I've lost two covers to the same problem. The fabric wears through at the spots where it contacts the bow eye, the windshield frame corners, and the cleat hardware along the gunwale. You don't notice it happening until one day you see sunlight coming through a thin spot and by then the damage is done. With a boat this old the hardware has some rough edges that I've filed down over the years but they still create friction points against any cover fabric.

The 1200 HD is holding up at every one of those contact areas after a full season of use. I check them regularly because I'm paranoid about it at this point and so far no thinning, no abrasion marks, nothing wearing through. The 1200 denier material is thicker than anything I've put on this boat before. I also taped a few of the sharper cleat edges with marine vinyl tape as extra insurance. Between that and the fabric quality I think this cover is going to outlast the ones that came before it combined.

We share a tandem garage with my mother in law's Buick and the clearance between the two vehicles is about fourteen inches on a good day. She has a habit of opening her door without looking and I've already had one ding touched up on the passenger side of the Aviator that I'm fairly certain came from her door handle. I can't prove it and I'm not going to start that conversation. The seven layer platinum cover absorbs the contact and the fleece lining means nothing is going to press through and scratch my pant. She actually asked me why I cover the car inside the garage and I told her it's for dust. It is also for dust. But mostly it's for the door thing.

No Garage, No Problem
April 4, 2026

I'm on the third floor of an apartment building in Atlanta with an assigned spot in the open lot behind the building. No garage, no carport, no tree cover which is actually a blessing and a curse. Nothing drips on my car but it's also fully exposed to rain from October through May which is basically one continuous drizzle with occasional breaks. The Platinum cover handles the rain without letting anything through. I've left it on for three day stretches during heavy storms and the car is completely dry underneath every time. My lease doesn't allow any kind of canopy or structure in the lot so this is the next best thing and honestly it works just as well.

Saves time on our rides
April 3, 2026

We ride our ATVs pretty much whenever the weather allows and the whole point of the cover is that i don't have to do anything before heading out. Pull it off and the CFORCE is clean and ready, no wiping down the seat, no dust on the handlebars, no pollen sitting in every crevice. Before i had this cover i was spending ten minutes cleaning it off before every ride which sounds minor but adds up fast when you're just trying to get out the door on a saturday morning. Basic tier is plenty for my situation, the CFMoto lives in the shed so it's not dealing with hardcore weather. Does exactly what i need it to do without overthinking it.

Glastron Cover
April 2, 2026

Was specifically worried about the raised seating on the Glastron before ordering, called and asked about it and was told the cover accounts for that profile. Skeptical but ordered anyway. They were right. Goes over the bolsters cleanly without looking like it's straining anywhere, and the bow area fits down close to the hull the way it should. No weird tenting, no spots where it's pulling away from the body. Pulled it off after a rainy week at the dock and everything underneath was dry including the seat cushions which are usually the first thing to show water intrusion. Good fit on a boat that isn't the easiest shape to cover.

I straight up went with the WeatherFit Basic because I didn't want to spend a lot. My Ram truck has 138,000 miles on it and gets used hard. Towing the camper, hauling mulch, sitting at job sites in the weather. It's not a show truck and I wasn't looking to treat it like one. I just wanted something to keep the worst of the elements off it when it's parked at the house for more than a day or two. The Basic does that without making me feel like I overspent on a truck that owes me nothing at this point. The fabric handles rain fine and keeps the morning dew and bird droppings off the hood which were my main annoyences.

Threw it on the Outback the day it arrived, figured i'd figure it out as i went. Front tag tells you which end is which, everything else is pretty self explanatory. Cover fits the roofline well including over the roof rails which i was specifically wondering about. Straps cinch down easy and the whole thing feels secure once it's on. Coming off is even faster than putting it on. For a daily driver that i'm covering and uncovering every single morning and evening the ease of use actually matters a lot. This one doesn't make it a chore.

