EBAY FRAUD AND PRICE FIXING. I believe there are a few sellers in China that control the worldwide markets and eBay. They have sales and marketing agreements to inflate and control prices and disclosure/representatiions for ALL PRODUCTS on eBay. These people control everything including Ebays profits, shipping costs, listing fees, protecting sellers (not buyers). Ebay is owned by a few key individuals. The vast majority of the stock is owned by specific people with overseas companies. This is the largest fraud operation I have ever seen. I occasionally run into a honest person that have represented their items for a fair price including shipping. It's virtually impossible. They have millions of items for sale under different linked user names. There are a few people in China, Russia and a few other countries that own Ebay, PayPal, the money processing company in Europe (I do have specific details) and I look forward to receiving your reply. They also control Ebay's MONEY BACK GUARANTEE! There is absolutely no money back guarantee to protect buyers. EBAY HAS NEVER GIVEN ANYONE ON PENNY BACK. Ebay actually makes money on their guarantee. The only way is to catch a seller because they have agreed to my terms and conditions I SENT THEM BEFORE I PLACED MY ORDER. Then, if they say yes, you still have to go through Ebay hoops and wait. Ebay states there is buyer fraud on Ebay. I would like just one documented example. Buyers go through hell to attempt to get their money back. I'm sure it's possible to abuse the system. I want one case? I have now documented over 1000 sellers and items that are fraudulent. I have reported items and sellers. To date I have seen no evidence of the "fraud protection department" doing one thing to stop fraud. I could go one forever. Waiting for a honest reply. Ken
I ordered a item. Cost me $ 89.00. I ended up finding out that they were using products from another seller without their knowledge. I was scammed and bamboozled. By the time I contacted customer service they shut their page and product down. Ebay assured me I did get a refund but it never posted on my credit card account. They protect scammers. Stay away from them. FAR, far away. The few good buyers don't make up for the bad ones.
AMONG ALL ONLINE SHOPPING SITES, I FIND EBAY A BETTER PLACE. YOU CAN FIND A VARIETY OF PRODUCTS AT BETTER PRICES COMPARED TO OTHER SITES. THE ONLY DRAW BACK IS DELIVERY PERIOD WHICH IS BIT LONGER THOUGH BETTER THAN SOME OTHER SITES. ALSO IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY WITH THE PRODUCT, YOU WILL GET THE REFUND EASILY.
We are not an E-commerce site/store, this is not a full-time gig for us, we run another business, this was our very first item. The buyer ended up siting two things "Item not as described" and later "Item defective", both were not true and inaccurate. Ebay forced the return and when we got the box back, items worked fine but we were missing items, Ebay said they could not help with that (of course). They gave the buyer a refund but then claimed ignorance when we were missing items. The Buyer was believed on everything, the Seller nothing.
Oh well, now I know why people are switching to Amazon.
SELLERS BEWARE! Ebay does not protect the seller. They take the buyer at there word and the only option the seller has is to refund them the money plus the shipping cost to return it to you. All they have to do is select "Item not as described" or "defective" and they got there refund. Ebay will not read the details, they will not ask/allow the seller to prove that the seller is wrong. This was said to me by the Case Specialist from the ebay resolution Department. In my case I sold a driving snow blower for $5000. 00 which drove onto the shippers truck and then the buyer turns around and says it does not start, is not as described and opens there claim within a few hours. I clearly stated in my description that I am not responsible for shipping. However eBay tells me that once they select "Item not as described" that nothing in my description counts. Including that I have a video to prove the machine was working and driven onto the machine. But eBay will not allow me to submit evidence to disprove the buyers false accusations, then of course he leaves me a negative feedback to kill any other sells. Ebay are scammers themselves, they choose the buyer even that the sellers are the ones supporting them because as sellers we are paying an insertion fee and a sellers fee and a monthly fee. And the buyer pays nothing. They are 100% at the receiving end. I'm done with ebay. I've been with eBay before they made all these "simple" changes to make it "better". It's only better for them, and the buyers that are scamming eBay. They prefer to lose someone with over 1300 feedback to someone new with 2 feedback. Just test it out for yourself, buy something and then put in a request for a return refund. Make sure you select "Not as described" or "defective".
Ebay is not selling anything, It is us, the sellers that are selling everything. Without us, ebay would not exist. We are the ones carrying ebay. Also the resolution center is a joke, they are not there to help the seller. The agents are just clicking in favor of the buyer, they do not read into any details. No matter who you speak to, they are all just reading off a script. They do not take anything you say into consideration. They do not care that you have proof that you can submit to prove yourself. This company came up to help people, however now it only helps the new scammers of today.
