I had a problem with my AC not cooling enough and they said I have a leak. The only thing they did was to refill the refrigerant after 3 times coming and going while they had to replace the part and it costs me thousands to replace the system. In another incident they even didn't bother to come and take a look and inspect the pipes! I purchased home warranty to have peace of mind not to go through hell! I canceled and they did not refund the last month since it was passed 3 days from the payment day! Not reliable at all!
My friend had issue with them for their AC and they had months of going back and forth for the service they supposed to get!
I wasn't happy with their service at all and do not even give them a star!
I was online trying to read about this company, what they cover, cost, and all the things that you want to find out when you choose a H W company. It was not 3 minutes of my online reading when CHW called me. Apparently, if you ask questions about what is covered, or not and try to find out more on your possible purchase that is BTW a CONTRACT, they get beyond upset. BUT, if you dare say you are getting this information for another {spouse or partner} to review with you later in the day, the SAME day, they literally HANG UP! We have tried to deal with this company several times, and each time it is worse than dealing with a car salesman trying to meet the end of year quota. They do NOT want to talk to you, or explain anything, they just demand the high pitch sale inside of 3-5 minutes. It is obvious then, if they behave this badly when you are a potential customer, there is NO WAY we would ever trust them to be reliable OR show any type of professional courtesy when you actually needed them as their customer. Therefore, I suppose we can thank the rude dude that hung up while I was in mid sentence, you just saved us likely headaches and wasting money, especially since your one of the HIGHEST home warranty companies out there.
CHOICE HOME WARRANTY IS THE WORST! I have had this warranty over a year and had my first claim yesterday at 2pm. It's now 29 hours later and we still don't have a plumber so can't run any water. When we call they say they are working diligently on it but have done nothing. They are rude then hang up on you. I've been paying a year for a service they don't honor. I want this fixed. I have a senior and a child in my home and they have done nothing. DO NOT USE CHOICE WARRENTY THEY ARE SCAMMERS!
I regret that I waited several months to write this review. I had purchased a policy from "Choice" because I had just moved into my condo and wanted to have all bases covered if the inspector missed something. In fact I had a problem with the hot water in the kitchen/laundry area. They sent a technicain/plumber who said I needed a new hot water heater and told them. THEY REFUSED TO INSTALL ONE. Then, several months later, as I was opening the clothes dryer, the handle came part way off in my hand. They sent a technician associated with Sears appliance repair. He said the dryer needed a new door. Choice refused to repair it. They kept saying that the dryer had been abused, despite the fact that the technician they sent said that it was clean and well-maintained. Then they told me that the dryer door handle was not covered. I pointed out that: (1) without the handle I could not open it easily and that when I stood in front of it and said "Open Sesame", nothing happened; and (2) in the promotional emails they began sending me to encourage me to renew the policy, it clearly stated that for clothes dryers ALL PARTS ARE COVERED. I escalated the complaint repeatedly. FInally a manager offered me $200---- not for the repair but as a "Good WIll Gesture". Needless to say, I had to buy a new dryer within a few months. This company is a sham! THey took my money for a year's coverage as well as two co-pays for technicians and never did a thing. RUN the other way as fast as your feet will carry you!
My hot water heater broke and they spent six months hemming and hawing, trying to "find" a technician to fix it. They came out one time, but didn't fix it, just discovered it needed to be replaced. Then nobody came out. Spent hours on the phone with them and they promised to fix it. They did not fix it during the warranty period. They promised that because I submitted the claim during the warranty period they would still fix it. The day after the warranty expired they said that they wouldn't fix it because the warranty had expired. They are very dishonest
THEY CAN SEND A TECHNICIAN TO FIX YOUR PROBLEM, BUT IF THAT TECHNICIAN MAKES THE PROBLEM WORST, SUCH AS THE UNIT WILL NO LONGER TURN ON AFTER THEY WORK ON IT. CHOICE WILL NOT REPAIR OR REPLACE THE UNIT.

I called Choice HW on Tuesday night, after leaking water by my downstairs neighbors. The Plumbing Company came out on Wednesday, and said the water heater was broken. They notified Choice HW and said the storage unit needed to be replaced. They denied me because they don't cover storage tanks. Huh? What's the point a having a home warranty company anyway? REALLY BAD SERVICE! DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH CHOICE HOME WARRANTY!
Choice is terrible. Over six weeks now and they can't even line up a simple re-key. All we get is ads from them for add on services. Wouldn't use them again if it was free. Avoid this company.
I've waited more than a week to get my appliances serviced. No call, no email, no communication at all. AHS, was a lot better. I guess you get what you pay for. I'm guessing my next step is to hire my own repairman and try to get reimbursed... This isn't why I bought their insurance...
My water heater went out in one of my properties. My tenant moved out 9/30 but reported seeing water before they left. I advised them to continue moving and I will fix the issue after they leave, to avoid anyone being in the way as they moved. As soon as they left, I called Choice Home Warranty and made a claim, but it was immediately denied in less than 24 hours. Since the house was vacant when the plumber that they contracted arrived, my water heater was not covered by Choice Home Warranty due to the property being unoccupied. I tried to dispute this decision but couldn't get anyone to call me back. I was consistently told that my situation was escalated and that someone would call me back same day and then 24 hours. The "no callbacks" were a major inconvenience as I am having a new tenant move in 10/15. This happened twice before I decided to cancel my policy as it didn't make sense to pay for a policy with no coverage being rendered.
My husband believes that home warranties are frauds, and I was hoping to convince him since I believed all our properties could benefit from a warranty. However, this was a complete let down and I will never do business with Choice again!
