Has many channels, but little or new content. Lots of old network reruns. Lots of charity, sales. Why pay these prices for old content.
I have had this app for five years and it is absolutely consistently horrible. Dish should be ashamed of the quality of this product. I enjoy home service with Dish and the receivers and the DVR etc. but this is a complete joke.
There having issues on there end and they want the customer to pay for it. They got reps on the line who dont want to resolve the problem or connect you to management after the hold time was over an hour. I have been a loyal and on time customer NEVER BEEN LATE & SERVICE HAS NEVER BEEN INTERRUPTED IN 24 YEARS!
Just try dropping Dish and see how frustrated you are. Had to call 10 times to get it done. Almost as bad as dealing with the IRS.
If I could give 0 stars I would. I was told in June of 22 I could cancel in three months. I called back in March of 23 and was told I had to wait till October to cancel. They stole my money because of this.
I have been a dish network customer for almost a decade. When I was getting ready to move I put my service on hold. When I moved into my new home I called to cancel dish because I can get all the streaming services for much cheaper. They told me that I had signed a 2 yr contract and they had me on record accepting it. I explained to them that I would of never knowingly re-upped my contract especially i was getting ready to move and that the deal I would of gotten would be running while i was on hold. I explained everything to them and they didn't care. I even let them know that at the very least I was misled, but once again they said there was nothing they could do and charged me over $300 termination fee. I asked could they at least reduce it since it was obviously not what i wanted to do and have been a loyal customer for over 9 years. They couldn't do anything. I am done with dish network for life. I will never do business with this company again.
Signed up with the intention of receiving a $50 per month credit for 12 months.When bill was received there was no credit and agent stated no indication on my account of such promo.Also charged for shipping receiver when Protect Silver Program states no charge.Awful Customer Service and no Supervision to speak with when trying to resolve issues.
Been waiting for day one day 3 hours second day 4 hours on hold and still no answer it is IMPOSSIBLE! To get help from CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Been with Dish almost 2 years (22 months to be exact). After signing up initially they rolled out new equipment but I could "pay" to upgrade. Called to cancel several months ago due to increased cost and old equipment and was hit with the $20 a month to get out of contract mess. Finally got fiber internet in my neighborhood so after it was installed I called to cancel again. For a week, 2 hour wait times, others I know also canceling had same issue. Finally waited 80 minutes today to be chastised about my time with dish. The two started out excited and talkative but once I explained I wanted to cancel it was all downhill and down to business. So APPARENTLY you have to pay $20 to receive a cardboard box and mail the equipment back. 1 box per item so $40 for me. Nowhere to deliver or drop off equipment and no way around this. Total scam! Based on how many are on long wait times, lots jumping ship.
I wished I'd read reviews before I signed up. The customer service is the worst I've ever seen in a company even if you're lucky enough to talk to a live person! I have a 4k TV and can't get 4k programs. I had to add Spectrum cable in order to watch the Lakers and the Clippers anytime they play. Just Awful.
This is the worst cable company ever they keep telling me that I'm later.they keep sending me my payment late. They keep trying to add more money for what, I don't get anything more they take stuff off.and add more to my bill they are the worst cable company ever
Over 3 months and still don't have local channel 9, yet they still continue to charge full price for the local channel lineup. Seems as if the customer is the only one expected to live up to "THE CONTRACT". The only reason I keep the service is because of the "HOPPER". If anyone else had it I would be gone in a heartbeat!. Currently on a 40 minute hold to talk to billing. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE service.
Couldn't log in, over 2 1/2 hours on hold on the phone. Chat couldn't help at all because he couldnt access my account NEVER subscribe to dish
They are trying to change me for a pay as u go account that they said they were syber attack and my problem what other information was given to them about my account
Dish's gimmick is they make it impossible for you to contact anyone to cancel your service with them. We have spent over six hours on hold over the last three days. Today alone, after 45 minutes on hold, a lady came on and asked for my information, and as soon as I said cancel, she immediately said she had to get the "cancelation department" on the line and then immediately put me back on hold. After sitting there another hour and a half, I hung up. You can not even get in contact with a real person calling corporate numbers. What is funny about this is if you were calling about your bill or to get services, you wouldn't have to wait like this. Only to cancel your service. So I ask you, Doesn't that look like a gimmick to you?
