False Advertising!
October 15, 2015

They advertise that you can pay for just one month to try their services, but in the "fine print" you have to physically downgrade your services or they keep charging your credit card. Then, they refuse to reimburse you... you feel tricked as a result!

NO JOBS FROM THIS SITE
October 14, 2015

Glad I didn't put any money into this! I have had a account for over a year. I'm on their as a housekeeper and actively looking for work. All the jobs I find are a joke, someone who wants to pay next to nothing for me to break my back and clean their house.
ON TOP OF THAT I get jobs sent to my email and via text message all the time. SPAM/FRAUD telling me they will pay me $400 a week and then some to come in and clean before they actually move into the house from another state. I fell partially for it once, when I emailed one of them back and they wanted ALL my information. I supply a brief summery online along with 2 referances. I also supply referances to my professional cleaning job that I worked at for 7 years. No need for additional info like what my exact home address is! She also asked for my yearly income! WHAT?!
I stopped at one. I don't care what the issue, I'm not giving out this information to some random person half way across the country who wants cleaning services and to "pay me I'm advance" until they actually move. Sketchy sketchy sketchy. The best part is, I got 3 more of these identical messages. Therefor leading me to beleive care.Com is a scam.
Also you can't list ur number or email in a message. And I have only had 1 response out of a the messages I have put on the site.

I was a care. Giver on Care.com, I was late for a assignment because the parent failed to tell me that her parking lot was being paved... after dealing with the parent who frequently changed schedules and short notice days... that I was flexible to deal with... I had a unfortunate experience of oversleeping... I apologized to the parent and she proceeded to write a review attacking my religious affiliation and beliefs... that has nothing to do with the job. There was no protection from care.com from this wacko...

I tried to start an account as a caregiver and the background check came up with incorrect information. Care.com gives you 90 days to clear it up, the company running the check was not helpful at all, it would take several months to be able to get them to clear the incorrect information. After 90 days, you are ineligible for a care.com account for life. My record is 100% clear, clear enough that the US government has given me security clearances.

I tried for six months to downgrade my account to basic and stop the continuous charges to my credit card. Six times I went through their process for downgrading an account and six times I was charged again. I finally disputed all charges through my credit card company, Care gave me a one month refund, ONE month. And when I called to demand a full refund based on email evidence that I downgraded my account they said "THERE IS NOTHING ELSE WE CAN DO WITH THIS ACCOUNT, WE ALREADY REFUNDED YOU ONE MONTH". That was after searching aimlessly on their site for a contact phone number and dozens of emails that went unanswered. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES SIGN UP FOR AN ACCOUNT WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO CLOSE/DOWNGRADE YOUR ACCOUNT, CONTACT THEM OR GET YOUR MONEY BACK. THEY STOLE OVER $200 FROM ME AND REFUSED TO EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE THE MISTAKE. SHAMEFUL.

Best way to get rid of them... call your CC company and have them put a block so that Care.com can no longer charge you. Don't ever bother with their system, it is a scam.

The response below is B. S. I was fully aware of their auto update policy. What their representative fails to disclose is that their system makes it impossible for you to stop the automatic monthly updates. Absolutely impossible, see the exact same response to dozens of complaints, we can't all be so stupid. Care.com is stealing and anyone impacted should contact the BBB.

DON'T DO IT
October 6, 2015

Bottom line... like everyone else paid for one month of service (specifically says one month) continued to be billed. I hate companies like this! So frustrating! Stay away. Thank goodness I have American Express, they stand behind you as a customer and reversed the charges.

SCAM SCAM SCAM
October 5, 2015

THIS COMPANY IS CRIMINAL! THEY STEAL FROM YOUR CC ACCOUNT EVEN AFTER CANCELLING YOUR MEMBERSHIP! CANCEL YOUR CC YOU HAVE ON ACCOUNT WITH THEM AFTER CANCELLING YOUR MEMBERSHIP OR THEY WILL STEAL FROM YOU. AND GOOD LUCK CALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE, YOU WILL NOT SPEAK TO A HUMAN, AND IT IS BECAUSE THEY KNOW THEY ARE STEALING FROM YOU. REPORT ANY CHARGES TO YOUR BANK AS FRAUDULENT, IF NOT JUST TO GET IT ON RECORD THAT THIS COMPANY IS JUST THAT... FRAUDULENT! DO NOT USE CARE.COM UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE A SUCKER.

