You're better off on skipping this credit card. It's not worth it in the long run. Customer service is ridiculous and horrible. Most of the time you're getting the run around on simple questions. The interest rate is extremely high. It's also not widely accepted as well. If i could give zero stars I would. Your credit is not worth the the hard hit inquiry this would put on your credit report.

READ THE REVIEWS AND TAKE THEM SERIOUSLY. TRUST ME ITS NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE.

I have had care credit for years due to having three dogs. I have run up and paid off the card over the years- literally giving this company thousands upon thousands of dollars. One of our dogs had a sudden expensive medical crisis in December of 2020 leading to a six day hospital stay and ultimately had to put to sleep - adding $6000 to my card. I gladly did whatever I could for a treasured pet. This gave me very high monthly payments which I haven't missed payment on. Twice the company has charged me a late charge for payment on my due date. Both of which showed on my account as pending and with a confirmation number. When I called customer service, they said it wasn't really a late fee. Hmmm. I received an email about whether I wanted to make a payment (the day after I paid), my account showed overdue and it said I owed a late fee. This all mysteriously disappeared after talking to a rep. I truly believe this company intends to do this on purpose so that customers pay extra fees that are not accurate. This has never happened once with any other credit card I have ever owned. A true scam.

This place sucks don't use them. We were told we were late in Nov 2020. We called them and told them out bank shows they received the payment 4 days before the due date. So customer service said ok we will wave the fee. Here comes April 2021. They have been charging us a late fee plus interest since November. I told them I will only pay the original payment. I can show you proof that it was paid on time. They kept saying the minimum has not been met. I said what don't you understand. I will hire an attorney to take care of this. If you have a another way of paying for medical services use them. Do not use this company

What company issues a great and useful card and when using that card and having a perfect payment history closes your account for NO REASON WITHIN 5 months of paying it off? CARE CREDIT DOES and this is how they show their appreciation for your business! Way To Go CARE CREDIT! We LOVE your nasty business practices and how deplorable you TREAT YOUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS!

My account was "closed" unexpectedly. Contacted customer service and was sent a letter stating it was closed due to a missed payment in October (5 months ago). Nothing in my account details showed anything but current (enrolled in auto payments), my credit report shows one late payment 2 years ago. I've had the card for 9 years.

Called customer service to find out about this missed payment and the service rep couldn't find anything other than the account was current. She contacted the manager who uncovered the missed October payment and despite not having any excuse why this missed payment never showed up or triggered a "late payment" status with the autopay, said the account would only be (maybe) reopened if I reapplied for credit.

After having a near flawless record for 9 years my account was closed during a pandemic over a single missed payment that doesn't show as an issue on the portal, doesn't show as an issue to the customer service representative, and took a manager over 20 minutes to locate. The five payments between the "missed payment" and the account closing all were processed normally. I will not reapply for this card. There are better options available with less interest.

Total lack of clarity regarding zero interest term. 26.9% interest rate (and I have outstanding credit). Nonexistent customer service (always 15 minute+ phone wait.) I opened an account to pay a vet bill in the amount of $1621. Made payment in full. A week later payment had not been debited from my bank. Contacted them via text and was told payment had a hold because account was new. Cancelled account. And they reversed my payment. So now I have no way to reach customer service (because my account is closed) and no way to pay off the account. Definitely contact BBB.

I got this card with an initial limit of 1000. 00 for dental services. I paid it off in 3 months. Then they raised my limit to 6000. 00,8 months later I charged 1200. 00 in vet fees to the card. Paid that off in 4 months. 10 months later they canceled my card and the only way I found was through my credit monitoring service. They never contacted me, I was never late with a payment, always paid greater then the minimum due. My credit score to a hit. These people are scum. Do not do business with them.

Very satisfied
March 24, 2021

We have been periodically using Care Credit since 2012 and always take advantage of their promotions. Never has there ever been a problem. People do not understand the promotional balance needs to be completely paid by the expiration date. If there is $1 not paid, you then will be charged interest on the whole amount from the day the promotion started! Payments also need to be paid on time each month! It's a win win deal if you follow the rules. If you pay late or don't pay off the balance before the promotion ends, you will pay!

They have unclear terms. I paid faithfully double the minimum every month and somehow I would always owe extra.
I would talk to an agent but they couldn't understand me enough to help. So the issues never get resolved. ITs ridiculous I have paid almost twice as much as I borrowed on an interest free loan. Mind you I pay on time, double if not triple minimum.

That does not make sense.

I have a great credit history, but my CareCredit application was denied due to them apparently being unable to verify my identity. Uh, what? I provided all requested information for the online application. They wouldn't tell me what the specific problem was with the identity verification nor give me an option to provide any additional info that would be needed. Instead I got a generalized statement in the mail that I was denied due to their inability to satisfactorily verify my identity. I wrote to the provided address to ask if I could provide any lacking information so my application could be reconsidered, and I then received another generalized, unhelpful response/denial in the mail.

There is no reason they shouldn't be able to verify who I am. I'm a U.S. citizen and have been since birth. I don't know what the hell their problem is or why they're unwilling to sort it out with me. Nope, just deny. What a crock.

