember to always check the Item Info section, check the prices with internet searches and always read everything from shipping prices to flaws with the item.,. Do your due diligence... good experiences in the auction world start with research of the item.

This business has lead catalogers art flipping artists from eBay. They will buy an artist's work for $10-40 on eBay then flip it on their site for $100-300 in a matter of weeks. Not only is this practice unethical, it also destabilizes the artist's market. They also do not contact the artist to let them know and buy up lots of their work. If you like an artist listed on their site - try to find them on eBay and support buying directly from the artist.

I know of 3 artists who have had a lead cataloger (employee of EBTH) flip their work.

EBTH has a wide array of items, easy to bid, and not worry about having to be home or on my phone, the descriptions, pictures, and if any imperfections are described then are shown. I place my highest bids and usually win. I buy a lot of jewelry because I know I can trust EBTH to use a quality appraiser. Where else could you get a. 64 K marquise diamond solitaire, H-I, S2-I1 for $400! It's usually about 2/3 off the prices and some way better than that, like this diamond ring was priced $2,800 in store with only a 20% discount, which still makes it over $2,000. Purchased a 18k YG Emerald Ruby Diamond ring from this site. Read the full description of the ring and the only thing listed about condition was wavy shank and minor markings throughout. Received the ring and on immediate inspection noted a big portion of the ring is gone. Not a surface inclusion but an actual piece of the stone was missing. Shocked I called and spoke to a man by the name of HAP. After stating my case he proceeded to tell me that it was mentioned in the listing description as "wavy shank" and you could see the chip in pic 4. I had to explain to HAP that a shank is part of the band and has nothing to do with a gemstone. I also state you can not see the depth of the chip from the pics. He disagreed. Not helpful or knowledgeable. Basically stated they do not accept returns and you can see the damage in pic 4.He did say he would contact the gemologist who inspected the ring and get back to me later. I am posting pic of the ring as I received it 15 mins ago. The gemologist who inspected this ring should have included this info in the listing but I am sure they just wanted to make the sale. Buyer beware when purchasing from this website they do not take returns and they fail to list major problems with the item. This is my 4th purchase from this website. Update they have accepted my return.
