I have a issue with how they speak down to their customers. I have a broken dishwasher and they offered me 240.00 to replace it. They said they give the wholesale cost amount. No installation you have to cover that and the rest of the cost of the product. I'm disgusted by them. Paying a monthly fee then the 85.00 for someone to come out to diagnose it. They can't replace my dishwasher? I will never use them ever again. I feel like I am being scammed put of money. Don't sign up with them. You will regret it. They also have class action lawsuits against them. Steer clear!
Worst home warranty company I've ever dealt with. First you'll have an issue having them find you somebody competent. Then they might send out back to back people because they're not knowledgeable enough to handle your needs. Especially if you're in a higher end home. Their customer service is horrible, and their chat system is even more terrible. I feel like every time I had to pay them a deductible it was a waste of time and then I had to hire somebody outside of their service. Not recommended at all. Subpar service.
The worst, they deny everything and you have to fight like hell to get it fixed! When it says covered they deny because they claim normal wear and tear.
Of you are thinking of paying this company for home insurance, don't. I've been paying my monthly fee for a year now. I've initiated my first claim with them, and the result has been subpar. They wrote that they were "replacing" my dryer and offered me 335 dollars for a NEW dryer only redeemable in the form of a Lowe's gift card. I contested the amount and got "sorry, your unit is ineligible for a greater amount". The cheapest dryer at Lowe's is 538 dollars. So, effectively I will be negative 200 plus dollars. This company is a sham.
Sylvanna Green-Hazel was my "case manager". Don't make the same mistake I did. RUN. I lost $1000's to this company and have nothing but poor service, lack of communication, not a single issue resolved, not to mention without water for 3 weeks, to show. This company a SCAM.
Choice home warranty does not deliver on what they promise. They will do EVERYTHING in their power to weasel out of a way to adhere to their own promises in their contract. The reviews on their website are phony and not from real consumers! AND on top of this, they have atrocious customer service. Much better to buy the warranty from whatever retailer sold the appliance. Beware!
CHW is the worst home warranty service in my opinion. Call to claim department and open a claim on 12/16/22. Problem is leaking under kitchen sink. Customer service told me that it would be 24 hr. Contact. Nobody contact, call again, was told 24-48 hr. Nobody contact. Call again and again regarding the issue.
The claim was escalated, but again nobody contact and two elderly person can't use the kitchen sink. Call to supervisor, was advised hire a technician to fix it and submit the invoice for reimbursement. On 12/23 I hired plumber and he fixed the same day. I sent the invoice and diagnosis to claim department for
Reimbursement. The claim was denied and gave reason leaking due to improper installation. The sink drain was good operation for over 20 years before it developed the leak. It was not recently installed, but starting leaking after 20 years of operation. I have CHW Insurance from 2018 and was small claims only 2 times for 5 years.

On Dec 24, Christmas Eve, during the 2022 freeze(!) I woke up to 39 degrees in my house, and I filed a claim online (as CHW doesn't respond to calls). About 30 min later a generic customer support message was posted in my chat, but without any info as to when or if a technician would be dispatched. I tried to find out if anyone will be coming that day, I informed them that my family was sick and couldn't be in the freezing temperature, and that my house will be affected by the freezing temp is my heater was not repaired (this happened to me 2 years prior due to ERCOT - and one of the kitchen pipes had already frozen). I received no response for over 4 hours - they state that they will have a technician scheduled within 4 hours. Since they were not responding, I reached out to my local businesses, found someone who could come, and they fixed the heater. I informed CHW to close the claim and that I will request reimbursement, and they responded - immediately - that they will not reimburse me. I uploaded the receipt, and they declined it. I filed a BBB complaint and they stated that they were not in breach of contract so they will not pay - the contract states they will answer within 4 hours - which they didn't. I declined their response as incorrect - they did breach their contract.
This is the third claim they do not resolve for me in 4 months. This company is simply predatory - they will take your money and provide no service, under the disguise of some of their "terms".
First it takes them a long time to get a technician out, then it seems they always find a way for your issue not to be covered. I'm left with a hole in my drywall from the plumber that J now have to pay to get fixed.
They do not fix or replace anything they have the worst customer service one you sign up. Please do not use this company

I bought this home warrant in advance for $2100 over a year ago and never used it. My Water Heater rusted out on Dec 3. It was 17 years old and needed replacement. I submitted a claim and was told it would that a month to fix. After a week with no hot water I called and they told me I could replace it myself and they would reimburse me. I bought the Water Heater at Home Depot, the same make as my old one but cheaper because it was a 40 gallon instead of 50. I didn't ask for labor or hoses or a pan, just the water heater that was around $500. I submitted there paper work with pictures. My claim was denied within 5 minutes. These guys DON'T PAY! It's a scam! Don't buy in.
If I could give this company a 0 rating I would. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR YOUR MONEY ON THIS COMPANY. When purchasing my house, I thought I did my research but obviously, I did not. I was told that if I paid for 3 years of service up front then I would receive 6 months free. Cool. I set up a payment plan for the next three months. My dishwasher broke, I paid $75 for a man to come and tell me that I needed a new one. Choice gave me $246 to get a new one. Cost me a heck of a lot more to get a new one, but something is anything. Over the next year, nothing happened and I continued to receive emails saying how I was a loyal customer and thank you for being us, blah blah blah. Then my washing machine broke and I called only to find out that I had been canceled. My credit card had been stolen and one of their payments had bounced without me realizing it. They "sent" an email. Funny, I got all of your other emails, why not this one? So the first guy I spoke to, Joseph operator 3375, told me I was getting a full refund in the next 48 hours. Nothing. The second lady told me $750 after going over all of the numbers with me. After three more weeks, I get a check in the mail for 256.50. WHY? I called back and I was told that I paid for 13 weeks of this insurance. Hmmmmm. So my payment bounced after three months but you are charging me for 10 more? I gave this company $1113.75 for 3 months of service, one service call, and 250 for a dishwasher. Then the "boss" basically hung up on me because she can't give me number breakdowns and told me I couldn't be transferred to customer service. What a "boss". This company is horrible.