You can find a lot of good offers/products on EBay, but also a LOT of FAKE stuff so beware! EBay doesn't seem to care as several of the vendors of fake products, like "1TB-2TB USB-Sticks" are listed as verified/top vendors.
So just like Trustpilot, money have now taken the highest priority. :(
"DO NOT SELL ON EBAY! If you do not sell on Ebay regularly then DO NOT sell on Ebay if you expect payment for your items before 7 to 10 days AFTER you sell your item! I have perfect selling and buyer ratings through Ebay but because I don't meet their volume they are holding 1200 dollars for an item I don't even have anymore because I had to ship it right away for the buyer. I NEEDED THIS MONEY ASAP FOR CHRISTMAS! Ebay NEVER told me until AFTER the sale that I would not be getting my money for 7 to 10 days. If I HAD KNOWN I would NEVER have used Ebay for selling, I would've stuck with etsy or Facebook where you get YOUR MONEY IMMEDIATELY!"
They always have everything I need! I love eBay... my C3 might just love them more than I do. I got a Corsa exhaust last week, it sounds great. Thank you ebay and sellers!
Do not buy from autos from Ebay. They deleted my negative review of a dealer who scammed me. One week after I wrote an honest, but negative review, Ebay deleted it from the dealers record. That means many dealers who look good may actually be bad - you can't trust Ebay reviews.
Suspended Guest account, actual account couldn't access and wouldn't allow Password reset. So used a guest account, ebay did this suspension after accepting and charging 126.00 to credit card and then notifying the vendor i had ordered from. Called support and oh my god, even worse experience. Never again. Avoid... use amazon even if a few dollars more. Be warned
Wonderful items for me to purchase almost every day. I would use eBay for everything if I could but sometimes I have to use Amazon. But I do like eBay very much.
She advertised on Ebay Samsung Galaxy S9 phone for $200 and said she got Samsung Galaxy S10 so she didn't need it anymore so she is selling it cheap. I bought it and she sent me a box filled with papers, but no phone. Ebay would not do anything as there was a delivery confirmation via USPS although it was just a box with papers. This person scammed me out of $200. Beware
Amazing place to buy, great buyer protection, strict limits on sellers, shipping time.
Even if the item is being sold AS IS... for parts, DOES NOT WORK... buyer can scam you like no tomorrow, make you pay for shipping to and from them.
If you decline to assist, they will just open a case against you and you will lose the item and all the funds too.
AS as seller, avoid like the plague. There is no protection for you.
A buyer can just buy your item say a new iphone with serial number 1234, they will get the correct item, put a junk phone or even brick back in the box, claim its not as decribed.
AS a seller you will need to pay for them to ship back the brick to you, when you receive it, the minute ebay sees the tracking number has reached your location, BAMMM full refund back to buyer.
Now you are left with a brick, paid shipping to and from buyer.
Good job ebay, in due time ALL sellers will leave this junk site so all the scam buyers can have the playground all to themselves.
EBAY does not protect the seller. They did not care about the actual situation and that the buyer LIED! They did not review my listing or correspondence in order to make a fair and reasonable decision. They simple gave the buyer the refund and I have to pay the return shipping for an item that was advertised clearly and correctly. EBAY SUCKS. If you are a seller, find another place to do your business. EBAY will screw you over. Oh - I forgot to mention I am a 20 yr member and the buyer they ruled for opened their account in May. Interesting, huh?
I had a seller account with a spotless record for over a decade and they ended up screwing me over for chump change. A buyer filed a refund claim for an item I sold to them (first refund claim ever filed against me) but I challenged it and eBay ruled in my favor (buyer's remorse). The buyer later filed a fraudulent refund claim with PayPal and won. I lost the money on a perfectly legitimate sale and eBay still wants me to pay the fees. I told eBay that PayPal stole your fees so get it from them and close my account because eBay is unable to protect its sellers from fraudulent refund claims. Needless to say, eBay didn't close my account and still asking me for the fees. Ebay has been in a steady decline for years. It treats sellers poorly with price-gouging fees and selling policies that maximizes eBay's profits which often hurt sellers' ability to make a profit. The decent, honest sellers have been steadily replaced by dubious sellers and scammers. My advice is to stay far away from eBay. It's a marketplace that you're more likely to be fleeced. For that matter, avoid PayPal transactions, too. It's no surprise that PayPal is crooked since eBay once owned them.
