How can a streaming app cost me $20 p/m (and somehow they recently started doubling their fee) and be this bad? Sometimes it won't play anything at all, other times it forgets where I am in a season and starts me at the beginning. I can't keep watching. So, so bad.
I just wonder if Bell has been reading all these reviews, and if so, they should be bringing better content, better streaming reliability and hire developers that know how to program an app that is user friendly across all platforms. I'm sticking with my US services and IPTV. Thanks all for your honest reviews, saved me some money! Happy New Year! :)
CraveTV has fantastic content (mainly HBO), however, the delivery is absolutely horrendous. The app constantly bugs out: it starts you from the beginning of the content you are trying to watch, plays different audio tracks from what should be played, and 'forgets' what episode you were watching -- making binging infuriating. Could be great once the bugs are worked out, but for now, it is truly terrible.
Bought CraveTV gift card for my boyfriend for a gift and it never was delivered to him. It has been 2 weeks now and even after contacting CraveTV about the issue, nothing has been done. How can a simple online gift card be so difficult to send? No other similar service provider or online shopping has this type of issue. I am so frustrated with the service and the lack of response about the issue from CraveTV. I would 100% not recommend. Use Netflix, it is a far superior streaming service.
Three weeks since paying for Crave and it still doesn't work. Outsourced tech help is useless. Judging from the reviews, it is better to bail now rather than wait for paying for another month. This borders on scam!
CRAVE changed the APP so that it would no longer work on my equipment and refused to give me a refund. When I spoke to support they told me I wouldn't be charged, but I was.
I also find the interface awkward and flaky. Content poor. They make it look like they have a lot of titles by having the same title appear in multiple categories.
So here I am not able to post a Google review. It seems impossible to do. So much for Google's "Don't Be Evil". A review on my local pizza place? NP. A review on a billion dollar company? NOT POSSIBLE. I shouldn't be surprised. So CRAVE has done a substantial offering upgrade. It includes HBO & Showtime & Movies. I am Impressed. It even seems worth the $22.+ per month. However, it gets dragged down by it's $#*!ty service. Literally. You have one job. Serve up videos at a good speed and good quality without buffering. For gosh sake you EJITS at BELL MEDIA... ADD SERVERS. Increase Bandwidth. Quit being so cheap and stupid. You have a good basic product. Service it. If you want to make Netflix $$$, GROW UP.
Everytime i want to watch a show i select it and it goes back to the main page. I fight everytime to watch the selected show. I get tired and go to Netflix. It's just wayyyy to slow!
I see great potential, great selection. Please update your stream, or whatever you need to do to correct this.

This is completely unacceptable, having a maximum of 720p (unless I buy a Gen 4 apple tv) is insane. I'm paying for the crave +HBO package at $20 a month, with Netflix I pay $14 a month and get 4k streaming.
I would probably be better off cancelling my crave subscription getting a VPN and subscribing to HBO Go
I actually enjoy crave, I have no functionality problems the app runs great and buffers quickly, but 720p resolution ruins all of the good things about the service. With 1080p tv's as cheap as they are now it's ridiculous that this isn't the max streaming quality, it really should be 4k but I would be satisfied at 1080p.
They must hire developers who have never coded before because I have NEVER used a website with so many glitches before. Half the time, even on my mac [no matter which browser I use], the homepage takes over a minute to load. Then, to search for my show, the search bar doesn't even show up properly. Finally, I search my show, and CONSTANTLY I get the same error; this show has been restricted, need parental permission or something... I am 28, and trying to watch a pg show. I have called Crave so many times, and they always say 'clear your cache.' I have done this 4 TIMES since I signed up 2 months ago. Literally, worst website every. Decent content, and absolutely embarrassingly pathetic site that needs SO much more work before it should have been live for users to access. Step it up Bell.
Glad I'm on a free trial, as this is worst than the previous version. Took me 20min to find a show that is included in the basic service. It is like if Netflix charged you extra for all their top shows. What were you thinking Bell Media, you can be much better than this. Shame shame.
They just hijack Canadian rights to a couple of hbo shows and charge like netflix... but without any other real content. Avoid. Better just to buy the series you want on apple or google play.
Honestly, the content is great, but just like everyone else on here, the site and app is extremely flawed and as opposite to user-friendly as possible. It always lags, which defeats the purpose of paying for a high-quality streaming service. I had even given it 3 tries, and each time I've concluded that it was a complete waste of money. I've cancelled for the last time. It is disappointing that Canadians can't get more options for streaming and will resort to keeping cravetv. Better off buying coffees with that money.
I regret subscribing to CraveTV so much. Unless you upgrade to the HBO there are almost no decent shows to watch. My month trial is now up (which gives you access to all the HBO shows) and now my year subscription has kicked in. I have clicked on about 15 shows and every single one says I need to upgrade to watch it. I can't find a single show that you can watch just using the normal craveTV. I am so disappointed and it is such a waste of money. Please spend your money anywhere else. You will be very disappointed if you subscribe to Crave.
Another thing I found with many shows I was able to watch when I was on my month trail was that alot of shows that it says it has... only has a few seasons and are missing 4, 5, 6 and even 7 seasons. It's ridiculous.
We had Crave TV for about 6 months it worked really well on my TV. Then I was forced to do an update. That's when I could no longer watch it on my TV. My TV is a Smart TV and less then a year old. I sent them an email about the problem they never responded. So I cancelled. They don't seem to care. I would stay away from Crave TV.

Answer: Because they only offer the absolute bare minimum for a streaming service, I suspect the ONLY reason it has lots of subscribers because crave seems to offer more rare shows, but for a bigger price mind you.

Answer: You can't! In the settings online, there is an option, but it doesn't carry over to whatever streaming device you're using it with. Incompetent morons, owned and operated by Canada's leading internet service provider. And Bell Media wonder why people don't like them. My sister has a theory... that Bell keeps their website design backward and out of sync with current progress, so they have an excuse to charge you extra money for their incompetence.
