I stopped at the Dollar Gen on Hwy 30, Annville KY. The manager was so rude. I asked to use the restroom and was told the door was messed up so I asked to use the men's and was told it was used for storage. She said they had to use the DUMPSTER. This is a new store and the employees don't have a restroom. If you don't want want customers to use the restroom just say we have no public restroom and save the lies!
Dollar General would be a textbook example of how NOT to run a store! They are always understaffed, often only one person or two to run the store. Frequently, no one at the register for long periods of time. Lots of turnover, I imagine pay is minimal. Must always check your receipt because of overcharges on items, especially SALE items. Have walked out of store without purchasing anything several times because no one was at register. Their online coupons don't work! This seems to hold true for many of their locations so can only assume it is a corporate problem!
The only thing I have to say is that they really need to start going by that name instead of Dollar general because they are very much more expensive than Walmart Walmart's price for pop 24 pack mountain dew is $9 and some odd cents however Dollar generals is $13 and some odd sense I can go to $1 general where I can get something for three bucks go one block down the street to the next Dollar general and they charge four bucks for the same exact thing they are ripoff artists they need to be fined and they need to make sure that they stand to their name and make sure that they are not more expensive then Walmart Myers and Krogers

Don't bother getting a job here when they do a background check they go back a lifetime.
Fair credit act says employers are only supposed to go back 7 years they clearly break the law.

The Broadway store in Schenectady Ny is horrible! I've been going to the store almost every day for the past 10 years and in the past two years it has gotten the worst it's ever been. The store is constantly dirty. The shelves are never stocked. The employees are extremely rude and disrespectful. God forbid you ask him for help with anything you get the worst attitude in the dirtiest looks constantly watch people walk out with things and just laugh. It's sad because this is used to be a good store young lady Sean that works There was very nice along with the gentleman that works there
Never have been able to use digital coupons or keep from being locked out of an account. Doesn't work for my ibotta. Recently, I spoke with corporate on 2 occasions having unjustified issues with certegy. I was told a district manager would contact me during first call. 2nd call I was told a different story and talked down to as if I don't pay my bills and write bad checks. Certegy had explained that even though I do not write bad checks the individual stores requirements could prevent authorization of payments. I repeatedly tried to resolve this and push for positive changes. DG lost $500 from me in one weekend because my money isn't good enough for them and corporate has hateful accusatory people and no supervisory staff who can be bothered. They do not care about customers, and since none of the DG features have ever been usable for me, I am not losing anything by not shopping there (or anywhere that uses certegy). Yes, there are alternatives. I would have shopped at DG for convenience if not for the level of inconvenience and embarrassment caused during this last experience.
So I go to Dollar general app, and go to the weekly coupons and it comes up with three 12 packs of Pepsi for 12 bucks. That's in a digital coupon. You're looking at it and there is absolutely no way to clip the digital coupon. So when you get to the counter you don't get the sale price.

I am a frequent Dollar General shopper visiting the Winterville, Crawford/Lexington Ga. Cedar Shoals Drive Athens Ga and now Rayle store.
First I'll start with Cedar Shoals Drive, Athens Ga. Store. In my last visit this week I had to grab a 2 liter. When I stepped in line there were 6 maybe 7 people in line with one young man working the register. I'm not sure why but it was taking a long time with customer checking out. As I continue to stand in line I became irate because the other DG employee was sitting right outside the door smoking, we even made eye contact, so she knew the line was long and it was moving slow, she continued to huff and watch us in the line. I commend she is willing to have a job as it appeared she has some disabilities but I can't commend her sitting at front door smoking and watching the young man try to check the rest of us out asap, it was completely uncalled for as a Supervisor.
Next I'll mention Winterville as there has been a huge turn around at the store not only in appearance but attitudes and over all customer service. I'm really glad to see Dan is back, he is always a joy! Rebecca and the young black lady I can't recall her name do a great job of greeting Customers and getting them checked out. Overall this store has definitely made a turn around.
Now the I'm not sure if it's Crawford or Lexington store as sits close to the line I believe. Whew what a mess the last time I was in there Thank God for associates like Kelsie to smile and brighten your day while helping you shuffle through the mess to find what you need. She's a gem no doubt definitely Making shopping there better!
Last, the Rayle store. OMG I was completely blown away with how clean and organized the store is but then you add Porscha I think is her name just set this store apart by far! Porscha is definitely a gem to have as well.
I do hope DG takes a moment and does Something special to acknowledge these employees after all we should highlight the positive and not always the bad. So even though I also hope the Cedar Shoals store will be addressed I still give a 5 for all the rest.

