Stay away

Worst customer service imaginable. Lied to by agent (No we didn't lose Sunday Ticket). Put account on hold to see if that was true or not. That temporarily stopped billing. Finally called to totally cancel service and now am getting billed for the month I canceled because I had to "activate the account to cancel it."

Spent better part of 3 days and hours on the phone talking to people from god know where just to cancel my service. They make it so very difficult and timely you almost will not do it. I'm sure they get that from the communist rules.

Losing channels

Direct TV is the worst cable company around. I lost a couple channels and was told they were working on getting them back. The gave me some channels to compinsant for the ones I lost and they were channels nobody watches. I got my channels back for 4 days and lost them again. I called and got the same sob story that they are working on it. I told them they have til the end of this week to fix the problem or I'm going to another company. I'm tired of dealing with these idiots!

CBS and nexstar

This is like the 3rd or 4th time that you have taken cbs off air in the summer. Almost all the shows I watch are on cbs so if it is not back on the air by the time fall season starts in aweek I will be canceling and going with someone who takes care of its customers especially since I am paying over twice what I started out paying. Do the right thing for us the customers. The very first day 21 years ago my boss ask who pays my salary answer is the customers.

All went ok while to have DirectTV for years. Expensive but OK. The trouble sarted when I tried to cancel the account... Talked to one person, Terrance, on July 26th and was told that I should suspend the account and think about whether I wanted to switch to the Direct TV streaming service to save money. So at this point my account is under suspension so I called to cancel my account while it was under suspension so that I could be done with DTV. I wasn't told this but when i called to disconnect my account it made me active for the next month instead of just turning it off so i got a bill for the next billing cycle for $216 even though i had disconnected all of my receivers because i was told i was disconnected. When I called to ask why they just said that there was nothing they could do to help me and that I owed the $216 because I canceled my service the day after the billing cycle. I can't afford this kind of expense and that was why i canceled but evidently DTV just wanted to penalize for deciding it was too expensive... I would advise not to even start with service from DirectTV.

Company has been declining exponentially the last few years...With all the optional streaming competition, they should be more proactive to keep customers...Looks like they are going to follow Blockbuster and Yellowpages into oblivion...If you are employed by them, you might update your resume...

They are impossible to deal with! We've been customers for close to 30 years. They used to be good when they were a stand alone TV service. Since they joined w/ ATT they are HORRIBLE!. ATT is so vad I even changed phone service. THAT was the best move I ever made! My bill went up from $125.00 to $194.43! The programming is good if you like a lot of junk viewing. Just spent 1 hr+ on the phone w/ them. I'm going to switch to the Choice plan which will be $164 until next May when it will go up to $202 (& that's without HBO, Showtime)! So, now I'm looking for a new TV service. Their customer service is terrible. Don't get involved w/ them! Their pricing changes every time you talk to them. They seem a bit confused as well. I don't care what their accent is, etc. I DO care that they don't seem to know what they are doing. Don't believe anything they tell you. Make sure you document everything you discuss & include date & time. It will be helpful. Hit the wrong star for sevice. It is a zero

I am paying almost $200.00 for a service that I can't watch. Direct TV is trying to charge me extra to fix a service that I'm paying almost $200.00 for, and it keeps freezing. Horrible customer service, CANCEL DIRECT TV NOW!

I started with DIRECTV over 15 years ago in California and kept it when I moved to Nevada. Now it's time to leave. Although they are still good, they have lost programming. I'm disappointed I cannot watch the final round of Golf because they don't have a working contract with the local carrier. I've struggled with the decision but at $185 monthly I deserve better. The choice to leave constitutes a real disruption to a consumer. It means rebuilding everything and going to streaming services and switching out equipment for three TVs, but I feel the decision will get me the programming I want at an overall lower price point. Additionally with the changes for the NFL to streaming services there is no clear advantage to having DIRECTV over the competition. DIRECTV has always had the advantage of Stop, Reverse and Replay, Slow-Motion, and Record features. But the price point for the different packages is ridiculous at best. My wife likes Spanish channels so in addition to paying extra for what DIRECTV offers we also have to pay for Vix and or Fubo TV. Granted, there id no one service that offers every viewing experience for a decent price point but it is now worth it to take a serious review to get what we like. I will endeavor to provide an update once I've decided.

