I've been suffering for 20 years with Diectv. Finally had enough! Piss pore customer service. Over seas China people have no knowledge or solutions to most issues. Most of the time you can't understand you or you them. They hang up on you disconect, lie and promise things that they can't deliver.
Billing is a nightmare, charging you for packages you never ordered. I spent 6 hours with NO resolution.
Finally couldn't take it any more. Canceled forever! Spectrum here I come!
I cancelled my service in the middle of the billing cycle and I haven't used it since. I even told the tech that I wouldn't be using the service but they said they couldn't cancel until the 2nd but my bill was all caught up. Turns out that it wasn't and I've still been charged an entire month for the service and they don't pro-rate, so I have to pay for half of a month where I didn't use their service. I will never deal with this company again. Not only was the customer service completely unhelpful, but the stupid satellite would go out if the wind blew too hard. Stay away from this company unless you have absolutely no choice.
I've had several TV providers and DirectTV is the worst. Buffers a lot even when I have high speed internet. Very hard to navigate the guide and channels. I would get rid of them if I could get another TV provider in my area. Horrible app.
Just terrible customer service. They connected a service that was not requested and then continued to send me equipment and charge me after I told them that I had not requested it. I thought we finally resolved it, after I had to go through the hassle of returning equipment I didn't ask for, but then, I keep getting emails that they are reconnecting me! Then I have to call back again and every call is a 10 min plus hold time and then often you will be disconnected before you speak with anyone. It has sucked up hours of my life and is very irritating. Avoid ATT if possible!
Didn't even bother to show up for the install date! What a joke, don't even bother with this company, they're a complete joke!
Greedy corporate thieves. Shut you off claiming you are past due when bill is weeks away to pay! Cancelling and going to cable. Better yet, Peacock and Netflix, here I come

Horrific customer service compounded by language barriers and lack of knowledge about basic service offerings. For example, I wasn't told that my entire library of recordings would be deleted because of my transition from satellite to streaming, nor was I told that the NFL channel was not offered through streaming. My transition from satellite to streaming was a multiple call, multiple transfer (from satellite to streaming and back again), massively frustrating descent into hopelessness. And yes, they owe me money too which I have not received yet.
We have been Directv customer for 17 years. When AT&T bought them it has went downhill. I used to have to call every year to get my package lowered in price. They used to call it loyal rewards. Well this year when I called they informed me that there is no rewards at this time. I'll have to keep calling back. For being a loyal customer for 17 years that's what we get. Keep spending and wasting your time to call us back! I don't think so! People down the road from me signed up and got same package as us for $95 a month and we are paying $190 a month. Great way to treat your loyal auto pay customers DIRECTV! I called to cancel service. Lady says you actually pay a month in advance. You will screw yourself out of a few weeks that you already paid for. Ok. She scheduled it to shut off before next billing cycle. Said I would owe nothing. LIE! Got a bill few weeks later saying we owed for a month of service. I disputed it. Received a letter saying all charges were correct. I told them to listen to phone conversation, we did exactly what the employee told us to do. They say they record conversations for accuracy. Well why not this phone conversation? I'll tell you why. They are so desperate for money they are making there customers they still have pick up the slack for the customers they have lost! That's why your bill is so high! Don't use this company! We will never go back to this company even if it was the only option we have, never! Was paying $190 a month for the worst service, shows we have seen millions of times. Switched to Verizon and now pay $25 a month for streaming! What a game changer! Hmmmm $190 or $25 a month? Goodbye DIRECTV. Maybe you should start treating your loyal customers better!
Installation canceled 3 times what a freaking joke. Wasted my whole day waiting. NEVER WILL GET ME AS CUSTOMER AGAIN. Another appt cancelation due to staffing issues but yet I'm already being billed. What a joke
If I am watching a program get a message saying no internet service. I call and am told its the software Also I am using outdated equipment, and they will not replace what I have. I pay over $100 a month for crappy service. How does a person get better service?