Huge scam
September 30, 2015

It is nearly impossible to cancel a membership with this site. I am still being charged two months after I cancelled. I ended up filing fraud charges with my bank and they are going to handle it now. I called them the day after a charge appeared on my statement and they said they had no record of my membership either by email, name, digits on credit card... blahblahblah. I had just logged in before I called them to see what is going on and the site said my membership was cancelled. While on the phone with customer service I logged out then tried to log back in again and no matter what email I gave them (I have two) it did not recognize me at all. I got locked out. Their billing department is "all automated so there is no one for you to talk to". She took my phone number and said I would get a call back today but I'm letting my bank handle it at this point. My time is too valuable to waste on these scammers. DO NOT SIGN UP OR YOU CAN'T GET RID OF THEM! I don't know about any of you, but I think $39 is pretty high to just throw away on a monthly basis.

Folks, please be cautious. I signed up for a one-month membership, and four months later, am still fighting charges that keep appearing on my credit card statement EVERY MONTH.

I have seen other comments like this from consumers. My suggestion is to pay via another method other than credit card. Or find a caregiver through another method altogether.

A year ago I upgraded our preschool's listing from the free listing to the premium listing for a monthly fee. We did get about two referrals a month, but not a single one of them was looking for 3-4 year-old preschool. All were looking for nannies or daycare for younger children. Since our first year is just about up I thought I would call them to see if they had any plans to separate the searching for preschool vs daycare, but as so many others have found out, there is no contact information on the website. Once I started looking around and saw so many recent negative reviews I realized that our preschool does not need to be associated with this type of business.

Bad website
September 24, 2015

A man contacted me on the website and I wasn't really sure what his real name was as profile said one name, but he said in a message it was a different name. Another man gave me an address for an interview that was non-existent. Another couple I was meeting at Starbucks that never showed up. It seems that there is a lot of fraud or scammers on the website. These people try and obtain your resume before meeting you and then they don't call you back. I have also had an Ericka W. Who was going to hire me, but then changed her mind last minute. She also wanted me to care for her children for a really low wage for that amount of children. I felt like there was a lot of people playing games, trying to obtain my personal information, and a whole lot of wasted gas driving around to interviews. My account was terminated and they wouldn't give me the reason despite two stellar references on the website and I had been on the website for 3 years prior. I also stopped getting email notifications to my account a few months prior to the termination so I am not sure if it was Care.com or if it had been hacked and my account was sending out spam or something, but it would have been nice to know that or the reason why I was terminated. In the beginning they were great, but something negatively changed this year. Needless to say, it was embarrassing that my account was terminated.

Scam site -
September 24, 2015

Beware when putting your information on this site. You will become the target of fraudsters. My daughter was taken for $2,200 by a "Care.com client" who gave her a paycheck. We have yet to find a way to speak with an actual person about this situation yet.

Horrible customer service
September 24, 2015

I signed up for the premium membership in hopes of finding a nanny. Unfortunately, we had little luck and after a little over a month, I went to "downgrade" my membership to the free basic version. I then checked my credit card statement a few months later and realized they had been charging me the $49.99/mo for the last 4 months AFTER I had cancelled. I then tried to call and speak to someone and this was nearly impossible. They clearly have a purpose in their call system and it is solely to try their best NOT to speak to you. I finally got in touch with someone and they were of no help and refused to let me speak with their manager. I then called back again a few days later and had similar issues. They told me they would have a manager call me back and all I got was an email refusing to speak to me about my issue. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS SITE TO ANYONE.

Interesting!
September 21, 2015

I was trying to pay for a one month subscription and it kept telling me the card was invalid. I knew it was a valid card and after several attempts I walked away for awhile. When I returned and re-entered my card information it had, unbeknownst to me, defaulted to the three month subscription. Low and behold it then accepted my card! Coincidence? I think not!

Let me start off my saying they have got THE WORST customer service & policies I have ever encountered! Takes days for them to even email you back/you can stay on hold for hours!

They really should do background checks on families as well as caregivers to protect them as well. I've read a few comments about sketchy encounters girls have walked into on their Facebook wall today!

