HORRIBLE
November 13, 2023

I have been with care credit since 2017. I have always made payments on time as well as paid more than the min. Now my account is closed with 3 different reasons that was told to me. 1.The credit bureau denied me (When I did not apply) and closed my account which they stated was not true, I was told 3 different times I would received a letter with the reason and last that my credit score was low. What does my credit score has to do with an account I already have opened and paying on time each month. All I keep hearing is " I understand" HOW when you have not received a letter or anything!

Liars and Thieves
November 10, 2023

I can not wait until I finally have this thing paid off. It would be impossible to tell you everything that has happened with them over the years - but, I will do my best to give a synopsis.
1. Their website - designed to deceive. They have two types of balances - the 1 that is accruing interest, and the other that is interest free for 6 months if your purchase is over $200. When you make a payment, if you want your payment to go to the interest bearing balances, which I do - then you have to call them on the telephone (good luck getting through the automated system), and tell them verbally what you want done; otherwise your payment will go toward the non interest bearing amounts first - so they can continue to rack up interest on your other balances for as long as possible.
2. If you go to the tab for "Promotional Balances," it looks as though they are also showing you the interest bearing balances, but they are not. The amounts that you are seeing are not a summary of ALL interest bearing balances. I found that out the hard way.
3. In trying to get a straight answer about how much was still fully outstanding in interest bearing balances, I was told to check my jprevious statements. Interesting, considering the "activity" tab for your account summary will sometimes show the adjustments to interest bearing and non interest bearing balances. Sometimes.
4. Which brings me to the latest saga - if you want documentation that you've requested your payments to go toward one balance or another, forget it. For a while, I was using "messages" tab to try to get help. I guess they finally got tired of my calling them out on their "inconsistencies" because now they refuse to do anything, stating that they don't do this or that - when they have clearly done this or that in the past.

There's so many things that I could cite - but, the bottom line is that these are people who are deliberately and knowingly screwing other people over - working for these corporate blood suckers who are using them to do their dirty work. We all have to work. I get it - but, don't lie. Apologize - do something, but don't lie to me.

You may never be able to redeem your points. Site malfunctions often and then they cancel your points
I've had my card for 20 years. I finally went and cashed in my points for a $200 Home Depot Card.but it never arrived. I checked the site and my points were still there.so I decided to let them ride a little longer and next time call and cash out over the phone. I checked recently and I no longer had over 20,000 points.I only had 7,642. I called them and they tried to tell me I had only had my card for 5 years.what a joke. I asked that they reinstate my points and let me cash them out as a long time customer service.but of course.they refused. Shameful that they cancel your points without telling you or reminding you to cash out before they do it. I recommend that you get another card that has a 6 month pay off and never cancels points. Takes at least 3 tries to login and most of the time I had to pay as a "guest". Terrible company.

It's poor doing business with Care Credit paying on their website. I failed 3 time trying to pay them from my checking account that care credit have a problem with their webpage accepting my account number. They are getting rid of me for late payment for nothing! They failed... not me! Oh... try getting an agent on the phone is disaster! They avoid customer contact by phone by all those info BS they give on the phone! Finally I was able to get an agent to pay in full for the last time doing business with them ever. What a horrible experience with Care Credit!

Poor Business Practice
October 19, 2023

When I signed up for the card I was told I would receive a promotional GC of $100. I spent a lot of time trying to get this card and was given the run around by many people. Only to be told I missed the promotion by one day even though when I signed up I was told I would receive it.

Care credit rewards
October 18, 2023

Based on points, I was entitled to gift cards. Ordered a $25 one from Bath and Body Works.

Didn't realize it was en egift card until I called Care Credit customer service. So, it was emailed to me, and I inadvertently deleted it. Here's where the fun begins. Called to find out what happened, and was told that they'd reissue it, it'll take 24 hours. They also told me to be sure to check my junk and spam folders. No card, it's been days. Call AGAIN. Got someone in another country. She was HORRIBLE. She hung up on me as I was explaining my situation. Called a THIRD time. Got someone in another country. This guy FINALLY explained that I'd get my egift card, there's no penalty, and I'm all set. Had these idiots told me that in the first place, it would have been a LOT better, and smarter. Less aggravation. Would NEVER recommend Care Credit to anyone, in fact, I intend to write this review in Google and Yelp. There are better cards out there, with MUCH better customer service

CareCredit was helpful when I had an emergency vet bill. I went to pay off my remaining balance today and noticed they changed my credit limit from $2,500.00 to $250.00. I was told they sent me a letter which I have never received. Thank goodness I didn't have to rely on that credit line not knowing about the change. I went ahead and cancelled my card. Not worth having an unreliable credit line open that might mess up my credit score. Buyer beware. There are a lot of hidden rules with this card you have to hunt to find or just find out the hard way.

