Steer clear of this company. They refuse to fix our dishwasher & instead are offering to pay not even half of what it would cost to replace. They state they will only pay for what it costs them to replace but refuse to order it for us or replace it and instead will give us the money and make us replace. $249 for a $650 dishwasher, seriously. You also cannot talk to a manager or even get in contact with them. Aren't willing to help in any way. Definitely pick a different home warranty.
Had to wait for several days for an electrician to show up after the upstairs went dark. Kept rescheduling while we stumbled around. Finally came, and immediately said the entire house was wired wrong, after taking two faceplates off! Cut the ground wire to the metal junction box, saying it wasn't needed. Could not wait to collect the $85 and get out of the house. Made him test the outlets and by accident he discovered a bad wire on an outlet. Fast forward to two months later. I have a leaky spigot on the back of the house. Part of plumbing, right? Nope! They said they are not responsible. Nor do they perform HVAC maintenance, which I guess is my fault for not reading the fine print. Bottom line, I am getting out of this miserable contract and find my own helpers. These guys should be ashamed of themselves for what they promise and then what they shirk. Also, even after I signed up last year, they continue to bombard me with offers to sign up! They are so GREEDY! Wish I had never heard of this outfit.
Blower motor on my A/C stopped working. I have a top of the line Trane system with variable speed blower. Cost to replace blower was $1153. We filed a claim, but instead of paying to replace the blower motor CHW tried to force me to replace the air handler with a builders grade (low efficiency furnace and non-variable speed blower). But thats not all, "customization" costs are not covered! So I was asked to pay $1270 in out of pocket costs to DOWNGRADE my A/C system from top of the line to builder grade. It will be cheaper for me to not use the warranty company at all and replace the blower out of pocket. We talked to a "Case manager" and they lied and said the AC vendor was the one forcing us to replace the air handler. But we had already talked to the AC vendor, they were the ones that said it didn't make sense to downgrade the air handler because it was more cost effective to replace the blower. CHW will do anything to get out of paying a legitimate claim.
Very poor service and communication, authorization given for coverage was declined on the next day without any reason, not trustworthy at all, NOT recommended to use them
This company never does what they promise. Washer broke 3 wk. Approved tech out can't get parts. They say there are parts looking for a different tech. They lie, all tell different information. Don't purchase you'll be sorry
Choice Home Warranty is a complete failure as a home warranty company. Poor customer support, they apologize a lot but never get the job done. Since January I've had two of their plumbers assigned to replace a whirlpool tub switch. A $20 part available on Amazon and a 30 minute install, but their first plumber from GI Tech kept lying about the part order status and blamed the owner for over six weeks. GI Tech is rated F by the BBB with many reviews describing exactly what I am going through. The second plumber MRE Enterprises was a no show and the phone number was not even from the company Choice Home Warranty did not care that the phone number was for the Federal Courthouse in Alabama, not a plumber company. They gave me an email to the technician who never responded and failed to show up. So three months since I called Choice Home Warranty for the support I paid for, I still have not had my whirlpool tub switch replaced.
As a consumer, I am compelled to share my experience with Choice Home Warranty in the hopes that others will not have to endure the same level of disappointment, frustration, and sheer incompetence that I have.
From the get-go, Choice Home Warranty proved to be a total waste of money, time, and energy. Not only was their service abysmal, but their courtesy was equally appalling. I am not one to exaggerate, but I must say that I am 110% dissatisfied with my experience with them.
The scheduling process for simple services was a nightmare. Their inability to secure appointments for me was exasperating, to say the least. To make matters worse, their serviceman did not show up on at least three separate occasions, despite confirming the appointments beforehand. The lack of professionalism displayed by their serviceman was astounding, as he did not even have the decency to call and inform me that he would not be showing up.
Choice Home Warranty seems to have mastered the art of blaming customers for their own deficiencies. Throughout my ordeal with them, I found their customer service to be atrocious. The representatives I spoke to were not only rude and argumentative, but they also spoke in roundabout ways and raised their voices to try and prove a point.
