The overall reputation of the company is significantly marred by customer dissatisfaction, particularly regarding its platform's functionality and customer service. Users frequently express frustration over the arbitrary removal of legitimate posts, with many feeling that the site is overrun by scams while genuine listings are flagged without explanation. Additionally, the lack of responsive customer support exacerbates these issues, leaving users feeling unheard. Despite some recognition of the platform's potential to connect individuals, the prevailing sentiment is one of disappointment, with many users seeking alternatives due to these persistent challenges.

Great online classifieds site. Have had mostly positive experiences with buying and selling. Be careful when meeting buyers/sellers and beware of scams. Also, the overposts and miscatigorization from apartment complexes are really annoying. At least in my area. I usually flag them when I can. Anyway, if you use common sense in your dealings you should have little problem.
I don't know how people could find anything in their cities before craigslist strated being around. No need for newspaper ads, you can find everything on Craigslist
I like Craigslist but every user just has to be careful of scams. It's not Craigslists fault because they can't control everything that happens on their site.
I have used it to sell my furniture, electronics and clothes. I sold an iphone for $500. I met the person at a Starbucks and had no problems. When selling an expensive item make sure you meet in a public place and ask them to pay you in small bills. I would never take a check. Occasionally you will get creeps who respond to your posting telling you that they want your item and they are willing to pay more than your asking price. Be very suspicious of these people because it's a scam. Never give out any personal information. You can read more about it on the CL site.
I've also used Craigslist for my job search and also found a couple of apartments.
Craigslist is great for buying/selling and to find apartments and houses. If you want to find a date, I wouldn't recommend it. There is a lot of scams and things going on, but overall the site is very useful. I use it often.
Craigslist was my savior when trying to find a place to rent locally. I was in a bind to find a place and found one within just a couple of hours. Met with the landlord to see the place loved it and signed the lease and was in my new place the next day.
Ive gotten jobs, sales, buys, girlfriends, friends, networking, and spam. But the good things way out the spam $#*! all day!
This is an awesome site to find anything from furniture to a job! My partner and I actually found our apartment on here! Not only can you find many good deals on here, you can sell your no longer used items on here for free! Just be careful for the wackos out there and meet in a well-lit and public place. I'm very grateful for this site. The main drawback to CL is some of the fake advertisers.
Craigslist is a really useful site - Looks naff but it is actually quite useful.
The one site I rely on for pretty much everything is craigslist. I
Good site, helps find cheap stuff and I did found apartments there twice. I would like it if it looked a bit "newer", but oh well I prefer usable and useful over looks.
Craigslist is a so/so site for me. Good and not good. A lot of phishers on this site. You will try and apply for a job and they will just ask a lot of questions and details about you then nothing. It's like they are just getting data from you. Heh. I never really had any success in here. If I want to buy or sell something, I think I will go onto a different site.
It depends on where you live as to your experience on Craigslist. You have to keep safety and the possibility of scams in mind. I personally have never had a bad experience with a transaction. This is one of those... if its too good to be true it probably is... kind of things. Don't set yourself up for a bad experience.
Craigslist gets a 5 star in my book. I have never been scammed but have scammers tried to scam me? A million and one times! But if you are streetwise you would do just fine! I have bought and sold stuffs on craigslist successfully, I have hired temp assistants, that turned out to actually work good.
But most of the job offers on there are fake. Don't bother about going to their forum, they are just a bunch of horny guys with nothing to do (sorry for being so outspoken)
I have bought and sold a lot on Craigslist. I loved it when I first started using it. However it is becoming extremely frustrating now due to all the penny bid websites putting fake ads on there. They list very desirable items such as iPhones that seem just a little bit too cheap but not so much so that it's an obvious tip off. The best way to spot them that I have found is to look for odd pricing. Legitimate users round their prices to an even number ie, $100, $125, $200 etc. The scams are usually listed unrounded such as $104, $143, $214 etc. They claim to have just sold the product and then let you in on a little known secret they used to get such a great deal on the product. If you see one of these and get that response it is a scam. Flag it and don't use that site. Craigslist tries to offer anonymity but that backfires when you can track and stop the crooks.
Love love love cl. I sold my car and found my job on Craigslist. I owe this site alot. Keep up the good work. My only complaint is all the spam.
I'd give this 5 stars but there is alot of spam and fraud related posts/activities on here. Besides that, it's great, I've never had decent luck on the job portions though (they aren't exactly straight foward with you when they post their stuff) but the personals are hilarous and some of the items (that arent spam) are pretty decent as well.
I was loking for the job on cragslist, but I find it people they making fraud to the good and poor people... they sent to me money to materials to finish up the house they going to live here in Nevada and money to some groceries for they when they arrival... and I did send money to the people they told me... but the my bank call me and teld me the check I did deposit is bad check... OMG! I don't now waht can I do
It's the worst place to look for JOBS there is. Most of the ads are spammers or agencies collecting your information. I especially avoid any ads that don't give a business address, phone number, fax number or email address. If businesses were to advertise in a newspaper at least one of these things would be listed. If it's only a Craigslist email address that's given, back off! I had to change my personal email address because I was getting 70+ spams a day. I really need a job badly but I'm tired of trying to filter out the 10% real jobs from the rest.
The only problem is that sometimes you can meet too many weird people.
I like the simplicity of craigslist and the fact that it does not charge users. But, the interface is poorly designed and you cannot effectively search for anything specific.
Answer: Because the dealers pay them. Craigslist has turned into a spammers haven. There are next to no real postings left. The scammers flag real postings so their ads get priority. Its a dead site.
