I have been impressed MULTIPLE times here. Margaret Hood and Kevin Courtney both went out of their way to help me and my sister in law register and plan for our weddings. They made us both feel special on separate occasions. All staff members were exceptional! The quality that most places are missing is here. They've had some of the best product selections too.
Buyers beware. Dillards has a horrible return policy for on sale items (you only have 3 days to return most items so be very careful when buying). As for the service, expect to wait several minutes for someone to help you even when the store is empty in the men's department but especially in the purse department. In addition, purses that you could find on sale online are more expensive here. Online sales also have a better return policy. Save yourself a trip and go to Macy's or shop online. If you are in the south Texas, McAllen area, Dillards is worse than most areas.
Today, I went to Dillard's in Wellington to buy a blouse and ended up buying a whole new wardrobe. Sue and Danielle, located in the downstairs women's department, were so lovely and welcoming. They spent hours pulling me together with pants, tops and dresses. There was no pressure to buy and we talked and laughed the whole time. I felt like I was in a small boutique with impeccable personalized attention.
I ordered a non returnable dress online a while ago. I understand it was non returnable under normal condition, and I never intended to return it, but the dress was defective and when I tried to return it in the store the manager said she cannot do anything about it and I can take the dress to a retail store and pay someone to fix it. Unbelievable!
The last two times I ordered, it took two weeks to get the products. Absolutely unacceptable. I ordered 4 products from 4 different online retailers. I received products from the other retailers within 5 days. Dillards seems to take two weeks and tell you it shipped, burg the shipping company has no record. Terrible service.
I was nearly shot to death in Austin, TX, for simply complaining about not getting my Estee Lauder cosmetics I ordered and paid for by credit card at Dillard's Department Store. I had paid for my purchase by credit card and waited patiently for the mess at the Cosmetic counter. The poor workers were trying to put things together. It was a disaster! After waiting for an hour, I complained to a manager who acted like a manager but was no manager. I never raised my voice and acted nice.
6 police came down and circled me like sharks ready for the kill with GUNS! I was in severe harm and ran. They were ready to destroy me and shoot me dead. Probably take me in the back and hog tie me till I died. I left without purchase and complained to my husband. I went home and saw where they hog tied 7 men mostly black and Hispanic. I am Lilly White and they came after me. I complained to Mrs. Dillard in her lofty expensive Gulfstream Jet flying around in luxury and she got nervous. She offered me $200.00 for Dillard's near miss of trying to kill me for what? I took the money and will never shop at this evil store owned by Demons. I ordered three different times on dealers website And all three times the items were canceled they couldn't give me any legit reason why they were canceled my money has not been returned back to my card every time I call and speak to someone in their rude and that's with the customer service representatives I'm in the supervisors They make it as it is my fault that they are being canceled they have no empathy on the fact that these are items that are in high demand and when they finally return my money I probably won't be able to get the items I will probably be sold out my money is still not on my card I'm very I'm upset and they are very Rude
I just wanted to give a shout out to Stacy at the Dillards at the Town Center. She more than assisted me in the make-up area. Dillards is one of the few department stores that carry my make up brand Dermablend. I wasn't able to find my shade at the Dillards at the Avenues nor were they very helpful in assisting me at finding a shade that matched my skin. So we made the trip to the Town Center and were pleasantly served by Stacy. Her can do attitude and sweet nature made all the difference in my shopping experience. Thank you once again Stacy for your excellent customer service!

I just tried to return month old shoes that the zipper had broken. I just wanted to exchange them. I did not have my receipt. Unlike Nordstrom who will bend over backwards to help you I was told absolutely NO! I could show them on my bank statement the purchase but they basically said I could have gotten them anywhere. These are $200 shoes, one month old that have a broken zipper. I will NEVER shop at Dillards again, when Nordstom is a much better alternative and Nordstom will treat you like a customer they'd like to keep.
DO NOT BUY, DO NOT BUY. I ordered a christmas gift on 12/9/20. The tracking to today 12/17/20 says USPS is still waiting for the item. I called on 12/14/20 to find out what the story was. The rep reordered and sent another item FedEx next day. On 12/17/20 I checked the order status and someone cancelled that order. I called again to find out what was going on and no one knows why that order was cancelled. I talked to a useless "supervisor" name Stephanie in the Texas call center and she was no help. I was told by her that items aren't being scanned to speed up shipping. So I'm supposed to trust her and hope a christmas gift for my wife arrives on time? The whole experience is like dealing with a call center in India or Pakastan, not the US. SO PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND SHOP SOMEWHERE ELSE. BECAUSE THIS COMPANY FOR LACK OF A BETTER TERM "SUCKS"
So I have been wanting a Kitchenaid mixer for quit sometime. Black Friday weekend fave me the perfect opportunity to buy it. Dillard.com had a reasonably priced Kitchenaid mixer so my bf jump on it & purchased for me. 5days later I get an email that the order was canceled with no explanation. I call customer service & confirm it was canceled due to them running out of product. I was LIVID bc had we known we could have purchased the mixer elsewhere during Black Friday. I ask to speak to a supervisor & the only thing the offer is free shipping on my next order. & I have to CALL IN to order like it's 1990 to get that little $6 discount on shipping. It's safe to say I will NEVER shop Dillard's again EVER. Now I'm back to no mixer or face paying $500 for the mixer bc the sales are over

Be sure you want what you buy here. Even with Covid issues, the 30 day return policy stands. I spent the first half of Covid on family property a days drive from town and could not do the return in time. Other stores have better customer service.
Purchased a coach purse full price the next day they reduced it by $60... i called for price adjustment and the said they do not offer price adjustments. Most other stores offer price adjustments... very disapointed and will never shop at Dillards ever Again
I ordered slippers and returned them and I used Afterpay. My Afterpay payments never stopped and then I received a Dillards gift card as my refund. They wouldn't put the money back on my debit card

Answer: I don't know about their in-store customer service, but the phone representative I talked to was snippy. As far as their return policy, for online purchases, just be sure not to use PayPal because they won't refund it and don't tell you that when you order. You have to find out the hard way, when you get a "gift card" in the mail.
Answer: There may be a few negative complaints but Dillard's is actually one of the highest rated retailers on this entire site! It pretty much has one of the best overall scores. And that's saying a lot for any retailer these days. I was surprised myself. If you've had issues, try to take a multi-pronged approach such as myself, calling, emailing, live chat (if they have it) - until you get a resolution. Also, try to find a feedback section and state your case there as well. Good Luck.
