THIS COMPANY SUCKS
June 7, 2020

I ordered on April 26th, they've already got my money. Here it is, middle of June - and nothing! No response to emails. I wish I had researched them before making a donation, which is basically what it is at this point because it's looking like I'll never receive my order.

Ordered 4 pink magnolias 2nd week of April, didn't arrive until June 7. Four tiny bags of dirt with broken and mangled stems. And no sign of the promotional free Gladiolus. I wish I'd seen these reviews before I ordered from them. I wish I could give them negative stars. Avoid at all costs.

I ordered on April 24. Three weeks later I attempted to call ALL DAY LONG and the phone was busy. On May 11 I sent an email. They sent an automated response and said someone would be in touch. That never happened. The last time we used this company, our plants were a bit driend out and some survived. The ones that did not we assumed responsibility for because it was in the summer and hot, feeling we should have waited until fall to order. After reading these reviews it has become clear this is a scamming and sham of a business.

They are fradulent and should certainly be investigated.

On April 21, ordered 3 plants and was advised to allow 2 to 3 weeks for processing.
On May 16 - 3 1/2 weeks later, requested a cancellation or confirmation of shipment.
On May 18, Direct Gardening said they would do their best to cancel the order, but could not if it was already in shipping.
On May 28 - 10 days later, requested cancellation again due to the plants not being received.
On May 29, Direct Gardening said my cancellation was being processed.
Today, June 4, a credit still has not been issued. Of course, this would be a non-issue if Direct Gardening only charged your credit card at the time of shipping.
Lesson learned - read the online vendor reviews.

My $227.52 order, 129 items came in a plastic bag about 14"x 36" which included THREE Rose's with branches sticking OUTSIDE of the bag. The only semi-healthy plants were the small mums. My order was TWO WEEKS late, I cancelled the order after not receiving it in FOUR WEEKS and they said they were sorry that I cancelled but it was already in shipping on May 22nd. On May 31st, NINE DAYS later they sent another email stating it had just shipped. So according to their own emails, my order Sat NINE DAYS in their shipping dept. This is why DEAD MATERIAL goes out to customers! One of my $17.98 rose sticks are brown! I'm attacking their emails as proof of the nine day gap. Of course they billed my credit card a week AFTER I CANCELLED and then shipped very low quality material. Will NEVER EVER recommend or buy from them again!

When you try to call with a problem, the phone is always busy. I ordered over $700 worth of plants, on separate orders. Waited 6 weeks! Some plants were FINALLY shipped. Most were fine, but some looked like twigs in a sealed bag! That isn't what it showed I was getting. Had my card charged, 2 weeks later no shipment date and no shipment. Emailed to have all of the rest of the orders canceled, was told they were in shipping and couldn't get cancelled. They started shipping one shipment a day 2 WEEKS AFTER THAT! I returned them! I will pay the extra $$$ and buy local from now on because of this! STAY AWAY FROM THEM!

Plants came dead, almost 2 months after being ordered. Shriveled and dry, it was a pathetic site. This company should not do business or stay on their clearly mom & pop scale. They cannot keep up, nor do they have the product and distribution down well enough to try to be national. I told them to keep my $50 from the order - they need it more than I do.

I placed an order on 4/18/20. I was told it would ship in 2-3 weeks. It is now June 2nd, and it never shipped. Today, I was told they canceled my order because my "credit card was declined." My credit cards are paid off immediately after I make a charge and all have zero balances. There's no way that it was declined, nor did I get a fraud alert or other alert that might have resulted in a declined charge or request for approval from my credit card company. I e-mailed them and sent them a message through the web form telling them that I did not want my order to be canceled when I have waited for 2 months for it and to please contact me so I could ensure they entered my card number correctly. No response. I have tried dozens of times to call the phone number on their website, and it gives a strange beep and says "user busy" every time. I don't think it is even a real number. BEWARE!

My sisters and I ordered $160 worth of rose bushes as a gift for my mom for mother's day. Given the pandemic and their notice on shipping delays+demand, I was completely accepting that there was a 3-4 week delivery timeframe. SEVEN weeks later, I received a notice that my card was declined and my order was cancelled and to resubmit the order. (Within that time I had debit card fraud and it had been replaced with a new one.) I contacted them asking if I could give a new cc number but they said no, I would have to resubmit the order and wait an additional 7 weeks to have the order filled. They're heavy Google ads advertising gets them at the top of the page--this is not through merit! Spend your money with a good company. I ordered 3 bags of 20 each potatoes. Took 8 weeks to arrive. Opening them up was a risk to my health (experienced an asthma flare up) as they were rotten, moldy, dripping and smelling horrible once the bags were opened. The actual potatoes were cut up pieces of about 1" in diameter with no sprouting in sight. This was not stated at time of sale, so you think you are getting potatoes ready for planting... Nope.

60 tiny potatoes cost $40.

I contact Direct Gardening and their response is to mail it all back if you want a refund rather than a replacement (which after waiting for 8 weeks, we are WAAAYYY beyond planting date, so no, I do want a refund. I checked and yes, they wanted the rotten potatoes back, but they did not provide and address to mail it back. So I am mailing it back to the shipping label address and hoping to get my refund within the next month?. I am out $8.30 plus a lot more in medicine due to the mold exposure.
DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!

Rotten potatoes

Will never order from them again. Most of the plants arrived dead. Some of this could have been fedex because they are extremely bad at delivering and I had to call them to find out what was up with my package. But direct gardening would not replace even 1 because I didn't have the original records from the package. I had all the other conformation emails. Very poor customer service. I will never order from anyone associated with them again.

I ordered Aspen trees, purple leaf bush and red dogwood hedges. They were shipped in a plastic bag. The roots were molded and all the trees twigs were brown. We tried to revive them but they were rotted. I send two emails and was told to plant them. We own an organic farm and know when roots are rotted
I will contact Amex fir a dispute. Don't buy from a company that ships in plastic bags.