Worst credit card ever
October 14, 2023

Just be warned. I paid off every charge I made with them on time and before promotional dead line! I had it for several years. Then my credit score drops a bit because of an issue not related to them. So they cancel my card and I go to use it for my dog emergency and I can't. No letter or e-mail telling me this at all. Don't use Care Credit go another way if you can. I wish I could give them a zero!

Extortionist
October 12, 2023

I needed dental work and my husband wanted to finance it. Care Credit was recommended by a dentist and seemed a logical choice. The card was obtained and almost a year later I found a dentist that fit my needs and started the process. During this time my husband decided to go AWOL and file for divorce. No great loss I was tired of the abused anyway. I finished the work paid with Care Credit which is what we agreed upon and went about my business. Next I find out that he has made a complaint against me for credit card fraud saying I obtained the card without his knowledge or permission. He did this with a couple other cards we held jointly as well. Nothing new, just a nasty divorce trick to avoid paying a legit bill. But the fraud part troubled me so I contacted them and explained the situation and that the court would decide who was responsible,, that there had been no fraud. I also told them I wanted them to disassociate my name with any fraud investigation. I could not believe their response. They would not do anything until the bill was paid...WHAT? I told them that sounded an awful lot like extortion to me. I am taking action through every consumer action group I can as well as the Florida Atty. General. In my opinion this is the behavior of loan sharks and mobsters. And did I mention I intend to file suit against them. Oh hell no. I'm not taking it.

I opened a Care Credit account in 2020. I had surgery and was paying it back and have never been late. In September I had a dental emergency and used the card with deferred interest for a year. I wanted to know how that works since I noticed you could not separate payments for the two Care Credit accounts on line. One person told me that they could not allocate payments and another told me that when I make a payment that it would pay the first one of 313 and the 170 would go to the dental and to do it online. So last week I went on line to pay, and the website said that it did not go through try again, so I did and it again said it did not go through so I did it again and it said it did not go through. I called the automated and made a payment on the phone. Then I checked the account and saw that I had several payments processing and called and was told that it had to go through and that once they did they would send me a check for the over payment. I didn't want that much money taken out of my account so I put a stop payment with my bank. Today I took that stop payment off and called Care Credit/Synchrony bank to get a payment allocated and found out that my account is closed. I had never been late, all kinds of notes were in my account from the MANY times I spoke with their reps. The rep told me that it was because of the stop payment. I'm so frustrated. I didn't want to wait for them to mail me a check because the rep told me it takes a while. The closing of the account is automated so there is no reversing. Their website malfunctioned and now I'm penalized. I heard so many different stories on how to deal with my account and trying to make the payments on the two transactions from the reps. They are not consumer friendly and my credit will take a hit because of this situation. I'm so FRUSTRATED!

Do NOT use Care Credit
October 4, 2023

If I could give Care Credit ZERO stars I would because the process and Synchony Bank is certifiable TRASH. They don't give a crap about people, or long term customers. The whole freaking thing is a fraud. You'll find unauthorized charges, your credit amount can be changed on a whim. Overall, CareCredit SUCKS!

I wish I would have read the reviews. Because of these slimeballs, my credit has dropped, even though I have paid more than my balance each month AND have NEVER been late on a payment.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM CARE CREDIT.

Scam,
September 23, 2023

Paid dentist with card, not knowing interest was deferred. After two years of on time payments the interest was charged going back two years on full amount ($6500), I always paid a little more than min payment amount. Further, has two small purchased to vet of $350 and $400 with different deferred payment expiration dates, however you are cannot specify what charge you are paying when making a payment, so in reality even though these charges were years apart, you must pay entire balance on all charges from first and all charges to avoid interest. So, with total charges on card of $7250 made over two years, I was charged interest on entire amount when the deferred interest date past last month. I had a balance of $1905 and was hit with $2600 interest charge, morally bankrupt company, I'll never use this card ever again. Wish I could afford an attorney.

I received an email from Care Credit on 9/13 stating I had earned over 10,000 points as of Sept 7th and could log in to redeem the points. When I logged in, the points did not show up and customer service stated they expired the prior month. Why would they say they were available as of 9/7 if they had already expired. This is a large amount of points I earned by using their card, and they will NOT work with me even though their system sent me an email a week ago stating I could use them. All they said is I understand, sorry. With all of their horrible reviews, you would think they would be willing to work with customers to get their satisfaction scores increased.
