The company has established a strong reputation for its user-friendly platform and competitive pricing, with many customers praising the efficiency of the booking process and the helpfulness of customer service representatives. However, some concerns have been raised regarding communication issues, particularly related to flight changes and refunds, leading to frustration among users. While the majority of feedback highlights a positive experience, instances of delayed support and difficulties in correcting booking errors suggest areas for improvement. Overall, the company is viewed as a reliable option for budget-conscious travelers, yet it must enhance its customer service responsiveness.

We had a very bad experience recently purchasing air ticket from this site. They sell low fair ticket with lots of hidden fees.
1. Connecting Shuttle flights (Silver Airways) charged baggage fees even though the ticket says 2 Check-in bags are allowed.
2. Extremely long lay overs (in our case 28 hrs for the last two flights alone). Ended up traveling by bus (paid $180).
3. Seats for international flights need to be purchased. There is no option to select free seats. (Paid over $200 for seats purchase)
4. Customer service is nothing but profit oriented and expect to be on HOLD for more than an hour. Basically they will be reckless in re-booking flights due to cancelled flights by the airline.
They don't care about how long you need to wait at the airport for connection.
Totally deceptive business!
STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE.
This was my first time using cheapoair for my trip from the US to several European countries. I can assure you that I'll never use this service again. It ended up costing me an arm and a leg, including $50 to change a typographical error in a passenger's name. It's best to go directly through each airline.
Overcharged compared with direct airlines fares. I paid USD 1111. 48 to airlines and USD 340 to ChepOAir. I could have save USD 340 had I booked it directly with the airlines. I verified by logging into airline I planned to travel. I opted call ChepOair since it provides the discounts with a promo code with my employer code. I found out that they overcharged me instead. And be ready to hold for an hour at least.
My flight was cancelled by the airline. First of all cheapoair never informed me about this, so i was at the airport and had to rebook on the spot. Then I am supposed to get the money back. The customer support is appalling. They don't have the right information. It's all over the place. I still need to receive back 366 USD. Sometimes when you speak to them they say I was never charged. Then they apologize after, but I just want my money back. It's a criminal organisation, stealing and lying.
1 hour hold time to talk to the rep, ridiculous customer service and I am still I the US just don't want to try to imagine if something goes wrong out of the county and I have to sit on hold for hours trying to resolve the issue, stay away book thru Expedia
NEVER EVER TRUST THIS WEBSITE. THEY ARE A BIG TIME SCAMMER.
First, They would not let you cancel or change your ticket NOT EVEN IN 24 HOURS OF BOOKING. I paid for their extra premium package which on their website says' FREE CANCELLATION WITHIN 24 HOURS OF BOOKING", but still i got charged the cancellation fees which was more than $100. I tried so hard to chase them for the amount i got charged for! All they would do is provide you LAME reasons or transfer you over and over to somebody else.
Do not use they will beat you down with no response and terrible wait times 2 hours to accomplish nothing. Placed on hold they never return. The poorest booking company I ever used run away from them.
I have used Cheapoair about 4-5 times this year so far. I was planning was planning to use this company for the other 3 trips I have planned this year. I will definitely be finding another company from now on. I will also tell everyone of my friends and co-workers who all travel a lot to never use your service again. As well as post on all of my social media sites, and my friends with YouTube channels to keep as much business away from your organization as possible. First of all your customer service department is terrible. I had to stay on hold not once, not twice, not three times, but four times for over an hour. Getting disconnected several times was rather annoying too. Your online system needs a major update as well. It changed not only my flight date but most of personal information as well. Computer errors is one thing but to not fix the errors that your system makes is another. I have never seen a company so poorly ran in all my 45 years. The charges were extremely unnecessary but after multiple phone calls, being on hold for many hours, being disconnected many times, live chat service being non responsive, even corporate supervisors not being able to resolve your failures as a company should have, I have decided otherwise. I have given up too much wasted time, effort and my hard earned money to ever spend another dime with you poor excuse for a company. I will be booking my next flights and my families flights with a more organized and efficient company. I would say thank you for your time but I feel that no thanks should ever being given to a company so poorly ran.
For a two-week vacation in Scotland, I had booked a rental car using a company called CHEAPOAIR (CheapOair.com). I used the same company to book the air travel via Aer Lingus. This complaint relates to the car rental, only.
The car was to be supplied by the car rental company Green Motion (www.greenmotionusa.com). The amount of $288.40 was paid on 04/05/2019 via credit card to CHEAPOAIR. On arrival at their Edinburgh airport counter on 05/08/2019, Green Motion refused to rent a car to me with the argument that I did not have a driver's license for at least two years as required by their conditions.
I have had a valid Virginia driver's license since 1985. In Virginia, drivers licences need to be renewed every 8 years (the old license becomes invalid and is kept by the VA Department of Motor Vehicles). My present driver's license states Iss REN 07/02/2018 meaning that it was re-newed on 07/02/2018. The Green Motion staff chose to interpret this information as saying that my driver's license was issued on that date. They then asked me to produce the previous license to show that I have had a driver's license for the required two year period. One possible solution to issue the rental car contract to my husband (whose driver's license was re-newed more than 2 years ago) was also turned down by the Green Motion staff with the argument that the car had not been ordered by my husband. I asked the Green Motion staff to cancel the business transaction and return the money, and they said they could not do that either.
