Dillard's reputation is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, particularly regarding perceived discrimination and unprofessional service at certain locations. Many customers report negative experiences with returns and exchanges, highlighting a lack of compassion and flexibility from staff. While some employees receive praise for their helpfulness, these positive encounters are overshadowed by frequent complaints about poor customer service, long wait times, and inadequate support for online orders. I love the in store dillards. Having 2 locally i wouldnt trade it. The sales are unbeatable, however the website is beyond lackluster. Selling out of stock items and waiting weeks to refund as thsy "search" inventory in stores after youve already paid. To EVENTUALLY refund half your order they cant fulfill. Highly dissappointing. Ill stick in store because online was so disheartening
I stopped in Dillards@ the Oakwood Shopping Center, and was blown away by the service that I received from Beverlyn Martin, she went above, and beyond to help me locate a shirt that I was interested in, she was very professional, and kind. I shall return!
I have been waiting over a month for my refund, I understand Covid has affected delivery's but my return shows delivered on 6/25 and still no refund. You can not reach anyone by phone and the chat feature is a joke!
I purchased 3 items from them 2 weeks ago. I received 2 of the items within 3 days. The 3rd item has been in Wyoming since July 18th and has not moved. I called to cancel the order and have another resent to me but it was "so sad too bad". She said the item is not considered lost as they are going by that it was in transit to another facility on the 22nd. So I live in Colorado and it is in transit from Wyoming and it takes more than 6 days to get here? My issue is that I have called twice and each time the rep was borderline rude. L I have been a Dillards customer for a long time but no more.
From the head manager to the lowest people- they do not care to satisfy their customers. I bought a dress from them in clearance and it said not returnable and i understood that. However, when i got the dress it was fitting too tight because of the material it has. I called them right away and told them the situation if there could be an one time exception for that exchange in size since i am not asking for money back. I called and tried so hard, i cried on them that i cannot afford having 70$ sitting on mu closet and not being Able
To wear it. In the situation we are in with the covid, they closed their fitting rooms and now we have to buy online and just "HOPE" it would fit right! Other wise you are stuck with it!
The girl that answer the phone, ANGIE HUNG UP ON ME! How rude and unprofessional that is.
And second, as a manager you would want to satisfy your customers. Christina C. Didn't even try to help me. She was repeating the policy over and over again and not listening to my concern and try to give me an option or something to make me feel a little bit better about WAISTING my money here'
Dillards need to improve on customer service trainings! ( i don't know if they have any)
They WILL NOT do a price adjustment or allow you to return an item and then buy it back so that you could get the clearance price. Even the MANAGER stated that he was NOT allow to do either of the options I had ask for. There is NO CUSTOMER SATISFACTION; they do NOT offer any service. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING!
Needed to exchange the item I ordered. Item cost $35, after shipping $45. Then had to pay $10 return label. I shipped the item and then contacted them to see if it had been received. They said no it had not been received and did an automatic refund of $25 to me. Did not ask for a refund, I did not want a refund, I wanted in exchange for smaller size. They only refunded me $25. So overall I am now out $30. And I have no item. I have continuously asked them to ship me the correct item and to take back their refund.
For those who want to order online be careful! The item can look different in real then one you see on the picture. Once you purchase it and if it is " not returnable item " forget it... they won't take it back! You stuck with it. Very unhappy
We went to the costumer service and they where really rude they need to get better costumer service. The women was rude she was just rolling her eyes
I purchased two dresses online March 7th for an April wedding. The dresses arrived about a week later. Like everything else, the wedding in April was postponed. I had planned on returning the dresses to the Dillards store and was assured I could do this when I ordered them. I contacted Dillards today and it took 2 hours to get through to someone. I was then told, since it had been over 30 days, the dresses could not be returned. I hope Dillards is one of the stores that goes bankrupt.
They sent me all the wrong clothes. From different color jeans and size, they also sent me a dress. I contacted customer service but due to technical difficulties on their end they hung up on me.
I bought a suit for my wedding, they tailored it. It never fitted correctly, it was not wearable. They sales person didn't even talk to the manager, the excuse was that there was nothing to do since it is not returnable because it was altered. I have a suit from Dillard's on my closet that cost me over 500.00 and can't even wear it. Talk to manager recently, she didn't had an answer or anything to say.
I had to return some pants and Rachael Berreyes and Sophie Williams at store #430 Hamilton Place gave me outstanding customer service. Thank You, Bob M *******247
There is nothing that tells you when you buy something on PayPal, they won't refund PayPal--they'll give you "store credit." I live 500 miles from the nearest store and there is nothing else I want to buy online from them. I would have just used a credit card if I had known--there should be a large notice when you click "pay with paypal" if this is their backwards policy. I'm stuck with a $350 Dillards card, which they refuse to cancel (although they could) and send a check. To top it all off, their customer "service" representative was snippy and rude.
They changed my card which changed delivery method which caused me not to receive my bill by email which caused the 1 and only late payment I have ever had on my credit report at the age of 61. I contacted them serveral times and they refused to remove it. I have not and will not ever shop there again.
One of the best online experiences I have had. I only wish they could do something about their "site feedback". It seems it doesn't work. I clicked a lot to put my review there, but my clicks were useless. Anyway, I was searching for a gift for my 8-year-old son. Came across many options to choose. I'm sure you can find a good pair of trousers or toys or anything else for your children too.
Not the place to buy for other people. Even when you have the original receipt Dilliards refuses anything to the recipient other than a gift card regardless of how the person paid unless you would like to have the amount put back on the purchasers credit card to let them know you don't like their gift. Horrible business practices!
Hi,
The associates and managers appear to be friendly, but they are really not. I mean they really know how to put on a show for people. They have too much miscommunication with their customers as well. They sent me the wrong stuff, and they tell you can get money back to a card, but they force a gift card upon you.
A week before the big day, I purchased some wedding gifts listed on the Bride and Grooms' Dillard's Registry in person at Dillards at Haywood Mall in Greenville, SC. Like many items on such registries, they matched other items in the listed sets. Unfortunately, for the bride and groom, for whatever reason the wedding was called off the day before the event. Unfortunately, for me, I am now stuck with a mixing bowl set that does not match any of my existing kitchenware. The reason I am stuck - of the multiple items I purchased, the bowl set was on sale; and therefore Dillard's only allows you three days to return it, otherwise no refund - not even a store purchase credit!
I bought a pair of boots online, and they sent me the wrong show size, I ordered a 6 and they sent me 8, I was reading other customer's reviews and had similar issues. When I called them, ladies were rude and they sent a complimentary label to return the item and will have my money back god knows when...
Don't buy from this website!
Be aware! Awful customer service and they are not serious...
Answer: I don't know about their in-store customer service, but the phone representative I talked to was snippy. As far as their return policy, for online purchases, just be sure not to use PayPal because they won't refund it and don't tell you that when you order. You have to find out the hard way, when you get a "gift card" in the mail.
Answer: There may be a few negative complaints but Dillard's is actually one of the highest rated retailers on this entire site! It pretty much has one of the best overall scores. And that's saying a lot for any retailer these days. I was surprised myself. If you've had issues, try to take a multi-pronged approach such as myself, calling, emailing, live chat (if they have it) - until you get a resolution. Also, try to find a feedback section and state your case there as well. Good Luck.
Answer: Nope -Dillards has a horrible return policy and are very rude if you go in person
