I had cancelled my Chegg account over a year ago only to find out they kept on billing me and taking money out of my account. When I gave them my cancelled date and asked for a refund they told me to go F**k myself so I had to file a lawsuit to get back the funds they illegally stole from my account.
1. I'm doing training right now and noticed that the advice given on This site is in direct contradiction to other available sources on at least one question.
2. Also, when I needed guidance on a question, I first did my research and posted it along with the question for which guidance was sought. In each instance, when my question was answered, the "expert," who copied/pasted my research into their response, told me that my conclusion was correct. No furtherance of rationale or details was given. I might as well have walked into my bedroom and said, "Mirror mirror on the wall…"
I'm not an expert on much, and unfortunately, my mirror does not speak to me. It's disconcerting that my efforts could be posted and used to contribute to something that might yield an incorrect conclusion because of my lack of expertise.
I paid for the service for the month and will continue to use it as one of the resources, but I will not renew it or recommend it.
I cancelled my Chegg account in January of 2022 after 1 month of service. When I went to log on to cancel the subscription, the site told me I had never made any purchases and there was no subscription to purchase. On February 8th, 2022, I saw a new pending charge and called Chegg customer service. The representative at the time was helpful and communicated that she also didn't see a live subscription and that she would cancel the charge. By February 20th, I still hadn't received a refund and I re-contacted Chegg where I was told the subscription was cancelled on February 8th and non-refundable. The site in general was just ok but this experience has been infuriating over $17.07. Be careful putting a credit card on Chegg.
Please do not use this service - they take your money. Do not confirm your email so when you want to log in you can't and it won't allow you unless you have an email. Customer service get you to try logging into AppleID even when you tell them you don't have it and make up excuses then stop communicating. I lost $28. I used paypal and lodged a dispute for a refund.
Scammer-trap tactics! Don't rest credit cards on the profile. From my mobile I logged in to retrieve some saved citations, (1) They have pop-ups that you will have to use the 3-day free trial to gain access to the "free service" and can only (2) cancel from a computer and (3) they will hit your card if you slip. (4) I tried removing credit cards, but you (5) cannot remove without customer service assistance. I was working 12-14 hours piggyback shifts in the field with (6) no access to a computer. I had to stop everything to borrow an iPad, (7) couldn't get it to cancel and remember the only way you can remove the card is to call or text customer service which feels like the same person using different automated names. (8) They beat me to be able to stop life and chase them to cancel a service that I don't need or never used. Once I got them to remove my credit cards they tell me, (9) you can never put that card back on your Chegg profile again and (10) you will lose immediate access to the service although they just (11) took your money for a month of access. Trap pop-ups, No refund, no access, sounds like irregular and unethical business tactics to me. I'm contacting my bank and BBB and hoping for a class action lawsuit.
If you are looking into this site is obviously to save money on already expensive books. I bought a book from here and even paid expedited shipping and I'm still waiting. I have contacted them and they tell me I can cancel or request refund until I receive book. The book doesn't show as shipped yet and still no update as to when I'll get it. I keep receiving messages (messages more than once) of delays because of weather. I would not want anyone trying to save to have their monies tied up until or if they even refund me. Agent said even when I get book it could be 21 days or more to get refund. After calling multiple time I have finally been able to get refunded at least my $$$ for the expedited shipping. Which again puzzles me because that refund can be processed but the book refund would take 21 days?
This is a scam, you will get nothing out of it but a bunch of crap. The company is out of India. Once you pay, anything that you need is charged extra and the answers are ridiculous, like 3rd grade writing. I got my money back because I went through paypal and explained what they did to me and I'm sure they have heard it before. I had my money back that day, that normally never happens in disputes. Do not give any money to these LOSERS, YOU WILL NOT GET IT BACK. NOTHING ON THIS SITE IS USEFUL
This textbook site will charge you even when you return the books. I had to FIGHT LIKE HELL with their customer service because they charged me the full price of the textbook even after I returned with additional extention fees. THANKFULLY I kept my return receipt from UPSP with tracking to prove. Make sure you document everything you do with Chegg as they are very dishonest. After 5 times contacting them, they kept saying they never received it, but when I produced the tracking number, they all the sudden found it in their warehouse and it was a "mistake," There needs to be some kind of consumer protection with this type of business. They really need to be shut down.