I contacted CHEAPOAIR on 05/08/2019 to ask them to return my money. They said that this was a problem between me and the rental car company and that they could not help me.
To save our vacation, I rented a car from a reputable company at Edinburgh airport (SIXT). The car was more expensive, but no problems of any kind were encountered.
In summary, Green Motion has a requirement for the prior validity of the driver's license that may be easy to state but is often (12% of all cases) impossible to meet, at least for Virginia drivers (and likely for drivers from many other states, too). The company has not delivered any service to me. They should not be allowed to keep my money.
I booked flight tickets from India to the USA for my parents. One of my return flight had a change because of which I was asked to contact CheapOair to go over the alternatives. It has been over 5 weeks- the same discussion, same promises, and the results remain the same. Each time I am asked to wait for 2-3 business days and then no one updates me of the status. It has already been 5-6 times that I spoke to the representatives and they give me an alternative option, I ask them to confirm my alternative and they never confirm or reply back. I am so tired of contacting CheapOair again and again. And not to forget the long long wait for getting the call to one of the representative. I would never recommend CheapOair to anyone.
Decent price followed by an email from the airline telling me to pay for baggage.
The price ended up being more than the airlines original price. I tried to cancel w CheapO immediately and they told me I could for $50/ticket.
You can't see what tier ticket you are buying for an airline, so you end up with a ticket with no baggage and then a fee to change or cancel. Such crap
I booked a flight 9 MONTHS in advance for a hunting trip. I get a txt message at 4 am the other morning that says my flight has been changed by them due to a conflict. I have spent the last 4 days trying to contact someone about what the change is, how I can insure I will get to my destination on time, and how to make this right and I have spent a collective 3 hours on hold and have not got any email replies. I am now fighting for a refund with no luck. Garbage service, never use!
I booked a flight through this website and couldn't go through to their link to check-in early (of which there's a $4 charge to do so) and so I tried booking directly through the airline but it said the booking number didn't exist. I used their online chat option to have the issue resolved, which it thankfully quickly was. There was no apology or rationale as to why the booking/confirmation numbers were different than what I was originally given and after the matter was resolved there was a push to sell more flight-related services to me. The whole matter was very confusing and it was just lucky that I wanted to check-in online before I tried to check-in at the airport with the wrong booking number.
This is my second and last reservation with cheapo air. The first time I used them I did not get any savings whatsoever than if I had just gone directly through the airline. The second time I made a mistake by one day on my arrival time and tried to go back and contact them to see if I could change the date by one day, so I could make a cruise that I was trying to attempt. They wanted to charge me a $300 penalty fee plus whatever the difference in fare was. I ended up going directly to the airline itself and was able to resolve it. I tried to get a supervisor through CheapOair and it took about an hour to get that. They wasted my entire evening and did nothing for me. I will never use them again. A friend of mine correctly asked me: what did you expect using a company called CheapOair? Good point. Done.
GIFT CARDS ARE AN ACTUAL JOKE. DO NOT PURCHASE THEM. YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO USE THEM DUE TO BULL$#*! LOOPHOLES.
Tried to cxl fight got the same run around as everyone else. It's sad in this day and age that there are still companies that their primary purpose is to steal money for their customer to line their pockets. Another fine example of the loss art of empathy and compassion for your fellow man. And then they ask for you booking number, whey you ask why the response is so they can "address specific issue and resolve disputes" i must of missed something isn't that the reason i call in the first place. Pretty sure will never hear from them away, more great customer service.
I booked a flight 3 months ahead of time for 6 people. A month before the flight I realized that I had written one of the names on the flight incorrectly. For the flight leaving the US, I had no trouble getting the name corrected with another provider, but for the return flight I had bought our tickets through Cheapoair. I tried to get it corrected for three days. After spending many hours on the telephone (most of them on hold) I was told they could not correct it, and suggested I cancel this flight and get another. I will never book another flight through Cheapoair.
Pick a specific flight but got email confirmation of totally different flight. Called immediately to explain the glitch in their system. They were able to switch the flights and reversed any additional fees the next day! They responded to my issues in a timely fashion and apologized for any inconvenience it may have caused. Will use them again to book my flights!
I booked a hotel from them. When I got to the hotel it was full and the room they put me in was smoking. I called the agent to be told it was my fault I should have checked three days prior to make sure my room wasn't smoking. (since when) I was stuck at 10 pm with no hotel. 8 days later I am still trying to get my money back from the hotel part of my trip... once again on hold...
Answer: I would not use Cheapo under any circumstances. Look at the 698 (!) complaints at the Better Business Bureau website. They hide under the name Fareportal, which is the parent company.
Answer: Don't use them. Book through the airline. I paid to select my seats, then a week before my flight they put me and my companion in the middle seats in different rows!
Answer: Security may not be an issue but they can cheat you by hiding information you should know. I would suggest to not use them and their customer service personnel are also worst I have ever seen.
Answer: Provide the 8 digit booking number and what you need assistance with. Our apologies for the inconvenience
Answer: You can't and they will steal your money like what they did to me
Answer: Because they are scam, they just want to steal money from our pocket
