Today was my birthday and I was wanting grits and chicken. Ordered from Cracker Barrel two plates, one for my daughter and myself. Spent $62. The food was horrible, EVERYTHING WAS COLD. Plate should have had a winter coat on to keep it warm. The grits was tasteless, the French toast was soggy, the chicken and sausage was shivering. This was the worst birthday breakfast in history. Food was thrown in the trash.
I have not lived around a Cracker Barrel in the last two years. The last 2 times I went out of my way to eat there has been so disappointing. Scrambled eggs tasted like they were poured out of a carton, all portions were much smaller, no fluffy biscuits, and it breaks my heart. I would prefer to pay more and have the past menu's restored to full portions.
I would have rated lower but it won't let me. I have been eating at cracker barrel every morning when my husband and I get off work for years. Today we went and took his mom and the service was so bad we will never eat there again. It's sad that a place like this has went so far off the tracks.
We always stop in Liberty MO to eat at Cracker Barrel on our way North. It was always a pleasant experience and lived up to Cracker Barrel high standards. It has changed. We aren't sure if management has changed but assuming so with the problems we've encountered. In February 2022, we ask to be seated with space between tables. We were,, then they out a six top right behind us and a couple beside us that couldn't quit coughing. We hurriedly ate and left. Very inconvenient and rude.
We had a semi-pleasant lunch there on Oct 14,2022 with an excellent server, but friendliness of other staff is lacking. Today we want to stop and eat lunch on our way back South. I called to check the daily special. The person I talked to in the store was Kurt and sorely inconvenienced by my call. She was obviously double tasking. Came back to the phone and reported there was no Monday special. We knew that was wrong so we called the Lees Summit MO Cracker Barrel and got a friendly person that reported the Monday special is Meatloaf. She did so quickly and efficiently. We will stop at Lees Summit MO today. I then called the Liberty MO Cracker Barrel back and received the same unfriendly person I got the first time. I told her they do have a Monday special and told her it was meatloaf. She then hung up on me! Totally uncalled for!
Bottom line, Liberty needs to clean house on attitude and friendliness. Cracker Barrel used to set the bar high. We are hoping it still does. Our restaurant culture has it's challenges right now but hoping this one meets them and comes back on top.
Normally I like this restaurant. Today after being seated we waited over 15 minutes and no one took a drink order or food order and never once acknowledged us. We ate across the street and a wonderful place.
Got there about 4:15, was quickly seated. Waitress was polite and efficient. Food arrived in 5 to 10 minutes, we'll prepared, hot and tasty, what I have had before. Excellent choice for a country meal!
I was in cracker barrel this afternoon and while the food was good as usual my husband and I didn't receive all of our food and our waitress didn't refill drinks or check to see about our satisfaction with our food or get the rest of it she finally came by and put our check on the table and just said there and left I was very upset and didn't say anything because I was so mad and didn't want to give the manager a bad day by saying something ugly
Placed phone order, simple order, got home part of order missing. 10 minute in Florida heat! Angry, called store to let them know I was not pleased. The food was for my sick husband. The manager was taking orders and so I spoke with him about the missing part of the order. As I was not coming back he said he would make it up to us the next time, I told him I would never come back and told how ridiculous this situation was and hung up the phone. Then my husband sat down to eat and there was no cornbread or onions as was ordered. Now I HAVE to go back. AGAIN I had to call to tell him I was coming for the missing part of my order. When I got there the cashier called for the order. A few seconds later the manager himself appeared with a to go bag telling me all he did to make it right. I would have been satisfied with the missing items, but He went above and beyond. So now anger is being replaced by something else and the need to apologize. So I did. He was very kind and I left with tears as to his efforts to fix it! That's one of the traits of a real man and it shows the training he received was not wasted. Thank you Manager of the Daytona Beach store. You deserve a raise. He fixed what should have never been screwed up. Kitchen staff member whoever you are: You have one job, one job, get it right the first time, that's excellent work ethics, strive for that!
Manager: it is a hard job dealing with the public but apparently nobody told you. You rock!
Ordered food from Cracker Barrel on boat ways in fort Myers too go and the turnip greens tasted like it was 3 days old and dry. I always thought that was was my go to place BUT not anymore
Upper Management. VP and DM are all greedy and unprofessional. The company strives for negative culture.
If I want grilled catfish I go to Cracker Barrel. But unfortunately, not anymore. They took it off the menu. The other fish they offer is trout, so I decided to get it. Boy, was I disappointed. It was oily and tasted like old fish. I will never order it again, that is if I ever go again. But, it will be a while to get over this terrible meal.
I ordered veg soup it had no veg it got cold while I waited for a spoon then was told sorry they're all dirty then I ordered a bake potato with butter was charged for a loaded bake potato on the spoon subject I went up to server station to get a spoon was told they'd bring it to my table 10 min later I had to ask again and was told they were all dirty! Why bring me soup with no veg or spoon!
They don't have turkey sausage anymore and want to charge me more for chicken sausage is plain sick. I won't return to Cracker Barrel!
My husband and I ate at the Cracker Barrel in Concord, near Concord Mills today ( N C). Waited 15 minutes for someone to take our order, then it took 1 1/4 hrs to get our food. Food was delicious. Waitress worked herself crazy taking orders, bringing food out and also cleaning off tables. Obviously very short staffed. It was mentioned that both the cooks took their break at the same time. Have never waited this long for food anywhere.
I am so sad. My favorite on the road restaurant choice will no longer be Crackle Barrel. The removal of the fried catfish dinner from the menu is a real shame. They fried catfish better than any restaurant. Their recipe for pinto beans has changed in a horrible way. It looked and tasted like they added ketchup to them, not southern. All of this added to the fact that service is slow to non-existent service from ordering, food arrival, refills of drink, any needs such as sauces, take out boxes check to be able to leave, takes for ever or has to be run down in person from the back.
This is not just a one time experience it has been happened for over a couple of years. If they can not do a good job then it would be better for them to close all together. For me I will not be returning.
Been a customer since the RESTUARANT started with tasty pancakes and large biscuits.
Now the pancakes are tough and not good with very small non flaky biscuits like rolls.
The portion sizes small and not worth the price.
Very disappointed. No longer a customer.
I remember time where Cracker Barrel name stood for something apparently that is not true anymore we ordered a large family dinner only half of it showed up they refused to make it right so what am I supposed to do only feed half our family never again shame on you Cracker Barrel
The food we had on 7-13-22 was bland, no taste, mushy, and had an old grease taste.
We have never had this happen before, if it continues, that Cracker Barrel will have to close.
The server we had was friendly and helpful. These days eating out is so expensive, and bad food makes it even worse. I have already thrown my receipt away, it was for $63.58 on 7-14-22. The meals were, CB Sampler Plate, Catfish Plate, Grilled Chicken Salad, kids chicken tenders with mac/cheese.
Cracker Barrel's new menu is a real disappointment. Gone are several of the previous menu items, turkey sausage is now chicken sausage, with an up charge of $1.00 per link. Gone is the eggs in a basket menu offering. Service has slowed to almost no service at all in the three locations I visit. Well…. Good by and best of luck.
Went to the local Cracker Barrel today and ordered the French toast. It was fast service but I knew why when I got the food. It was barely cooked. I'm not sure how you can screw up French toast but they did. Also had to wait for a table abs when we were finally seated there were many empty tables but no one to bust them, like everywhere else they are short staffed. Will not go back.