Learned my lesson on last bike
April 1, 2026

Had an older R1 before this R3 and watched the rubber on the grips and tires go chalky and the plastic fairings fade out over a couple of summers parked outside without a cover. Wasn't going to let that happen again. The platinum weatherfit has solid UV blocking and it shows, the fairings on this bike still have the same depth of color they had when i bought it, grips feel normal, no cracking starting at the edges of any of the rubber trim. A sport bike like the R3 has a lot of exposed plastic and it's not cheap to replace fairings if the sun gets to them. This cover is way less expensive than any of that. Been using it about eight months, zero degradation so far.

From Untouchable to Comfortable
April 1, 2026

The black leather interior in my Mustang turns into a griddle from about May through September. I'm not exaggerating when I say I've burned the back of my legs getting in after it sat in a parking lot for a few hours. I started carrying a towel to sit on which felt a little ridiculous in a sports car.

The Solar-X cover was a BIG help. The reflective fabric blocks enough heat so that when I pull the cover off after work the steering wheel is warm instead of untouchable and the seats don't require a cool down period before I can sit.

My commute home used to start with five minutes of blasting the AC with the doors open. But now I just get in and start driving.

A coworker watched me put the cover on one afternoon and asked if it actually works. I told her to touch my steering wheel at 5pm versus hers. She didn't take the bait.

First thing i did when i opened the box was feel the fabric and it wasn't what i expected at a this price point. It's dense, tightly woven, doesn't have that loose papery feel that cheaper covers have where you can kind of see light through the weave if you hold it up. Been on the 3 series through a pretty wet stretch and nothing has come through. Ran my hand underneath after a heavy overnight rain and the car was completely dry, not even damp along the roofline where water tends to collect. The weave quality is clearly what's doing the work there. For a 2012 that i'm trying to keep in good shape without dumping money into a garage situation, this cover is punching above its price.

Small detail but the fuel tank access is one of those features I didn't know I needed until I had it. We keep the Outlander at the cabin in northern Ohio and when it's covered for the week between visits I used to have to pull the whole cover off just to top off the tank before heading out on the trails. Now I just unzip the fuel access panel, fill it up, zip it closed, and pull the cover off when I'm actually ready to ride. Saves me a step and keeps the cover on until the last possible minute which matters during bug season when the mosquitoes will find any exposed surface within seconds. The 7 layers of the Platinum fabric handle the weather up there well and the cover fits over the racks and bumper guards without any issues.

I ride My Road Star on weekend trips a few times a year, usually two or three nights at a time. The bike sits in whatever hotel lot I end up at overnight and I never felt great about leaving it exposed. Not just theft concerns but the morning dew and whatever falls out of the sky while I'm sleeping.

I started packing the WeatherFit Platinum cover in my saddlebag and now I cover the bike every night at the hotel. It folds down smaller than you'd expect for a seven layer cover. A guy at a Holiday Inn in Branson last fall walked past while I was covering it and asked if I was worried about someone stealing it. I told him no, I'm worried about bird droppings. He laughed but I was serious.

The cover comes off in the morning and the bike is dry and clean and ready to go. It's worth the thirty seconds it adds to my evening routine on the road.

No More Paw Prints or Scratches
March 30, 2026

Our neighbor has three outdoor cats and every single one of them treats my E-Pace like a lounge chair. I'd come out every morning to find paw prints across the hood and roof, sometimes with little scratch marks from them jumping up. Tried everything short of putting a fence around the car. My sister suggested a cover which felt obvious in hindsight. The Platinum goes on quick enough that it's become part of my evening routine. Park, cover, done. Haven't cleaned a single paw print off the paint in two months. The fleece lining is soft enough that even if one of them walks across the covered car I'm not worried about anything pressing through and marking the finish. Problem solved without having an awkward conversation with the neighbor about her cats.

