CheapOair Reviews Summary

The company has established a strong reputation for its user-friendly platform and competitive pricing, with many customers praising the efficiency of the booking process and the helpfulness of customer service representatives. However, some concerns have been raised regarding communication issues, particularly related to flight changes and refunds, leading to frustration among users. While the majority of feedback highlights a positive experience, instances of delayed support and difficulties in correcting booking errors suggest areas for improvement. Overall, the company is viewed as a reliable option for budget-conscious travelers, yet it must enhance its customer service responsiveness.

No follow through on cancelations and long hold times. Don't let the low cost sway you to book a flight through their online service.

I have used Cheapo several times for International flights and hotels, NEVER AGAIN! In Dec. 2018 I used them for a r/t to Madrid. So not only do they send me endless emails they also have all my personal information in particular my passport information.
Pay Attention Please! On July 9th 2019 I booked and paid for another international flight, the flight is not until March 10th 2020! Thirteen (13) days later I get an email stating that my flight information has changed and to examine all my information, I did this on the same day July 21st 2019, An agent from Cheapo named "Denver" stated that the airline, China Southern ( Whom I have spoken to) has voided my ticket, (They in fact have not) because I did not provide my entire middle name Lee, I always including the IRS use L. Cheapo however stated that my 981.81 will not be refunded but they would be nice and credit me 590.21! Therefore stealing 391.60 and Quote for an additonal 100.00 on the same Citi Visa Cheapo will send the airline ( another blatant fraudulent lie) a "Waiver" to add Lee to the L. I kid you not, but there is "No Guarantee" that China Southern will add the 2 E's. The airline rep. "Sophie" stated that the ticket is issued thru a company named (Ready for this!) A Las Vegas Nv. *******- WK Travel. So I am reporting not only Cheapo but Nevada Attorney Generals office and California. So people "Caveat Emptor". Don't use this site. And now I have to wait for a refund from Citi (4 to 8 weeks). I will now use Momondo from now on..

We booked a round trip from San Diego to Denver for $219. The flights were with Frontier from San Diego to Denver and with Spirit from Denver to San Diego.
We got the email with the booking confirmation and that the booking was only partially confirmed. Here is what they wrote: Your booking was partially confirmed. One of our team member is working with the Spirit Airlines directly to assist in accommodating your selection from Denver to San Diego. If you do not receive a confirmation e-mail within the next 8 hours, please call us back at...
A couple minutes later came an email from Spirit Airlines that the booking was confirmed so it seemed all good to go.
A day later I decided to check the flights with the booking confirmation number on the airlines web site direct. I wasn't able to find the confirmation number for the first flight with Frontier so I called cheapOair. It turned out that the flight with Frontier was not confirmed and they weren't able to book that flight. If I wanted that flight I would have to pay an extra $500 because they were not able to find one cheaper. I wasn't paying that much more so I asked him to check maybe a day later. Even with that I would have to pay over $200 extra. While on the phone with them I checked on the web and found a round trip for $197 booking with airlines direct so I asked him to cancel my booking which took a while to complete. I asked for a cancellation email but for some reason he did not want to send one. After I insisted to send one it took another couple minutes until he had that done.
Seems to me that cheapOair wanted to make some extra money.
My tip, do not book with them and if you do make sure you check if your flights are really booked.

I spent over 10 hours on the phone trying to solve a issue that should have took 15 minutes. I needed to add another name to my ticket. They were trying to charge me $100 to add the name and told me they would add it, if I would pay $50. I agreed. They had me over a barrel. Either pay the $50 or loose $450 for the ticket. Very uncalled for. I will never use Cheapoair again. I will also inform everyone I know, not to use their service either. Very unprofessional, lack of knowledge, and unfriendly. Worst experience with service in my life. I booked the service for my family believing I was making a good choice. Was I ever wrong. I will never make that mistake again, I promise.

We book our flight to Pairs, it was suppose to be from Portland to San Francisco to Paris. When we arrived at San Francisco we could not see our flight on the monitor, we called Cheapoair and was told to wait that flights Only check in 3 hours before. Two hours later no flight, we call the airline and found out flight was cancel, call Cheapoair and was told yes flight was cancel, and our itinerary on their website was not accurate. When we asked why we were told to wait they hang up. It's 30 to 45 minutes wait each time. We asked why we were able to fly first half our trip when second part was cancel, they said they rescheduled our flight 2 days later and that we need to wait 2 days in the airport. When I told them all the money we spent all our plans go to waste Cheapoair said that is not their problem and hung up. They said they sent email that flight has change, but when we call them, they said nothing change but we could buy flight insurance. Nothing they said or on their website is reliable. If you call customer service make sure your phone is charge because it's always half an hour wait or more.

I know its appealing to get the cheapest flights but beware that the 2nd part of the charges come later. I travel A LOT an this was the worst experience I've ever had. I was charged 6 times on my account instead of one full charge had I just booked through the airline itself. The customer service department sucks and I think that it is worth it to get proper help. I was not aware that I'd be charged all these extra fees to select seating, service fees etc. Plus the booking was messed up on top of that I had to reschedule the flights for another $400.

I bought flight tickets for a specific date and the website changed it without me knowing it, next thing I received an email with different dates.
Called they to change it to the dates that I needed the guy said it's a $350 difference so I told him are you kidding me, you guys changed my dates without me knowing it.
So I told him to cancel and than he said, sorry, you can't cancel it. OmG I got so angry, after 1 hour they canceled it and now they saying wait 14 days to get the money back.

