Worst customer service ever and go ahead and be prepared for half your stuff not to be put in your bag after you pay for it. And when you go to call the number it won't let you get through to a human being and that's me calling four different numbers. So I will never shop at this s***** store again I want to get treated like crap I'll go somewhere else I don't know how they stayed in business this long to be honest with you their store looks ugly it's all out of disarray and this has been my final experience. The last two times they "forgot" to put an item I paid for in my bag and I shouldn't have to go back Everytime not check behind the person getting paid to do a job. What a joke!

Getting ripped off
February 26, 2024

I will freely admit I was not paying attention to my banking account because my husband had a stroke and I'm kind of busy. I'm not sure how long this has been going on but I know as of 4-2023 every time I used my card at dollar general it was fraudulently used. I know the first thing they will say is there is no way to prove this. If you have to use this company make sure u pay in cash. I would recommend you not use them at all.

All they care about is rate if you are older they find any reason to fire you they work you long hours and the rules only apply to people they want to fire if you want to work somewhere very stressful and if you don't want to have a life outside of work than wirk there

Disgusting

Everything there like all there products work well and are amazing but... there bathroom is absolutely disgusting its so dirty and not a proper bathroom for a store. It looks like a bums dirty bathroom. Its very, very, VERY unsanitary and would not at all recommend using its bathroom. The soap is not the normal ones where the germs aren't as bad. I'm a very big germ-aphobe and there bathroom is all types of no's the bathroom was completely dirty and not at all cleaned. I'm so scared of using the toilet incase of diseases. Next time I go there ill take a picture to show you all. The toilet paper was so improper, it had a already done and used roll and ontop of the was a new one. The bars to stand up beside it were so dirty. Please don't use their bathroom.🙏🙏

Silver Lake MN Store

I am very disappointed at the Silver Lake MN store. The previous manager had that store so clean. This new manager is never there and it is a mess. The floor is dirty. So much stuff in the aisles you can't go through them with a cart. Please clean this store up. I am very embarrassed about this store. We need this store in out small town.

Prehirement process

I believe Dollar General sucks I have put in application several weeks ago just to find out that they did not hire me for some bogus reason obviously because it didn't say why they did not hire me because I've had several jobs jobs before with the same stuff on my background that were legit jobs that paid good so what makes any difference for Dollar General so therefore I make plans not to shop there no more since they don't want to give me a job all Dollar Generals for that matter I suggest you do the same if they don't hire you

Cluttered aisles

No matter the day of the week, the aisles are cluttered with carts of items to be shelved. LOTS OF THEM!
WHY?

That Pig should not be necessary to call a cashier!

In my opinion, DG is either understaffed or unorganized.

I visit 3 stores regularly and all have the same problems.

Hire more day staff, build larger warehouses or find a way to stock shelves after hours.

This isn't rocket science!

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED Been waiting over 3 weeks for a response for the job i live across the street have 35 years of cashier experience bank deposits order product been over people the business closed i worked for. Manager told me 24hrs on application after 3 weeks telling me to wait turned down some other jobs now it is filled. DG could have emailed me or text or call they have all my info if they do not care enough to finish the process do not say 48 hrs and then nothing sorry sorry doing business

Unsatisfied Customer!

For a long time now, the 5 years I've been living in this area, I have been a customer of Dollar General. For the last 4 months the app no longer let's you clip coupons available. So to add to my long check out time because of lack of employees or because the employees you do have don't give a damn, I can't even clip digital coupons. This is really ridiculous! All of the regular employees that did care are gone and the new ones aren't worth a damn. We spend our hard earned money here and need you all to either get it together or move along. At least, if I'm going to have to wait for a long time let me be able to clip my coupons! Just ridiculous!

Stay away from this shop. Many times I have went here and after making a purchase for workers placing chemicals into the same bag as foods. I have mentioned this many times only to be laughed at. If you find your self in Ohio at this store do a fast search there is a family dollar just 3 blocks away. Much cleaner and better staffed.

Not enough or too much!

I live in sparta michigan and there's 2 dg's in a 5mile radius. Sad thing is you have to go to both just to get what you need and most time neither has what you need! They never are stocked correctly. When you want something and have to wait weeks to see it again,is just crazy! I also worked at a Dg before and the one i worked at was way busier but managed to stay pretty clean and stocked for the most part i just had to quit because we didn't have enough employees and i was running thin! Overall my point in this review is to hope someone high enough sees it and helps with these problems near me! Get more hours to hire enough employees to stay fully stocked at most times! If that happened they'd be better than walmart!