Dustin, the neighbor's cats situation is one we hear quite often, and honestly the 'park, cover, done' evening routine you've settled into is exactly what the WeatherFit Platinum is built for. Glad the fleece lining is giving you that extra peace of mind even on the days the cats don't get the memo. Thanks for sharing!

This is about the fit and nothing else because the fit is the reason I'm writing this. I've owned my Cobalt for over fifteen years and in that time I've tried four different covers from three different companies. Every single one of them treated my boat like a rough approximation. Too long in the back, too tight across the beam, bunching around the bow like a gathered curtain. One of them didn't even account for the swim platform and just sort of hung off the stern like an afterthought. The 1200 HD actually follows the contour of the hull. The shock cord pulls it snug around the bottom edge and there are no weird gaps or excess fabric anywhere. When I stepped back after the first install and looked at it I said out loud to myself that's how a cover is supposed to fit.

Thank you, Fred! Fifteen years with a Cobalt and four covers in, that kind of feedback means a lot. The fitment is exactly what the 1200 HD is designed to deliver, and it sounds like it finally did. We appreciate you sharing the comparison!

The Softest Cover I've Ever Used
March 30, 2026

The fleece lining is why I picked the WF Platinum cove rover everything else. My Bronco II has the original two tone paint, white over medium cabernet, and it's in way too good of shape to risk putting a rough fabric against it. I've seen what cheap covers do to older paint! My neighbor had one on his classic "Highboy" truck that left micro scratches all over the hood that you could see in direct sunlight. I wasn't going to let that happen to mine. The fleece on this cover is genuinely soft. I ran my hand across the inside before the first install and it felt like a blanket, not a car cover. One month in and not a single mark on the paint.

Thank you, Jerry! Protecting original two-tone paint on a Bronco II is serious business, and that is exactly what the fleece lining is designed for. Soft on the paint, tough on the outside. One month in with no marks is the result we aim for. We appreciate you sharing!

12-Year Warranty Sold Me
March 29, 2026

Honestly I bought this cover because of the warranty. Twelve years! I've never seen that on a boat cover before. Most of the covers I've owned barely lasted three seasons before the seams started going or the fabric broke down from UV exposure. My Triton is twenty years old and I plan to fish out of it for another twenty so I needed something that wasn't going to fall apart on me every couple years. I've had the 1200 HD for about four months now and the material shows no signs of wear at all. The stitching is tight, the straps are holding strong, and the fabric still feels like it did out of the box. Ask me again in year eleven how its holding up.

Thank you, Erick! The 12-year warranty exists because we stand behind the materials and construction, and it sounds like four months in the 1200 HD is already making the case. Here's to another twenty years on the water with the Triton. We will check back in year eleven!

A Strap System That Actually Holds
March 29, 2026

I'd like to talk about the strap system b/c it's the reason I bought this cover over the other options. My boat sits on the trailer in the side yard and I've gone through two covers in the last six years that both had the same problem... the straps were an afterthought. I lost one cover entirely on a windy night in March sometime last year. I walked outside the next morning and it was in my neighbor's yard three houses down tangled in his kids' swing set... what a joke.

The straps on the ShoreFit 1200 are double stitched directly into the cover, not attached with some flimsy loop. The quick release buckles are thicker and stronger and I can feel the difference when I cinch them down. There's an OEM tightness to the strapping system that my old covers never seemed to be able to replicate. Last month we had some big windy storms that brought in 50mph winds. The next morning I thought surely the cover would've moved or loosened, or worse, but it was exactly where I put and not even a single buckle was out of place. I stood there for a second kind of impressed and then went back inside and finished my coffee. That's the experience I was looking for when I spent the money on this thing.

Thank you, Dennis! Finding a cover in the neighbor's yard three houses down is exactly the kind of experience the ShoreFit strap system is built to prevent. Double-stitched, heavy buckles, OEM tightness through 50mph winds and not a buckle out of place. That is the bar we set. We appreciate you sharing!