Save yourself the trouble, but elsewhere.

On hold for 8 minutes so far just to cancel a reservation for a flight. Difficulty understanding the woman answering the phone (not her fault). CheapOAir should ensure that English-speaking agents you can understand are available for those of us calling from the USA. Still on hold after 11 minutes and counting while listening to the most disturbing music. 15 minutes and still holding! At 17 minutes, I will hang up and forget the whole thing. Do not use this service, ever!

I got the names of the travelers wrong on my booking. I tried to correct this less than 4 hours after and was told I either had to pat over $1000 to re-book or $225 to cancel. The agent was rude and the call took over 50 minutes to complete. Very frustrating experience that cost me $225. DO NOT USE CHEAPOAIR! They are total scam artists!

I have booked a ticket to Lebanon from Montreal. My transit destination was in Nice-France. In the airport in Montreal, they told me that I cannot travel because I should have a "Schengen Visa" to pass through Nice-France. When I booked the ticket, there is no mention to a "Schengen Visa" on the website nor in any links. I contacted cheapoair and the advisers were very rude to me. Instead of proposing solutions or solve the problem, they were not responsive at all. Moreover, they send me emails with some links to check if I need a "Schengen Visa" or not. The links did not work and they send me to an empty page "page not found".

Moreover, I tried to check if I need a "Schengen Visa" to pass through the airport in Nice-France to go to Lebanon. I checked the information on:

-The European Union website:
https://ec.europa.eu/home-affairs/sites/homeaffairs/files/annex_7b_atv-national_lists_en.pdf

-France Visas website:
https://france-visas.gouv.fr/en_US/web/france-visas/airport-transit-visa

-Schengen Visa Info:
https://www.schengenvisainfo.com/france-visa/airport-transit-visa/

And nothing is written that I should have a Schengen Visa.

And what made things worse is that the advisers told me that this is my problem and not their problem. Is it a good way to treat clients?

I am asking cheapoair to reimburse me the whole tickets.

Briefly, Cheapoair is one of the worst companies I have ever seen. Customer service is below zero. The advisers were not nice to me and they did not do any effort to help me or to solve the problem. I will never book with this fraud company and will never recommend it to anyone.

Why is it ok for CheapoAir to steal money from their customers? Prepaid in full for a rental car. No car was available on arrival. Station manager assured me Cheapo would provide immediate refund. Called Cheapo--they promised to call me back. They showed absolutely no interest in helping me. Cheapo never returned my calls, and never refunded my money. They charge for rental car, do not provide a car, and keep the money. What a scam they run!

Everyone on here is right about their pricing but their service is despicable too. On hold for 1.5 hours earlier today and 45 minutes just now. Both times they ended up saying they could solve the problem which was rescheduling because of a canceled flight. Never again will I use them

Terrible Service.
July 6, 2019

Searched for a flight for Tuesday, it was changed to Wednesday, called to get it fixed and they wanted to charge $155 per person to change it to the correct date. Never again. At least Expedia lets you cancel within 24 hours.

Never again

I wish I would have looked as this website before booking a flight through them. The price I saw was pretty good. I did not see the total price until after I paid and received the confirmation email. Imagine my horror when I saw how much I was charged. It was WAY more than the price on the website. I called the 800 number and was told they couldn't do anything after I explained to them what happened.

I purchased fight tickets from Canada to India, they will change your flights anytime(10-12hrs layover) especially if we are traveling with infants or kids or older people. They can't able to make long journey. Also cheopoair told us 2bags X23kg /head. At time of checking bags you are asked to pay for baggagess. Very upset, frustrating in this situation. Please avoid booking with them. Don't make your trips horrible!

I booked online flight package just few hours ago with CheapOAir for 3 adults. I picked specific dates for the trip. After I select the flight we wanted. Double checked the flight dates and airports with my wife to be sure, then paid for it. After a few mins. I received an email for our booking. Noticed that the flight return date was not the correct one I picked when I booked. Called customer service to correct the flight return date but of no help. They keep on insisting that I was the one who made the mistake. Options given were, to cancel the booking I have to pay $75.00 per person, and to change the flight return date to the correct one will cause us an additional $232.66 per person totally $698.00 for 3 people.

We do not have a choice but to pay the extra charges to correct the date of the return flight which we are very sure was not our fault. Why would we pick the wrong date?

I have gone through the reviews and there were several people complaining about the same thing that happened to us. Looks like CheapOAir has this MO to charge online customers more where they make the customers seem to make the mistake booking. The genius on their part was, there is no way to prove that they are being sneaky!

BE VERY CAREFUL WITH CHEAPOAIR! LOOKS REALLY LIKE SCAMMERS!

I highly do NOT recommend anyone to purchase a ticket through cheapoair even if the price is unbeatable as it's not worth if you need any customer service. The customer service staff lacks basic knowledge with agents from india that don't have a call back feature and wait times can exceed 2+ hours!

Very upsetting.
June 30, 2019

I booked a flight last night online, my boyfriend notice he was changed $800 extra. I checked my email for the confirmation, they booked me for another flight instead which was different flights, different price. I called them right away, they kept me on the phone for hours, they said $75 per person we had to pay for a mistake that was their fault, the girl on the phone was so disrespectful,
She kept saying it's impossible for this to happened and I made a mistake and calling me liar. This is so upsetting because they have really good prices but they are so unprofessional.
