Craigslist Reviews Summary

The overall reputation of the company is significantly marred by customer dissatisfaction, particularly regarding its platform's functionality and customer service. Users frequently express frustration over the arbitrary removal of legitimate posts, with many feeling that the site is overrun by scams while genuine listings are flagged without explanation. Additionally, the lack of responsive customer support exacerbates these issues, leaving users feeling unheard. Despite some recognition of the platform's potential to connect individuals, the prevailing sentiment is one of disappointment, with many users seeking alternatives due to these persistent challenges.

Its a great website
January 22, 2011

Its a great website. Its free to post items and its popular. Like anything else. You still need to be careful.

My first taste of Craigslist.org got me a barter that worked out extremely well for both myself and the person listing the barter.

Since that went so well. I bought a few baby items for a friends visit. It was cheaper to buy a travel play pen and a baby bouncer on craigslist than for them to pay the baggage fee with the airlines. I then donated the items to charity.

I've also had a tremendous response to a bunch of items I listed that were just taking up space. Craigslist readers got great deals and I gained precious garage space. I'm blown away at the distance some people will drive to pick up a good deal.

I don't bother selling items on eBay. The listing fee, after the sale fee, paypal fee and the hassle of boxing and shipping. It just wasn't worth it for me.

You can; t beat free. craigslist.org is primarily free.

The best classified ads site in the world, hands down. Increasing numbers of scams, but very easy to see through the scams if you have half a brain at all.

This is a great site!
January 6, 2011

This is a great site! I have purchased many items at great deals! This works just like a newspaper. I don't give it all 4 stars due to the scammers. Most scammers when you are buying are easy to notice. When you are selling it is a little harder to spot scams and spams. People will email you with a simple question then you respond and suddenly your spammed by that email address. Buying and trading is nice; the selling can get hairy but I have been successful.

Compared to better designed commercial sites, it cannot compare or compete. Basically, it sucks!

I used craigslist to find a job, its the only way! Wish they had better spam controls though, pretty much anyone can email you any type of garbage... just make sure you don't put your real email and make sure it goest through craigslist!

I like this site for its intended purpose, but it's not safe, so I don't use it any more.

Craigslist is free, which is the best part. The features, are a bit outdated. But Free is free, no real complaints.

I love craigslist
October 26, 2010

I love craigslist.

There's always new material every day and though there are some scam posts- craigslist usually is able to catch onto em.

You can search by typing, by image, by minimum or maximum dollars, etc.

There are so many GOOD things about craigslist that it outweighs the bad. :)

Craigslist is okay, but it's time to step into the 21st century now. A ton of people use Craigslist, so it's a great site for buying and selling, but the navigation lacks big time. The site just has a real 90s feel about it. But... because so many people use it, so do I.

I have been disenchanted by craigslist. It is time for a change please, anything visual would be nice. Oh and the forums are a nightmare! Every time I try to comment on them I get voted off in little to no time (no i am not using curses or any other violation) then I have to wait another seven days if I want to use the forum again. Don't waste your time there. Also most everyone has some kinda spam going. Maybe my experience is just a special one. But I am ready to move on. Besides I can't even get my town on there. The closet one is 2 hours away!

Craigslist is so riddled with unwanted solicitations and scams and when you meet someone to sell or buy your stuff it better be in a public place.
Or you better be armed because you either have money to buy or you have something of value they want.
So just be careful all the time and be in public.
Meet at a police station a library or other government building by a court house with lots of cameras and witnesses and police sheriffs around.

Great website for almost anyone. My family and I have purchased many items for greatly discounted prices from very nice people. Extremely reliable site. However, when making purchases locally and picking things up we always travel in pairs to the pick-up sites, just to be safe. Amazing site!

Craigslist...
August 1, 2010

Craigslist... what more needs to be said? It's good and it's bad. I've found a lot of great deals on craigslist and even found some jobs, but I've also met some really crazy people. One word of advice: don't use your real email with craigslist. Create a fake "craigslist only" email address. I sold this one guy some computer software. I get a call the next day from the guy saying he couldn't figure out how to install it! I tried to help but he just couldn't figure it out, and I couldn't understand the problem because it's as simple as putting it in the DVD drive and clicking "install". I started to feel like he was playing dumb, like maybe he installed it already and wanted a way to get the money back anyway. Finally just told him I couldn't help him. He posted my full name, my email, my phone number and my license plate on craigslist! I gave him back all his money so he'd remove the info. Oh well, just be careful on this website.

I was debating between "Meh." and "Cool" Overall Craigslist works and I've used it. I think it's great in terms of having lots of good deals listed and the service is free so that's cool. The selection is also great... if you can find it. A few reasons why I gave it 2 and not 3 stars is the spam postings, the scammers, and just the overall usability of the site. If it could improve on those things, Craigslist would really be awesome.

Craigslist.org is like an online Pennysaver that you can check every day to find new ads for things you may need or want. I had listed a house for rent last year on craigslist and my ad was copied and used by an offshore scam ring to solicit deposits and rent checks from unsuspecting prospective tenants. I had to immediately remove the listing and post the home for rent in the newspaper.

There are some scammers lurking there but, for the most part, if you want or need to sell something this is a great place to go. I would suggest that you always have someone with you when you either go to purchase or have someone come to your destination to purchase from you, for safety measures.

With any second hand purchase you run the risk of purchasing something procured in an illegal manner but your own personal filter and personal choice can work that out.

All in all, it is a great place to go for a used product and, sometimes discounted new products.

BEWARE of craiglist you can get scammed and craiglist will do nothing about it. So, I would be very caution in dealing with craiglist. My sister lost over $3000. 00, and craiglist hasnt done nothing about the scam artist being on their web site. I think this is a problem and a big X in my mind to stay away from craiglist.