Zero restroom (illegal) or handicapped access (illegal)

Recently Tuesday Jan 23. I went in Menominee Mi store. I went and bought my groceries and few other things and checked out and realized I forgot my debt card so asked cashier to hold up I didn't have enough on me for everything. He got mad and proceeded to insult and humiliate me. Told me from now on I should go to a store prepared and when I have money for it and proceeded to take his arm wipe off his counter throw the stuff I made him have to put back the whole time insulting me. I was never treated so bad in a store in my entire life. Yes I was rushing around my husband was late for chemo and had to rush out of the house and I didn't realize I left my card at home but to have a cashier announce to everyone in store pulling a temper tantrum and standing there insulting me was the worst thing ever. On top of everything else I am having to deal with personally is horrible. I was a manager for one of your stores for yrs and would have fired him instantly for treating any customer that way. I told him as long as you are here I will never step foot in that store again and he thanked me. It is unbelievable how the store has gone downhill. No one wears shirts or name tags any longer. Just normal street clothes you don't even know they are an employee until they might pick up a box or go behind counter. They are not people oriented they stores are not open when they are supposed to be. They are filthy. The store in Stephenson humiliated an elderly friend of mine by refusing to check him out stating he was short staffed and had to use self check out and he even said he didn't know how and cashier told him well your going to learn now and proceeded to show him how to use it the whole time the customer could have been scanned out and gone. I scanned my friend out to help as a friend and a concerned customer could not believe my ears or eyes then couple weeks later I'm humiliated in another store! I'm ashamed to even connect my name with your business. I left on good terms (broke my arm and it would not heal oh and 3 yrs later still broke but learned how to use it.) But just breaks my heart to see my old store that I took so much pride in look the way it does. Staff the way they are. I will only go there now after my 2 experiences if I absolutely have to. Heartbreaking, ashamed, disgusted. And the worst part is I know it's just not happening to me and I know nothing will change! Miss the old dg!

Sale tag at North East MD DG said you would get $5 off of a $25 purchase of Purina products. I bought 2 large bags of Purina cat food totaling $34. Got to register and the $5 did not come off. The cashier said I needed a coupon. The sale offer on the shelf did not say you needed a coupon. I went and pulled the tag off of the very bottom shelf where you could not see the date. The eligible date was for the week before. The cashier tried to give me the $5 anyway, but said the system would not let her do it. I did not get the $5 off. Be sure to check the date of the sale offer on shelf at Dollar General before buying.

Dollar general in Carbondale ks needs to do better I went in there and heard the general manager, assistant manager and a key holder making fun of one of the other key holders who have autism. They were making fun of her speech impediment and how she was a lair for Calling in even though I seen her earlier that day and she couldn't stand right. They were saying some nasty stuff, this is honestly so sad because I've never heard this little girl talk about these 3 girls In a bad way and she tells me all the time that's she loves them as family. Do better dollar general I am disappointed in this work environment

Fui a comprar una leche.Usualmente siempre entro a ese(4940 Saufley Field Rd. Pensacola, Florida) lugar pues esta cerca de casa. La empleada Melissa no levanto su vista, no saludo, no pregunto si yo estaba buscando algo, estaba usando la escoba a mis pies, no seexcuso, no le importo que yo estaba sperndo para pagar, se fue del frente. Muy grosera dijo que las cajas registradoras estaban vacias. Estaban vacias es muy cierto pero yo habia olvidado mis lentes y no podia ver.
Ella muy descortes, mirando a lo lejos no me cobro mi mercancia.
Estaba enojada con la vida sin yo tener la culpa.
Esa era mi tienda de paso a casa,, pero gracias a Melissa voy a buscar otra.por que no es la primera vez que me ocurre eso ahi.

IS NOT FAIR,MANAGERS GET TO PURCHACE THE CLEARANCE SALES.I TRIED TO PURCHACE THE CLEARANCE ITEMS BUT MANAGER ONLY ALLOWED ME 6ITEMS AND THAT THE CART FULL OF ITEMS WERE MANAGERS FIRST PRIORITY.NOT RETURNING TO THAT G.D.WILL REMAIN PRIVATE.THE STAFF ARE NICE.