I am a Realtor and have dealt with many home warranties. This company is one of the worst. They try to get out of paying on any claim and especially the more expensive ones. I will not recommend this company to any of my clients moving forward. They only have a rating of 1.06/5 with the BBB and they are not accredited. They also have had a class action suit against them.
After six months of DELAY tactics by CHOICE, my oven is still not fixed. The company offered $200 (and sent a check) but they admit the oven must be replaced! The policy limit Amount is $3000 which is less than what it will cost to replace the oven. Their DIRTY TACTIC has been to not provide a legitimate website that I can PROPERLY file the arbitration claim papers & exhibits even though the Arbitration Board requires; fortunately, so for. The Arbitration Board has overruled and it's HEARING MY CASE, so I should know something within the next month. What a "huge rip off" by this company. They do everything they can to not pay their claims and ARE USEING VERY DIRTY TACTICS Against this 80 year old man who is trying to live off Social Security. I LOVE HEAVY WEIGHT CHAMPION GEORGE FOREMAN, but sure wish he wouldn't help advertise this company. I think it's a shame and he should probably find something else more reliable to appetite….
Home Owners Beware! I actually shopped around for a home warranty company- I did my research, and despite coming across multiple negative reviews, I selected Choice Home Warranty. After the obligatory waiting period, I mistakenly believed that we were in the clear in case of a breakdown. Lo and behold, on the 31st day, I walked into the garage and the water heater was leaking. I did my due diligence, followed the prescribed process, and was DENIED. Of course, I appealed, and was again DENIED. I was informed that the type of leak involved would happen over a period of time, and not happen suddenly. Our out of pocket expenses to replace the water heater totaled to almost 3k- AND I was stuck in a contract for a year! Now that my contract is over, I have moved to a different company- Choice Home Warranty has the audacity to have their sales people call no less that 2x/week- After I have asked to be removed from their list. We have been home owners for most of our lives- I maintain our equipment using the prescribed maintenance schedule. When I enter a contract, I am truthful. Choice is VERY fast to sell contracts and promise individualized service, but you have to jump through hoops for large repairs or replacements- then you are at the mercy of someone who has never seen your property. You would be better off with another company, or socking away your hard earned cash in an interest bearing account for a rainy day fund (unless you enjoy managers implying you are a liar).
I have been without a refrigerator for 14 days. Two different service men came and pronounced it dead.
7 Days later... no word from Choice Home warranty about a new fridge.
Run... do not hire this company. Awful runaround
Choice Home Warranty is one of these companies that take your money and never provides service. First my toilet developed a hairline crack, when they sent a repairman ( 3 months later) he said it was a preexisting condition, a toilet for God's sake! Then I had a attic fan making a lot of noise (no one ever showed up in over 4 months), my first problem with them was my A/C not working, I told them I had COPD, made no difference, hod to call someone and pay for repair myself.
The reason I say read the contract for example, a A/C unit, if it has any rust on it they will not cover (in the contract). So I have an A/C unit that has been outside for over 20 years, what do I do it is going to have rust.
SO I AM SAYING PLEASE READ CONTRACT ASAP CHOICE HOME WARRANTY IS LIKE ALL THE REST THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY
Any one Asked location if tell you lehi utah, thats not true head office present in india, kolkata.see other review in your country people to undarstand why this is scam
I took the home warranty with Choice Homes based on a recommendation from a friend they were great while collecting the funds and onboarding etc. Now fast forward had two claims and both were denied and I had to contest them both.
1) Water Pressure Regulator: My water pressure was low and it was not reaching the upstairs and the showers were not putting out enough pressure. The technician comes and says the pressure regulator has gone bad. The pressure regulator is covered under the policy but got denied stating the regulator is outside the house near the foundation. Well per the code the city makes the builders install the pressure regulator outside the home before the water can get into the house. After a lot of correspondence they approved it.
2) Electric fixture came loose: I have an electric light fixture next to a attic access and every time you open and close the attic stairs the vibrations make the light fixture shake... eventually after 8 years this light fixture came loose. Now Choice Home Warranty dined the claim after collecting $65 stating the fixture was not installed properly. Hello the home passed 3 city inspections and one paid inspection before I closed on the home. The home was built in 2014... it is very frustrating to deal with this company.
Overall I think they are running a scam.
Don't ever buy. It is a fraud. You will regret buying it. If bought and cancel later, make sure your credit card block choice home warranty from charging it in the future. Because they will keep charging to your card.
Answer: 2-10 is more expensive but of very good value. Good people. Our plumber has recommended Old Republic. I do not know anything about them though.
Answer: A definite scam. Will not pay, use any excuse to not pay. Takes days to acknowledge a service company is being assigned. Service personnel will not work for them as they do not get paid.
Answer: PRICE AND THE GOOD REPUTATION OF GEORGR FOREMEN… Pls don't blame him. He couldn't know they were crooked when he signed up!
