Dns changes take too long to update other than that amazing

Just getting started...I have not really formed an opinion.
We've been trying to pay for our domain for the last five days, but without any result.
What's wrong and what should we do to get the site working back?
The price for.com domains has doubled in the past year. Cloudflare offers the same service for 1/3 the cost. I essentially wasted $20 for no reason and this is by far the most expensive option. I'll be transferring my domains elsewhere next year.
I am new and chose the basic plan. I still wish I had more options to change layout on my own, within pages landscape and tall rectangular. Still working on it. Wondering if I can add to it later or make changes.
I don't like the way the cart works, I hate that it automatically adds "security...", I hate that it automatically adds the domain I'm searching, and I hate that prices shown in the search list do not include the VAT and price increase in the following years. That's just a revenue-driven approach and a complete disrespect to the customer.

Impossible to get ahold of help. Your live chat does not work, I can't get anyone to answer on the phone. I need help getting my website live and have been trying for two days now with no help. Really annoyed over it.

Web site creation needs more building tools. I feel designing tools are very limited.
I have called and even tried to do this myself, but all efforts have been for not. All I want is a plain jane white page with my logo in the center. But that all seems too difficult to do for Domain.com
Appreciate that I can understand someone that speaks clear English, and can communicate easily.