Since they made changes in the last few year and now police bad sellers with a good refund policy. Also with paypal this is another saftey net
Ebay is the worst market place. Please avoid them. I had an issue for the sold item. They hold my payment for 21 days even though it was delivered. They didn't mention it before and second they state the listing is free but, actually they have hidden 10% charges which they never disclose until item is sold.
I called and talk to their manager. I told him I will never use Ebay again because ofthis. Instead of compensating or waving the charges he said Ok no problem. SHI- Company. Please use Amazon or something else. Ebay is simple piece of a Shi-
I don't like to buy on Ebay often because I don't feel like I should trust in many of their products. I know a lot of people who buy from that website and they still recommend it.
The times I bought from this website, it's been good but it's not something I would regularly do.
As I was just informed by ebay customer support supervisor to sell on ebay is a privilege not as that you as seller are their customers paying the fee, but they graciously allow you to sell items on their platform.
EBay claims to have protection for buyers and sellers on an equal level. It's true only until the moment that you run into trouble in paradise.
So the fee that you are paying is not for the services that ebay will provide to you, but in reality, it is more thugs protection payment for their buyer protection which you have to pay to sell your items on their ebay platform. When anything will go wrong the seller is the victim of every problem and fraud the buyer commits on you.
Thanks eBay for restricting my account because you've determined it is "linked" to another account. If you call they won't tell you anything about the "linked" account. Because it's not yours AND your account won't be released until there is resolution with the "linked" account... So it turns out, in my case, the "linked" account is my dad's account. He is 74 and bought some 30 year old model kits that were represented as complete, They were not and as a result activated the eBay buyer protection. So as a result he got suspended. Great!
Now a year later, eBay has decided to suspend my account since we are related. RELATED! Guilt by association. WOW! Thanks for violating my Civil Rights.
I've had packages sent to my parents, and used their computer, that's how eBay determined that our accounts are "linked". Too bad they can't see the forest through the trees here.
I was on the phone for over an hour with Nick at the (non)Resolution Center. As usual, I got the bureaucratic run around semantics game. I was told at the beginning of the conversation that once my dad's account was resolved, mine would be. By the end of the conversation, my dad's account was resolved, PERMANENTLY SUSPENDED. And I was told that I'd need to find another platform to buy/sell on, as since his account is permanently suspended, mine is too. WHAT? But I don't have anything to do with his account. As a member of eBay for 21 years (227) positive feedback, it doesn't matter. I was told my issue was a "dead end" there is NO RESOLUTION possible and eBay would cancel my wife and sons account next. WHAT? There is NO one I can speak to, NO one can help me. Find another platform to sell on... REALLY? Thanks eBay.
Answer: I would never buy a used car without seeing it in person and having it checked out.
Answer: Ebay is a den of thieves. Even Ebay is evasive on complaints to answers. When looking for items, be sure to be fully informed to what you are shopping and use all that knowledge to cypher the listing, even then have found those that list items to be evasive on answers. Avoid ebay if possible!
Answer: For their own purposes and to protect dishonest sellers. I was once an avid EBay shopper, but now avoid EBay. Buyer protection no longer exists. You buy at your own risk.
Answer: Ebay sells nothing. You are dealing with private sellers. Some are good, some are not. The best way to determine this is to check the feedback. I personally never buy from anyone who has a feedback lower than 90%. 96% is considered bad, by Ebay. Take that with a grain of salt. Ebay management is nuts.
Answer: If you haven't already learned the hard way that Ebay is just pure bullshit when it comes to the sellers rights. When someone wants to send it back for any reason other than it doesn't work as described, you will be footing the bill. Not only will you lose the money you paid to ship it to them, Ebay will offer to provide a return label for them at your expense. Yep, that's right. They will bill you the price of the label if you don't provide it. Either way, you are paying for it to get back to you. It's get better. You can't leave negative feedback for the buyer either. It's not an option NO MATTER
Answer: Not to me! It's my main shopping tool! I look for good deals and free shipping!
Answer: Yes. You are right. All what people told you are correct. Don't trust ebay and the seller on ebay. Amazon much better than them. But anyway the best way to buy electronics from the local stores or official stores.
Answer: This depends on the seller of the item - carefully check their feedback and trust you intuition if you have doubts try another seller you feel safer with...
Answer: Hi Tom, As for reviews, you don't get them. It's called feedback. When you buy an item, the seller will probably leave feedback after you leave feedback for them. I hope that answers your question. Nancy
Answer: Depends on the seller. I wouldn't buy anything off ebay because there a crappy company.
