I have to say, I was perfectly content with Care Credit until today. I was going to pay off my monthly bill and looked at the amount they were telling me to pay each month and the total I still have left to pay off in the first year in order to not accrue interest. Since the numbers didn't look right to me, I decided to do some calculations to see what I actually would need to be paying each month so that by the end I don't end up getting the interest charges. Turns out I need to be paying $400 a month. No where on the bill did it say that I should pay that much at all. All numbers on the bill were in the $100 range, all less than $150. So no indication of what I actually needed to be paying to pay this off in a year. The only thing they advertised was the minimum payment so there was no way if I stuck to those payments, I could truly pay it off in a year. Thank goodness I was smart enough to question the numbers coming my way and could tell it didn't look right. If I just blindly trusted and paid off the amount that was actually written in my statements each month, I would have absolutely accrued major interest by the end. All I have to say is wow. I wonder how many people they scam like this every day and every year. Despicable.
I was promised by a customer service provider that they will honor my promotion for longer because I was doing a balance transfer. They received the check from my credit card company, took the money and still charged me almost $2000 in interest fees. I called trying to resolve the issue but they were supper rude and said that there's nothing they can do even though I was clearly told that they will remove the fees manually! I will never use rhis company again!
This care credit is absolutely bull$#*!. I don't recommend it. The customer service line is no help & flat out rude.
I paid off my previously-maxed balance to $0 and ten calendar days later needed to use the card again for an emergency with my geriatric cat. You would think that, as soon as my payment processes, like almost all credit cards, I would then have that payment amount (or close to it) available, right?
Wrong. It takes 7-10 business days to update your available credit after you make a payment.
Today, I have an emergency that I need to use my card for and have $0 available even though I paid it off almost two weeks ago.
If this were for clothes, I'd think it was pretty crappy and shady.
But people use this for healthcare for them, their loved ones or a pet. This is a terrible, inhumane policy and I hope no one or their pet dies because of it.
Don't ever apply for this credit card. They lend you the money and once the promotion ends they add their interest which is extremely high to the amount owed. You will have to pay more than what you borrowed and if you want to pay off the balance before they add that exuberant amount of money to your balance with another credit card, they won't accept it since they will only take money from your checking or savings account. What a rip off
I originally got this card for an emergency when my dog met a porcupine. Paid it off in 6 months with no interest. My wife used it a few times for our children's dental bills. Paid it off in time to avoid the high interest rate.
Haven't used it in a while and today we had dog vs. porcupine part 2. I was surprised and very happy to find the card was still open. $500 bill will be paid off in 6 months to avoid interest.
This card great. Thanks care credit.
I had a dental bill of 2,000 over two years and had 12 months to pay it off. I have no problem with them at all.
These folks are crooks and panning on folks who can't make large medical payments up front. Trust me don't use these folks
You know of all organizations a healthcare supportive resource should understand patients vulnerability and the overall hurdles that one has to jump. The fact you cannot talk to a person, online portals do not recognize your account numbers, surveys are promised but not delivered, and calls are disconnected. Seriously, I couldn't even find a place to email/share my comment so I am here.
Care Credit sent me statements in Spanish - I need them in English. They won't help me over the phone, and can't create an online account unless I select e-statements, which I do not want. I want them to correct their error, without me having to jump through hoops.
Joint application online for $4500 was not approved and website directed us to call *******927 to complete the application. Instead a $1500 account was opened by [phone] CSR Lana at that number before making either applicant aware. We were given the runaround by Lana & her supervisor, Matt (id *******), who refused to cancel the application, close the account or even provide us with our account number for reference.
Each CSR gave different information and the supervisor refused to even provide us with the account number or a specific means by which to cancel the account. We were simply given a couple 800 numbers and told to call in a day or two.
The $4500 amount was requested for dental work necessary for my 71-year-old mother. We feel this was a bait and switch tactic and that they are making it as difficult as possible (legal?) to cancel the account.
We simply want confirmation of our account being closed as soon as possible, with no charges, as promised by the supervisor.
My credit is far from perfect.
This card was easy to get and allowed me to take care of my teeth.
I found it easy to pay off early without any hassles.
At this moment... I have no words for this company... but then again I do, but, I want to respect others and not say what I honestly want to say... My blood pressure has been up for 2 days and this is not the first time this company has caused that.
I WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT AND UNABLE TO WORK FOR 3 MOS. I MADE A LARGE PAYMENT, THEY NEVER MENTIONED THEY CLOSED MY ACCOUNT. I CHECKED MY CREDIT SCORE AS I AM TRYING TO BUY A HOME AND THEY WRECKED IT BY REPORTING THE ACCT CLOSED. TERRIBLE COMPANY TO DO BUSINESS WITH ASIDE FROM THE 25% APR THEY ARE JUST PLAIN JERKS.
These guys suck they cancelled my card when I paid it off 2 years back do your self a favor stay away from this fly by Knight operation
I went to the website and arranged Care Credit to take $100 out of my checking account once a month. Imagine MY surprise when they took out the $100 and then three days later took $3000! I had NO money in my checking account. I called on a Wednesday crying that I had no money and I was PROMISED that I would have my refund check within 3 to 5 days. On Monday I called again and was promised that I would have the refund on Wednesday. On Wednesday when I still did not have my check I called and the agent told me that the check wasn't cut until Tuesday (6 days from my initial call) and I could expect it soon. (Are you freaking kidding me?) THEN a supervisor said no, no one told you that you would have that check in 3 to 5 days. I have no money, no one cares, and I will spend the rest of my life telling people NOT to use Care Credit.
My wisdom teeth were impacted and causing me a bunch of problems. I have permanent jaw issues from not being able to afford to pay to get them out when I was 19. So the oral surgeon told me about CareCredit. I was approved and was able to get my wisdom teeth out. Awesome, right? Wrong. Their interest rates are abserd. If you're literally one day late on your payment they'll charge you a $25 late fee that's just free money to them. I ended up getting so sick of making monthly payments and it never touching my balance that my dad ended up paying it off for me. A couple years later I had my daughter, since hospitals send bills from 80 different places when you have a baby I had a couple small doctor bills hit collections and ding my credit report. Right after that, CareCredit sent me a letter stating that they're closing my account due to 'recent credit inquiries'... What? I use it, pay it off, and they keep running my credit and close my account for absolutely no reason? I was never more than a day late with them, and closing credit accounts hurt your overall credit health. I never would have used them again, but how can they just close my account when I was always in good standing with them? They get away with it because they know that sometimes people are in bad situations and need help-and they feed off of that. Terrible terrible business.
I recently received a letter in the mail informing me that they have issued a credit for the interest charged. I have closed my inquiry with the Better Business Bureau.

It will be cheaper to get a lawyer then continue paying this care credit account. It is ridiculous! I called today to check my balance and the supervisor lied to me and said she would fix my account and she didn't. No where does it say that I have to call and let them know that my payment needs to be accredited to a specific purchase I made. I have already paid them way more than I should off. And to top it off they messed up my credit. I will sue them