The point, however, is crystal clear: Choice Home Warranty is not working. Their business practices are subpar at best, and their inability to provide even basic customer service is appalling. If you are considering a home warranty, I implore you to look elsewhere.
In summary, I cannot stress enough how much of a waste my experience with Choice Home Warranty has been. Save yourself the headache and invest your hard-earned money in a company that values your time and satisfaction.
Last time the over-range microwave, this time the spa control switch. I paid extra for coverage for the hot tub (spa). The switch that runs the jets now refuses to turn off. It's a push button in a control panel and you can see it's slightly depressed, won't pop back up. Called Choice and they sent a tech. Nice fellow, said a new control panel was needed, and sent the report to Choice. Choice denied it, saying they don't cover "multi media centers". Now I would not call a simple push button control panel from pre-smart home days a "multi media center" (no wifi, no Alexa, etc). That's stretching it trying to find a reason to deny a claim! They didn't even offer anything toward our purchase of a new panel. Pick another company for your home warranty!
Stay away from Choice Home Warranty. I purchased a warranty from them and hardly ever used the services for about 10 months. And then the one time I experienced a plumbing leak, they denied my claim as it looked to them like it was physical damage. A drainage pipe in my master bathroom on the second floor of my home experienced a sudden slow leak. A plumber was sent to my home. He discovered one of my drainage pipes deep behind the cabinet under the sink had a crack in it. When he submitted to Choice Home Warranty for repair, they denied it due to physical damage. I appealed it and was told by the case manager that Choice Home Warranty does NOT cover pipes if there is a crack discovered. If this company offers a plumbing warranty for wear and tear but does not cover cracks--well, I think you know where I am going with this; how can anyone have peace of mind that their plumbing is covered -- so long as no cracks are discovered.
If I could leave a zero star I would, they were all we cover anything that can happen before the sale - I was sold. We had an A/C issue, filed a claim on line they were fast to get a service company out. Paid the $65, he said it was low on refrigerant and he would like to a leak test, made sense. By the way the leak test was not covered another $150. Turns out we had a leak in the evaporator coil, okay can you fix it? Yes, but guess what - it had a manufactory's warranty with about 8 months left, we do not cover anything that still has a warranty. You would think fine, they do not pay for the party or the labor to replace, but would cover the refrigerant, but you would be wrong - they cover NOTHING, it is now a $1,400 repair. The service tech tells me that CHOICE HOME WARRANTY does this all the time, in fact they deny more than they approve. To me this just means he is using them as a source of additional income - they deny the claim and he still gets the work paid for by the home owner - great system for the two of them. Please call around read real reviews not just the ones on the website and the ones paid for. This organization is not where you want to put your trust. P.S. If you want to cancel and get your money back, there is a $50 service charge and they will prorate your refund. How is that for customer service?
Please add this review: The WORST COMPANY to work with! They are LIARS! Horrible Customer Service. Their sales people make fake and false promises during their Sales pitch. Once you sign the contract the sales guy will talk back rudely to you as if you don't matter to them what so ever. They are not willing to help you in any way. I made a big mistake signing up with them. I don't think they will return my money now that I have already paid them.
Hello,
I am a customer of a home warranty program called Choice Home warranty. I pay a monthly premium To them 70$, have an 85$ deductible, and they either fix or replace the home system that fails. On 02/04/2023 my oven started beep and throw an error code because of what I later found out from the technician that a button relay was stuck which would keep the oven from turning off. Obviously a dangerous situation. I called and put the claim in on 2/5/23. The technician was scheduled for 2/11/23. After a short visit he searched for the parts needed to correct the error code and make the oven safe again but the parts were unavailable. He said that they would have a resolution for me in 7-10 business days. Fair enough.