If u don't get their protection pkg they charge u $100 to come to ur house to fix their equipment that they installed why should u have to pay extra for protection pkg on their equipment. Direct tv has been having problems with ABC that they can't fix/resolve they blame it on ABC but my neighbor has COX tv with NO ISSUES with ABC customer service/support says they have done everything they can and still blame it on ABC but when I tell them that my neighbor who has COX tv with NO issues with ABC they can't explain why all they continue to say it's problems with ABC very bad service but they have NO PROBLEMS with deducting money from my bank for my bill VERY DISSATISFIED!
I had TV installed. I did not get what was promised so cancelled within 24 hours where you do not have to pay an early termination fee. They charged me a fee anyway and when I called for a refund was informed I would be getting a pre-paid Visa card in 2-3 months. Meanwhile they have my $500.00. This is ridiculous, they had no right to take my money in the first place and could care less about getting me my money back.
I was with DirecTV for seven years - On year five I started having trouble with HD stations not coming in - For over a year they sent technicians to FIX the problem - One technician was here for four hours and then told me they couldn't fix it - Every time I requested a payment adjustment because I wasn't receiving what I was paying each month, their answer was raise my rate every six months - They would not work with me for a solution - DO NOT USE DIRECTV!
First, only use a satellite service only when you don't have any other choice, it's terrible during bad weather.
Next, DIRECTV plans can never be broken even for 95 year old veterans who no longer needs television service. I've tried to call and explain his situation but DIRECTV doesn't care about their customers, only money for there spotty product.
The only tv provider we can get since we live in bfe... This is the second time our bill has been messed up due to poor communication between CenturyLink and direct tv. Pay my bill, no overpayment and money not seen by direct tv on their end. I have no overpayment on CenturyLink tho! All direct tv does is jack up the prices and give you more $#*!ty channels that nobody $#*!ing watches. Their reps are out to get money not to fix issues. Their supervisors are just as ridiculous. Go with anyone over direct tv. If my internet was fast enough I wouldn't even have cable. Which sucks anyways.
I know I'm not the only one with the issue between CenturyLink and dtv because the rep stated it is happening a lot! If something is happening a lot why not try to fix the issue instead of $#*!ing your customers?
I was a month behind I called they made payment arrangements to pay part and rest next month with new bill said it would be fine so I set up arrangements and paid part. Three days later turned off. I called told them about payment arrangements and they said oh we see the note where you set up and working said it would be ok, but we don't honer payment arrangements and will not turn back on!
Anytime you call customer service for assistance you're on the phone for a minimum of one hour. Totally unacceptable. Recently our receivers (we have 9 in our house) have been dying. I was just on the phone with not one but three different agents. I had already been online beforehand and trouble shot thru their website. Each agent I spoke with wanted to trouble shoot again with me (after asking name, address and security pin each time you're transferred.) Our receiver is dead. We need a new one sent. Instead of sending one in the mail they are sending an agent out to replace it. Which means I have a 4-hour window in which I have to stay home for them to come out and replace it. So not only are they wasting my time with an over hour phone call (AGAIN) but now they are wasting my time with a 4-hour appt window. Worst company EVER! *end of rant*
When I signed up for Direct TV I was told I would get a $100 gift card. When I called about the card I was told I needed to call a number within 120 days. I was never told I needed to call to get the card. My remote control stopped working so I contacted them. I was told a replacement was $35 so I ordered one. After I received the remote control my monthly bill went up $10. I was told that buying a remote was considered a program change and that raised my monthly rate. I suggest that you try anyone else for TV service bot Direct TV.
I've never signed up for direct tv but had someone else apparently do it and I asked them to send doc's on the sign up but still hasnt and sent me to collections. Worst ever company. I'd rather watch youtube. I would give negative stars if I could.

Answer: It is a scam 100%. Just read the reviews. You don't realize it until they got your money and you need something! They are holding peoples money from them that doesn't belong to them. They may even tell you you'll get it back. Just keep waiting, you wont. Then you have to call back and go through the entire process again. I'm on 6 weeks now/Overdraft fees/No Thanksgiving/ and I have photo proof I cancelled 2 days before my free trial was up. They just didn't want me to cancel! Lol. They do things different here. You have been WARNED my friends!
Answer: Doesn't matter since they ignore the discrepancy once they have you under contract. No wonder their rating is so poor!