Been banned multiple times from the site for 48 hours with just regular browsing. A quick google search shows many others with the same issue. Chat support was rude. Perhaps one day they'll realize that browsers typically use tabs, and this isn't 2001.
Many of the answers that are posted are wrong as well. I've encountered numerous problems that have multiple choice, and they have 3 different answers from 3 different people. All upvoted.
I would like to document the terrible experience I had with Chegg. In September of 2022, I subscribed to Chegg. I subscribed to the service in hopes that it would help me with schoolwork. Chegg was decently helpful but I stopped using it very soon after, about 3 weeks after subscribing. Just recently now in Jan 2023, I noticed that Chegg has been charging my card for a service I haven't been using. I understand that it's Chegg's policy for no refunds but that is completely an unfair policy. If someone can't cancel their subscription for (x,y,z) reasons, then Chegg is just collecting a free cheque from its customer which is completely unfair and even predatory. It's unfortunate that a company that is publicly listed on a stock exchange would have such a strict policy on services (especially some that aren't being used) and it's absurdly funny that a listed company would make it so difficult to refund $104.80...so a company that has a Market Cap of 2.59 billion dollars...which is $2,590,000,000... can't refund $104.80...insane.
Terrible customer service when it comes to account issues.
Generally, homework help is very limited, with very little to almost none verification on the credibility of solutions and problem help.
They charge a ridiculous $20 a month for the "higher end" service, which is even then, very limited. The "lower end" at $15 is also terrible, with little to no more that the free version offers.
0/10 would not recommend.
Told them I wanted refund and cancel my subscription but instead they cancelled my subscription and didnt refund even though the charge was made on 29th dec for my jan subscription... very unhelpful poeple
When i post any question in chegg, the man who is called by expert copy my question and search on internet, and he paste it as answer. He even did not read what is my question about and what he provide copied from internet. They even like there own answer with there three to four accounts. So I have found Chegg company as Fraud and Scam.
I have no record of subscribing to their service, yet my credit card was billed for three months. Their chat or stopped responding when I asked to cancel my service. Pretty sure this company is a scam. One star is being generous
I would never recommend this platform to anyone. First I realized some experts copied answers from the internet. And then I requested a refund for the study pack order just the following day less than 24 hours because I didn't use their service after I realized I could actually get the same answers online myself. After pleading with them and explained everything to them concerning why I needed my money back they still refused to refund claiming I'm ineligible. They kept referring me to their terms of service and I still don't understand why I'm ineligible. I just wasted more than 200.00 cedis for nothing. Thank you chegg for your lack of empathy.
Please if you don't want to regret so much like I do right now, keep your money and never subscribe to chegg.
I subscribed to Chegg services for one month only and thought if they were good, then I would continue, but they are useless; in the beginning, they gave some solutions which are not even close to my question. Then, after escalating, they came up with a somewhat immediate but not straightforward answer.
Moreover, they charged for the second month also; after connecting to the chat assistance, they said sorry they could not refund my money for the second month. And the chat guy sends me an extensive list of terms and conditions. Be careful while you are taking their service and lower your expectation about the solution they provide
I signed up for this service for one minute then realized they dont have what i need. Went right away to cancel- here the phenomenal customer scam service started by asking to contact them later as the charge is not posted yet- contacting second time now they decided i am not eligible for refund- i threatened to dispute and raise this to review website they start going back and forth as they have to engage advanced customer advocate and they never answered back. It is Scam dont ever get close
It's very rare that an expert answers your question, and even less likely that they have the answers to what you're looking for.
Just an attempt to take money while giving nothing.
Whoever wrote the answer just used my question and didn't answer it. AND they begged me to like it so that they can get a small benefit from it. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!
Answer: Half real half scam wil work for a day or 2 then lock you out
Answer: The monthly money is for an additional service. You can opt out of it at the time of your order. Supposedly. Check other reviews. Many of them say they were still charged after canceling the service. My best suggestion is to stay away from Chegg if at all possible.