I met a woman off of care.com saying she would pay me $25 an hour to watch her 5 children (which have disabilities)... after I "train" for 5+ hours she sends me a huge email (WHICH I SCREENSHOT & sent to care.com in an email) saying how she loved me and thought I would be a perfect fit... gave me the hours she would want me to work, and at the very end of the email goes FOR THE FORST FEE MONTHS I WANT TO PAY YOU $13 AN HOUR as a trial period!

My jaw hit the ground! I was so upset that I had wasted over 5+ hours training/over an hour interviewing for this job/ driving to and from/ emailing & texting back and forth! That's a slap in the face for all the experience I have (which she knew about SHE CALLED ALL MY REFERENCES!)

ANYWAYS I sent her a very pleasant and professional email declining the job STATING unfortunately I can not accept the job for $13 an hour! She tried raising it to $15 asking if that would help! WHAT ABOUT THE $25 YOU ORINGINALLY SAID?!?

Turns out a few girls I work with at a local daycare have crossed this woman's paths and warned me! So I blocked her number.

A month goes by and she decides to give me a 1 star review on care.com saying I never got back to her and left in a huge mess without childcare! 1. I have proof with the email I sent her declining the job 2. I never accepted the job SO how did I leave you in a bad position?!

I have been trying to have care.com delete this review & you would think since I have proof they would help! It's very clear they don't care about the situation at all and that now all future parents will see is a negative review next to my name WHICH I DO NOT DESERVE!

They deleted my comment on their Facebook and blocked me from posting on their wall! I guess they don't want others to see the truth of what goes on!

Law suit waiting to happen
September 14, 2015

Like so many other reviewers, I got "terminated from their site as well ". I missed an interview because they told the person that I was terminated. Talking about ruining your reputation. I tried to sign up to apply for a job through Indeed.com which is a public job site search engine that posts their jobs and they refused. They can't post jobs to a public site and then be discriminatory as to who can apply. If they want to have unfair and bad business practices. I am pretty sure they have to keep it within their own site. Whatever. I am sure I am not missing anything. The people that are on there are scammers, people who don't have any value placed on who cares for their child, can't afford a good nanny and are looking for the cheapest option. And then complain about getting a terrible provider. It you give this company a dime of your money. You will regret it. Nannies, don't do it. Go to Sittercity, an Agency, find a Yahoo Group in your town or something else but stay away from these people. I am waiting for the day when they get sued. Karma is a b and their day is coming.

I am a Certified Nursing Assistant with over a decade of experience and I signed up for care.com a year ago as a Senior Care Provider and I still have yet to find a job through their services.

First I created a basic profile and applied to over a dozen recent job postings in my area. I never heard back from a single person requesting a caregiver because all of them had signed up for care.com, been overcharged by care.com, then terminated their membership.

I decided to upgrade my profile and pay $40 for the background check and the $20/ month membership fee.

A month after my background check was completed, I logged onto care.com and the screen displayed a message that my account had been terminated and I couldn't log in.

I checked my email and had a message from care.com stating that my account had been terminated.

(Here I have copied and pasted the email below):

We are writing to inform you that we have terminated your Care.com membership.
Under our terms of service, Care.com has the right, among other things and in its sole discretion, to terminate your membership for any reason or no reason, with or without notice. In addition, Care.com is authorized by the terms of service to notify other members with whom you have corresponded of this action.
As indicated, Care.com may terminate a member for any reason or no reason. Accordingly, we have notified members that our decision to terminate your Care.com membership does not constitute and should not be interpreted or used as information bearing on your character, general reputation, personal characteristics, or mode of living.
Sincerely,

The Care.com Team

So I decided to call them and find out why my account was terminated because as you can see from their email, they state that they can "terminate any account for any reason or no reason at all."

This is one of a few phone numbers I found online for contacting them.
*******115
Press 3, then 1

However, no matter what number you call, you will never get a hold of an actual customer service representative. You will just follow the command prompts, be on hold for half an hour, then the system will automatically hang up on you.

It's still a mystery to me why my account was terminated. I believe they do this with many accounts- just collect money, then terminate an account for no reason. They are crooks.

If you've had bad experiences with care.com and ever need a Senior caregiver in the Tucson area, email me- *******@live.com