I purchased an annual agreement at the time of buying a new home. I tried putting in 2 claims and both times it took weeks to get an appt scheduled and BOTH times the technician didn't show and I had to work to reschedule. After finally getting someone out, Choice denied both claims (the technicians told me they are the worst warranty company they've seen for covering items).
After having such a terrible experience they have SPAMMED me by emailing, calling, texting multiple times a day for weeks. I asked to get put on the do not call list and continued receiving calls. Then I got AUTOCHARGED to renew my contract monthly. There is a link in the email they sent ONLY DAY BEFORE charging me to change my "monthly subscription" that I didn't agree to but when I try to login it says my annual contract is over and I can't login and that I need to call a number to cancel the subscription I didn't even sign up for.
Absolutely dishonest and slimy.
This is by far the worst company that I have ever dealt with. I received a very unprofessional and unhelpful call from Brittney (a case manager) for a claim that I submitted for my broken appliance. They sent an email saying good news we will cover the fees, click here to approve the amount. ONLY 5% of the retail price. Then when we're on the phone "Brittney" puts me on hold for about 15 minutes and comes back with "the best we can do is 10%"... CHW is running a scam! If your AC or something expensive breaks good luck because you will most likely get pennies. If you ever see a good review about CHW then it's a paid affiliate earning commissions by sending new customers but don't fall for the false claims.
The company is denying our claim for something that the technician never even said was wrong with our air conditioning! We have a written estimate from the technician on what is wrong but the company keeps claiming that something else is wrong to get out of paying! This is absolutely ridiculous and will be ending in a lawsuit filed against the company for fraud and misrepresentation! We called and let them know that what they are claiming is not what is wrong with our unit and they want us to wait until Wednesday of next week to speak with someone about it. From what I understand this company will give you the runaround many times and then once you are totally exhausted you will give up and they do not have to pay. Certainly not a good way to do business. Our problem with our AC is clearly covered in their warranty but they will not do anything about it. We own several properties and will never ever ever ever buy from choice Home warranty ever again as it is not worth the paper it is written on. They claim they only deny 5% of claims! There is no way that that is true! Beware!

I am wise enough to understand there is no such thing as free lunch. I paid premium as per the plan requirements but when it came to Choice to deliver services, they make excuses
Technicians they assign are too lazy or know the game where they say its easier to replace than fix- Choice gets involved and either will deny the claim with some excuse or tell the customer to bear the cost with some excuse... 3 months into the plan, got tired of their excuses on not to fix and issue and cancelled the contract. I am fighting now with my bank to dispute.
These guys are not worth it... they will not touch a claim unless its making them money... just that simple
If choice was as good at selling their contracts as it as a fixing the repairs, they would be an awesome company! However this is not the case. AC not working, set an appointment, repair man does not show up. Call choice, he comes the next day. I get note that the part he needs to replace is not covered. Make sure you look at the fine details in the agreement! Condenser is not covered? Sorry, but the one thing that breaks down from normal wear is the condenser! So, I have to pay the repair man for a part that should be covered. 1940. 00! Plus the 85.00 fee. Over 2000. 00! AC worked for about 2 weeks, and broke again. Let me guess, they won't pay for the a part this time as well. I will not be using Choice in the future. I will simply go to a rep business in the future.
Terrible company. Take your money for years and deny your claim. Leave you holding the bag. Will always find an excuse not to pay.
If you call 2 times on the same subject, you WILL get 2 completely different answers. I was given misinformation from them that caused them to deny me of over $800 for reimbursement for my pool pump (which is covered) and even though they know it's their fault, they refuse to reimburse any of it. They have no service providers for pool/spa so definitely don't waste your money on that. Their plumbers are either incompetent or just no call/no show you. That cost me another $1000+ for a leak that should've been covered. I had to call over 2 dozen times and some of the reps are extremely and unbelievably rude and unprofessional. This is not my first home or my first home warranty plan. This has been a year I regret and I wish I could have a do over in home warranty choice. Should be called "Bad Choice Home Warranty".
Choice home warranty charged me $1400 + for a 2 year plan in 2021.in August '22 I sell my house and the only want to refund $157 citing that there is proration and I used over $600 on claims. By the way every claim I made I had to fight with the claims person for them to cover. Not worth time or money. Use reputable service technicians. Some of their service technicians for air conditioning were horrendous. I wound up calling my own to get a problem fixed.
After months and months of going back and forth the technician was unable to fix the stove. I am on the phone hours at a time trying to get hold of some one for resolution and they keep playing games and they have neither repaired nor replace my stove as of today 8/31/2022.
This is now a fire hazard because they have CUT the gas line to the burner last time they came to try to replace and now this is impaired stove and broken and I am stuck now
Called for service to repair garage door opener 8-18-22. No one showed up or called even after talking to repair company about adjusting time frame for doing the work. There choice of companies is poor. Reschedule appointment with different company, they also failed to show up at their schedule time. I call that repair company and they stated they did speak to Choice home Warranty representative but never got a request from Choice home War. To due the repair. I again waited for some one to show up at the
Time that Choice home War. Said they schedule the appointment. When talking to Choice Home War. It is someone else failure to respond. I have now place a third request for repair and to speak to a Manage, but nothing has happened. Please look for a better Company for Home Warrantee program.
Old Republic is who I should have used even though they are a little higher in cost.
Answer: 2-10 is more expensive but of very good value. Good people. Our plumber has recommended Old Republic. I do not know anything about them though.
Answer: A definite scam. Will not pay, use any excuse to not pay. Takes days to acknowledge a service company is being assigned. Service personnel will not work for them as they do not get paid.
Answer: PRICE AND THE GOOD REPUTATION OF GEORGR FOREMEN… Pls don't blame him. He couldn't know they were crooked when he signed up!