I called after 10 business days and they telephone rep said he had no information and had to reach out to the technician. This was Friday 2/24/23. The rep was said it would take another 2 business days to get an response. I said this was unexceptionable as I had a copy of the invoice and I was there when he sent it to them. He has obviously been paid so they knew about it. He said this is how this company does business and I have to just wait although his tone and response was rude and dismissive. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he said sure "I will send you an email in 24-48 hours with his information. Felt like he was a scam at this point. Hung up and called back.
The next guy said they would have a response in 2 hours and did not even a call me back. I also used the online portal as well and they just dismissed me because I had been let down by the previous reps but their records showed that I was working with someone: not the case. I am now it's been 2 month with out my oven that is used to feed my family and still have no resolution. They took my money and are not keeping up with their end bargain. Please help if you can or possibly refer me to a regulating body that can help, because as of todays date 03/29/2023., I am still with a resolution from this company. Heaven forbid my AC go out in the summer time. We might actually die if we were relying on them.
Just got YELLED at by a service manager. He CLAIMED their service was the best out there. I told him he couldn't beat the company I am currently with then I hung up. He called right back yelling the truth hurts. Said they cover EVERYTHING. I TOLD HIM 2 years ago when I had choice home they turned down my claim for a roof leak which was suppose to be covered. This company truly is Horrible
I was lied to from the start. Then charged 43.75 for 12 months totaling $525! Six months into the policy, I called for service and was told to WAIT SIX MONTHS MORE! Then I was told the equipment needing repair was not covered BUT THE LIAR who signed me up, Adrian Saunders, told me the equipment WAS COVERED! This company is a SH*T TRAP. DO NOT USE THIS LYING AND DECEPTIVE BUNCH OF THIEVES.
Choice home Warranty is the worst home warranty company you can use don't pay on anything and it takes weeks for them to find someone if they do it at all to fix anything
This company is a scam. They don't provide any real service - it's just a facade. The technicians they "hire" are bottom of the barrel, may not show up, and YOU are responsible for paying them! In addition, once that technician submits the diagnosis, you don't hear back from Choice Home Warranty on any updates. I wish I never purchased this plan as it was nothing but a headache of time wasted. There is a reason their policies state no legal action can be brought against them - because they have no intent of reimbursing or covering any repairs! Stay away!
They are one of the worst home warranties we've used. They denied our water faucet repair stating that the hose bib is "located outside of the main confines of the home." The hose bib was there when the builder built the house. Clearly it is inside the foundation. When I requested for a refund, CHW kept $50 for cancelation fee and two months when we only had one month of service. Don't sign up with Choice Home Warranty. They are horrible.
From the start was disappointed with Choice because techs where always two weeks out. Microwave went out tech said that he wasn't sure if Choice would fix or replace due to age. Choice decided to replace microwave. First my Choice was taken away where to buy new microwave due to Lowes card being mailed. When card did not arrive after 30 days I called customer service which is the worse. Answers I received in order stated, call back in a week, give it one more week, we mailed the card out it is coming and we will mail another card in 30 day. I do not believe Choice has any intention of mailing card out. I did find out Arizona GA is suing Choic for fraud because service not rendered and after policy was canceled money continued to be withdrawn from customer account. Do no use Choice Home Warranty.

This insurance is a robbery, it seems incredible but it is true, it never covers the guarantees of things. If you ask to speak to a manager, they are never available and you have to make an appointment. I bought the larger plan and canceled it because it's a robbery. If something breaks, you have to wait days and days for a technician to show up, it's disrespectful I do not recommend it. My name is Miguel Zapata in case you want to contact me I am available maybe now a manager appears in this way they are scammers
Answer: 2-10 is more expensive but of very good value. Good people. Our plumber has recommended Old Republic. I do not know anything about them though.
Answer: A definite scam. Will not pay, use any excuse to not pay. Takes days to acknowledge a service company is being assigned. Service personnel will not work for them as they do not get paid.
Answer: PRICE AND THE GOOD REPUTATION OF GEORGR FOREMEN… Pls don't blame him. He couldn't know they were crooked when he signed up!