Dish network has a package deal with Hughes.net satellite internet. Terrible internet, very slow. When it storms all connections are lost. When my contact is over I will leave this service behind! Expensive!
Dish is taking your local channels CONSTANTLY. This is pure GREED. They DO NOT CARE about you as a customer and they tell you you CANNOT get out of your contract without paying an early cancelation penalty. For me, in month 8 of 24 that's around $340 TO LEAVE a COMPANY WHO Sneakily adds disclaimers to their contracts that allow them to take channels FOR ANY REASON and lock you into their services or pay a heavy price.
They put their CEO's on line to tell you to fight FOR THEM and to aim your ire at those that are the channel providers, but the TRUTH IS, DISH won't pay what is being requested, and THEY DON'T CARE IF THAT MEANS- YOU LOSE.
You lose MAJOR Football Games.
YOU lose the Oscars.
YOU lose your everyday programming... for months on end.
Whether it's FOX or ABC, CBS, NBC etc, one day it'll be a channel you love and rely on.
The removals seem never ending.
They also got cyber hacked. I can only imagine someone got angry enough to do this and since that happend months ago, they STILL cannot provide you any customer service. So guess what? You have to keep paying and get no real help from customer service, and loose your channels. DISH SUCKS.
I was a loyal customer for 20 years and when we moved in June 2022, we switched to Direct TV, but I didn't like the difficulties in getting on and getting to the channels. It wasn't user friendly, so we switched back to Dish. I regret that!
Dish anywhere is spotty. It works, but has its issues.
Sometimes I cannot get into it at all! Every time I use it, when one show moves to the next there is this very strange bleed through where BOTH programs overlap.
Very annoying!
I have been trying to pause a system on our property. I had been trying to call. Then I noticed I could messenger them a request. So there was no response. I went about my day, and the paused all systems on my account. I contacted them again via Messenger and I was told they created " a ticket ", to have service returned in 24-48 hrs. Didn't happen. When I again went via messenger I was told their system was down and couldn't help me.
Today, I had to take a day off to contact Dish. At 830am I was 234 in line. So I waited and finally my turn. I explained the situation and was told they couldn't do that. I was dumbfounded, asked you can't turn my systems back on. He put me on hold for 15 minutes on more, than quickly came back on and told me he was going to transfer me to someone else!
I am telling you all this because I believe Dish is doing this to many. The 1st person who you speak to is meant stall, Wayland us then put us on hold.only to be hung up on. The customer service is Atrocious.
I work to hard for my money to be treated this way.
I refuse to let DISH hold me hostage.
Now I am reading reviews that DISH is not letting us close our accounts.
I needed to cancel internet service. I only had internet. It wasn't working and I had to go with another provider. I called multiple times and no one would cancel me. I received a bill for the month I had no more service from them. No one I talked with could cancel my service. They said they could only cancel tv service. I talked to 7 different people over several weeks and would be put on hold. My wait times were usually 45 min at least. I was given different numbers to call, was transferred to someone else, etc. No one seemed to be able to cancel my internet.I I tried to get help with support chat on the website. That was a joke. I'm no waiting on hold on 2 different phones - I'm trying 2 different numbers. One was given me by an agent after being on hold 48 min. He said I had to talk to the internet side. He could only cancel TV. The other Number I found on the website. I've been on hold now for over half an hour on both phones. I'm not holding out hope of being able to cancel the internet account. Dish is holding me holding me hostage. I disabled auto pay from my account and will not send them a payment for the bill they sent. I could not recommend Dish to anyone. They make it impossible to cancel internet or get in contact with anyone.
System constantly goes out, freezes, lose sound, overall extremely poor service. Customer service is extremely sad. Waited for 1 hour to be told I would have to wait an additional 2 hours to cancel. Constant lies an incompetence.
Answer: Because it sounds great to have 1200 channels even if 1195 channels are nothing but infomercials, most people like me think wow I will have so many movies to watch I might have to record 5 while I watch 1 but after you get your 1200 channels you realize most every movie you would like to see can only be viewed if you pay an extra rental fee, another huge disadvantage to satellite tv is the frequency of commercials and the time the commercials are shown, regular tv used to be a 2 minute commercial break, dish network and directv have over 5 minute commercial breaks

Answer: They bait and switch with their supposed DVR recording option that they change to On Demand, making it impossible for you to watch what you thought you recorded.