LESS THAN ONE STAR

We called to cancel our Direct TV service after 15 years because we no longer get MANY channels that we pay for, and the costs have only continued to increase. On that call, we were told that we were paid in full and to send back the equipment. Today, we get another bill and are told we will received another "final" bill. My husband has been on the phone with them for over an hour. RIDICULOUS!

Hubby called to cancel. Saving 100.00 by going to you tube tv.
He waited on hold a half hour to get a rep. Then hr spent the next 25 min trying to get rep to cancel. The rep would not take no for an answer. He kept trying to push deals. Then he hung up on Hubby. Hubby had to call back again to verify it was cx. Tell them you are getting rid of tvs so they will cx faster. Can't use it if u don't have tvs lol

Horrible Company

They completely refuse to tell you up-front that if you get their dish service, they are going to attach a dish to your home that they will refuse to remove if you ever cancel your service. If you want it removed, it's about a $500 expense because your roof is now damaged. But they don't hesitate to say, "oh return the box, remotes, wires by putting them into a bag and going to drop them off so they are returned."

Crappy company that doesn't deserve anyone's business.

Way over priced.

Direct TV is a WAY overpriced rip off service. $140 a month for local tv and very few other channels. We are looking for another service and after 16 years we are DONE with Direct.

I just canceled directv for the second and last time. All they did was lie about everything. My bill went up 30 dollars in just 16 months. When I signed up I told them I did not want and specials or promotional deals, just a constant payment which would be the same every month. Of course they lied and, in less then 6 months my bill went up 10 dollars followed be an 20 Increase in then a year. So make sure you get everything in writing if you sign up with them.

Had been a directv customer for a few years in Virginia and then Florida when we moved. When we moved we decided on directv it's an auto pay, I called set it up explicitly said I did not need any devices, I was told the monthly charge, but this didn't include taxes, ok for 20 months I didn't check anything the bill was the same every month, well you better check your bill when we decided to look into something cheaper than $90.00 month we noticed we were being charged $5.00 a month for a device that we never requested, never received and was never activated. When I called directv to inquire I was told fedx had delivered it, well I never received it and I am entitled to a refund, I was told no you still owe us $20.00. What a joke this company is they tried blaming me, I never ordered it, I didn't have it and it was never activated. Directv needs to be shut down they are scammers and rip customers off with their BS charges. And the BBB is absolutely no help.

I cancelled Directv back in 7/2022 and they sent me an email to return equipment the day I cancelled. I sent everything back thru Fed-ex as they requested and Directv sent me a confirmation email that they in fact received all equipment. They sent me a bill the next month (which I thought was my final bill) and payed it in full. The next month they sent another bill starting that I missed last months payment and need to pay in full. I called them up and spoke to ( Dave) in customer service and told him that I no longer have Directv and I sent everything back as they requested a month ago. He stated that there was no records of me cancelling service and no records of me sending equipment back as well. Luckily I saved all my correspondence and told Dave that I have proof that I did. He told me that he would open a complaint ticket which they will look into over the next 60 days and will get back to me. The 60 days came and went and I received bills that I now owe 3 months past due. It's now been a year and I still get bills telling me that they are about to send me to collections after I sent multiple letters to them about me cancelling and they still billed me. I haven't had Directv in my house since last July 2022 and they keep billing me each month. I tryed to call multiple times in the last year to speak with an executive of the company regarding my situation and they keep sending me to the retention /collections department. The manager there just tells me no matter who I call they will just send the call to there department for collections. Now, I'm in collections / retention department and they did tell me that my account is closed ( do to lack of payment) but still billing me each month like I have the cable. This company is so horrible and I recommend to everyone to Stay far away from them as a cable company. I'm now in the process of filing a lawsuit.