I picked up my Crestliner pontoon boat used about five years ago from a marina sale in Wisconsin. Needed some work when I got it but the bones were solid and the price was right. I've since replaced the carpet, redone the railing, put new gauges in the console, and had the motor rebuilt. Basically everything except the pontoons themselves. People at the dock think its newer than it is which I take as a compliment to the work.

The reason I went with the ShoreFit 1200 HD is because we trailer the boat back and forth to the lake every other weekend from about April to October. Our lake spot is roughly an hour and fifteen minutes from the house, and it's almost all highway. My previous cover would start loosening up around mile thirty no matter how tight I strapped it. I'd pull over, retighten everything, get back on the road, and by the time I got to the lake it looked like the cover was trying to escape again. One time a corner came loose on I-94 and was flapping so hard the fabric tore and scraped along the deck. Left a mark on my brand new carpet that I am still annoyed about.

The 1200 HD stays put. Period. The integrated strap system with the quick release buckles is a game changer for trailering. I cinch everything down before I leave and it looks exactly the same when I arrive. I went with the grey color which matches the trailer and I think the whole setup looks pretty sharp rolling down the highway. My wife takes photos of it in the driveway and posts them on Facebook which is either flattering or embarrassing depending on how you look at it.

Thank you, William! Five years of work into that Crestliner and people at the dock think it's newer than it is. That says it all. A cover flapping loose on I-94 and tearing brand new carpet is a painful lesson, and we're glad the 1200 HD put an end to that. Cinch it down and arrive with it exactly where you left it. As for your wife posting photos on Facebook, we'll take it as a compliment!

My R1T lives in the driveway and I'll admit I'm pretty particular about it... probably too particular. After I check sports scores, I check the weather app before bed and if there's rain coming I would go out and move it under the carport where my wife usually parks, which meant moving her somewhat new car. She put up with that routine for about three months before telling me to just buy a cover and stop rearranging the driveway at 10pm. Fair point.

The Platinum fabric has made me a much easier person to live with apparently. We had a week straight of storms in early March and I left the cover on the entire time, pulling it off once to run errands. It's completely dry underneath every time and the inner lining feels so great. There's not even moisture around the charge port area, which was my biggest concern since the R1T has that front trunk storage which is where I keep my camera gear. The fleece lining is gentle on the Rivian's Blue paint which scratches if you look at it wrong. I spent fourteen hundred dollars on a ceramic coating last year and the cover is basically insurance on that investment. My detailer said the coating is holding up better than most of his clients at the three month mark and he thinks the cover could be the secret sauce. The elastic hems fit well around the front and rear even with the R1T's unique shape. No complaints from me or my wife, which is the more important metric.

Thank you, Donny! Rearranging the driveway at 10pm before a storm is a perfectly reasonable system until your wife puts an end to it. A week of storms, completely dry underneath every time, no moisture near the charge port, and your detailer calling the cover the secret sauce on a $1,400 ceramic coating. Hard to argue with that. No complaints from you or your wife is the best possible outcome!

Pecan Trees vs. Platinum Cover
March 27, 2026

We use our Promaster as a mobile workshop for our locksmith business and we park it at the house every night. The beautiful neighborhood we moved into last year has these massive pecan trees all along the street and nuts drop from the constantly until late November. I came out one morning and found a small dent the roof from one and that was honestly enough for me. I wasn't going to let another oversized pecan ruin my day.

I decided to go with the WeatherFit Platinum fabric because it has 7 layers... if it can protect from hail then I knew it would also for pecans for hell. I've used the cover for a while now and not a single new mark on my mobile workshop's roof. I will say folding it back up neatly is something I've given up on. I just bunch it up and put it in the cargo area behind the tool shelves. It's not elegant but it's functional.

Thank you, Lola! A pecan dent on the roof is a uniquely Texas problem and the Platinum fabric is more than up to the challenge. Seven layers built for hail will handle a pecan tree no problem.