They harass and slander vulnerable, disenfranchised people such as myself. Tell everyone in my community that I'm a shoplifter but never to my face. Have complained 3 times to corporate but nothing happens. They run me out like a troll guarding a bridge. I've spent more money at my local store than I wish to count and I am not a thief. Am sick and trying to recover but will not go back no matter how sick I am. I will have to buy items in bulk if I can work it into my budget next time I'm in town. Thanks for making my extremely hard recovery that much harder. I regret ever spending my money in this dump. They don't stock anything properly either so I always go over my budget even though I'm sure I've picked the best unit price. Milk goes bad way too fast because they obviously leave it out of fridge at times. Never do proper inventory and shelves are usually quite bare on many items that clearly need to need restocked more often. Dirty. Unprofessional. Discriminatory. Maybe 3 things that are gluten free in fridge and freezer section. Way overpriced.
I went into the Dollar General to buy a couple of boxes of Christmas lights. The sign said I wouldn't get one free. When I got to the register, the young lady checking me out said to say all came off I got four boxes and my total was $24. They were seven dollars apiece. I said that's not buy one get one half off oh but you got $1.75 off each one. So the manager went to read the sign and she pointed as she hollered at me down the aisle. It's excluded. See right here on the sign.
The music that was playing, was African-American music not some music I would've thought should've been playing in Dollar General while I was shopping. They checked me out they start giggling to the next couple that was coming to check out behind me. And making discriminating comments
Hey I live on Sandy springs Rd and I shop at the dollar general down the street from the house. They have the most rudest employees they never greet you when you walk in the door there's never no communication when you at the cash register the cashier never looks at you eye contact they are very rude they have different employees every week they can't keep help they can't keep nothing stock. They in the wrong line because you have to be nice to everybody not just white people black people too get it together
I went to dollar general and purchased a spend well card along with other items. I also purchased $60 which the cashier rang up as a 2nd transaction. I registered the temporary card and waited for the permanent card to arrive. The $60 was not credited to either card. Spendwell told me it was a dollar general issue. I provided customer with my receipt and bank card I purchased it with stating I just wanted a refund.
What a headache. I'm out $60 with not help from dollar general!
Thrived! I will no longer shop there as they basically stole me money. I just want a refund and I did ask with in the 30 day policy but this is their mistake not mine! Buyers beware!
Half of the staff is horrible at customer service. And apparently management doesn't know how to place orders for stock. Seeing how NOS is their most popular energy drink, it's funny they never want to honor the 2 for $4 promotion, and since proven wrong their going on 3 wks of not stocking it.
Got off work early to stop at DG for one ingredient I needed for dinner and was told I can't come in (time was 4:51) because store was closed. Posted close time was for 5 o'clock.
On Friday, I went to Dollar General in Conyers, and purchased a Christmas tree for $50.00. After putting up the Christmas tree, the lights does not work. I tried to return it to another Dollar General store, and they advised me it has to be taken to the store where it was purchased. When the receipt was given to me at the store in Conyers, the register paper needed to be changed and was not. This caused the top part of my receipt not to be clear. This is an inconvenience for me, I was only in the area, when I bought the Christmas tree. Now, I have to drive 1 hour to take the tree back.
Went to this store today and aisles were blocked with tubs of merchandise, most of the aisles were empty of items. Overall a dirty store, observed 3 employees in the front on their phones and talking. Just a nasty store.
Do not buy any heater from dollar general if the heater does not work you can not get your money back. No matter what the situation.
Answer: Most of it comes down to the iron fisted payroll. Like 40 asm hours for 2 full time employees. How do you give your asm 20 hours and call that ft!