CareCredit goes through Synchrony bank, meaning this may be more a review of Synchrony than of CareCredit, but hey if CareCredit is choosing to partner with Synchrony and this is what happens, then CareCredit deserves the review as well.

On two separate occasions different providers my card was declined. Customer service at Care Credit
Said my card is active with a zero balance. There was plenty of money that should have been acceptable to me but each time my card was tried, it was declined. I could never get an answer to the problem.

This card is the worst. Yall are better off applying for a loan or different credit card rather than this one. I applied and made 2 purchases on different years so each had different expiration dates. They set up a monthly minimum fee that won't cover the full bill by when a promotional purchase expires. (That's how they get you). Additionally, the money gets allocated in a way that doesn't make sense which ends up with an account getting more money than the other. For example, my monthly payment was $134 (way high) and my purchase that's expiring by the end of the year was getting 100 and the other that was literally expiring within a month was getting the rest $34. Like what?! I had to find a way to pay $600 dollars by next month because the purchase that was expiring later on in the year was getting all my money. When I called to ask about this the operator told me I had to call to fix payments a certain way every time my bill was due. Okay, so next month I call to put 100 towards my purchase due soon and the rest towards the other one. Statements come and nothing was changed. I call to inquire about the error but instead the manager starts yelling at me that I got the wrong info and basically talking to me like I was dumb. Well it was your mistake to begin with but whatever. So at this point I got over care credit and didn't want to deal with them again. Luckily I'm banking with a great union bank and I got a loan out and paid off care credit and I am now paying off my loan at a way lower monthly rate and no interest! Oh and btw when you call customer service expect to talk to someone overseas that can't come up with no resolution and gets mad when you start questioning things.

When care credit was recomended to me for dental work due to me not having insurance it seemed like a good Idea, specially since there was no interest if you payed the balance off within a year. Unfortunately I used this credit a couple of months before the pandemic hit and if work would have been steady throughout the year I would have easaly been able to pay it off within that year but it wasn't. I still kept making payments on a timely basis (i was late once and got hit with a $40 fee for 1 day) but I was not able to pay it off within that year and I got hit with $585.59 of finance charges, the next month the finance charge was $42.91. So I was able to come up with some money and hopping that if I paid the balance in full I would be able to get some type of help or discount, I called and they shut me down right away even after I tried to explain the situation to them hopping because so many people aren't doing well and are struggling to make ends meed they didn't care one bit that I had to pay it in full or keep paying monthly payments which from what I'm seeingm, it's very difficult. I'm not blaming them, it's a bussiness and obviously all they care about is the money, I just wish I would have done more reseach and didn't expect more from them. I hope this helps someone make their decision and look for other options if it's not really necessary for them to take a loan from care credit.

Zero stars
March 2, 2021

Absolutely terrible! The first month a payment was due, I had autopay set up through the Synchrony bank website. First months payment was pulled from my account and I was under the assumption that the payment was made fine. I was surprised to know that the payment was refunded to me and caused me to miss the payment and I was charged a 60$ late fee. I called customer service and asked what the issue was, I received no help and was still charged the late fee. From there, I paid my monthly statement over the phone with my debit card since I no longer trusted the Synchrony bank website. Just to test it again, I attempted to make a monthly payment through the website again, but this time using my checking account instead of my savings account. Again, the money was pulled from my account then refunded. To avoid having another late payment, I called the next day and paid over the phone with my debit card. To my surprise, I received a letter in the mail stating that my account was closed. I called customer service and was on hold for 34 minutes before the call hung up and I tried again. I was then on the hold for another hour and 10 minutes before speaking with the Supervisor, Troy, who shared that due to the money having to be refunded to me, the rules were that my account was closed and could not be reopened. I blatantly shared that there is an issue with the Synchrony bank website. He did not care. Had zero empathy. I am extremely disappointed and will never use this service ever again. Horrible experience.

Poor customer service
February 26, 2021

Waited on hold for over an hour just to ask one simple question. I was finally connected to a gentleman from another country who was very rude and repeatedly kept responding with a generic answer. When I asked to speak with a supervisor he hung up on me. Shame on you care credit. I will definitely be canceling my card and using a different medical credit provider!

You will feel screwed!
February 25, 2021

I am very disappointed with CareCredit. My boyfriend and I use this card for emergencies with my dog. She has many seizures and is a bit much to pay out of pocket. So we have never been late on a payment. Our first purchase was over $700. They give you 6 months to pay off w/out interest. Then we used again for $450. So as soon as we paid off the first amount on the last day so there was not Interest. Two days later our account was closed. Say it was closed due to two payment that did go though. So to be clear yes it did not take one of my cards for a payment, but we made payment with another card. SO ALL PAYMENTS WERE MADE IN TIME AND PAID WITHIN 6 months. WE HAD OUR ACCOUNT CLOSED DUE TO A PROBLEM WITH THEM NOT TAKE A PAYMENT FROM A CERTAIN CARD. It seem as if we were punished for making our payments on time and paying it off within six months. I feel like they were disappointed, because they couldn't charge us interest they wanted to charge us. Not once were we never told. Your account will be closed if you try and make a payment and the card does work. Now we have to see what them closing our account will do to our credit. Oh yes and they closed our account. With us still having a balance of $400 to pay. Telling us we should still continue to pay off our balance.
