Overall, while the service shows potential, improvements in communication and reliability are essential for enhancing customer experience.

Check the better business bureau on this company. SCAM. Take your $ no getting it back. Signed up for a month subscription and canceled before the month was over. They keep auto drafting your account and will not refund you. Google care.com and look at all the reviews. Total BS company
I post a job looking for house cleaner and paid for 1 month subscription to access it labour hire.
8 months later I realised that I have been charged $45 every month.
With all the reviews I have read, my question is why is this site still running and collecting payments. Trust pilot should do something. It should be shut down! I was debited and I cannot access the site. I have tried contacting them on phone with the number put for contact, emailed all no response. What type of business is this? SHUT THE SITE DOWN! Raising a dispute with my bank now.
Not sure why they haven't been shut down after all these scam reviews! My mom was scammed like so many others. They even sent a $2 phishing charge ahead of a monthly recurring charge $39 charge. I just happened to be checking for an unrelated charge on her card and notice these charges. My mom swears she bailed on the offered commitment pages not wanting to subscribe to anything. After calling them today they said they would cancel the service. The follow-up email they sent her said they cancelled the charge and the monthly membership and left her on a standard no-charge membership; which is not what we requested. Anyone having these issues needs to call the credit card company and alert them to not accept charges from this company. If you don't this company will probably continue to hit your card monthly according to other reviews I have read.
Absolutely abysmal. Avoid at all costs. Scam website. Takes your card for billing at start, automatically renews almost impossible to cancel the payment, no email updates for payments taken. Terrible, avoid at all costs. Not genuine at all.
I would give 0 stars if possible.
The vast majority of care providers on this website are under-qualified and not adequately screened. The few that appear to be qualified are already working and unavailable. This website is a total scam so I decided to cancel the overpriced "Premium Membership" which is about $60 per month. Membership is auto charged. When I attempted to cancel the subscription, I was unable to as their website was down. There is no phone number or anyone to call. They charged my card and I was unable to obtain a refund.
I am quite aghast and dissatisfied by the advertisement needed for one looking for a job. There is no logic in paying to upgrade to premium when this is a job hunting site, the whole point in being the person needs the income to survive financially. The site is a scam as it did not advise new comers in search of a extra income that they would have to pay monthly. The adverting is also quire atrocious as there are no unlimited options! This is counterproductive and just a waste of finance.
The site is no help when trying to cancel the payment/ account! Don't even try to chat with someone it just takes you back to the original screen! I have reached out to customer service they don't help they tell me to use a desktop computer and still nothing
Sadly, Care.com closed my account because of one person that is doing her best to defame my character. I never had any complaints but they are a one sided company and that is very unfair even when it's proven by your track record that it's good to investigate the complaint.

First of all there is an offer to try FOR FREE then you cant finish your profile without entering credit card. You don't know if jobs are available in your area until they get your money. Once they get your money. Nothing is available in the area. You cannot reach anyone with this group and their auto generated emails are a joke. I am disputing any charges to my card. Apparently this is a scam b. S. membership which should be advertised as such with ability to delete profile and all credit card information if not satisfied. AVOID CARE because they don't care about anything except getting your money!
UPDATE 7/24/21 Want your profile removed? Update bio header and bio to include your scam experience and how they only use your information to extort money, click update so they can review and approve then wait. You should get an email they removed or cancelled your account. I got my profile deleted and money refunded. Good luck!
I had used Care.com to find previous babysitters and nannies for years now and when I posted a job this morning - out of nowhere, they deleted my account permanently and gave no reason for it. I've been reading other instances of this and believe this has happened to a LOT of community members who have done nothing wrong and been part of the community for years. When you contact them, they reply with a template that explains nothing. I'm afraid it's a scam and sadly, I'll have to use other ways to find childcare moving forward.
DO NOT use this site. They make you pay for a background check before they tell you that they will require your social security number. If you decide you are not comfortable providing your SSN, there is no way to finalize your account, meaning no way to cancel your subscription. It is a complete scam, they took my money for a service they will not be providing. The only way for me to cancel my subscription will be to go through the bank. I tried contacting care.com to no avail, this is a COMPLETE SCAM.
Charging CC recurrently without service. Care givers were totally useless! Cant find any with initial sign up. These people just WANT FREE MONEY NOthing else! They neeed to be taken to court!
I engaged with Care.com on the advice of a friend. They wanted to perform a background check on me. I had no problem with that as I knew there was nothing derogatory on my record. In an effort to retain the money I had paid them, STERLING dug up an item THIRTY YEARS OLD. I contacted the appropriate court to investigate this item. They had no record. I then contacted the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division. This is the state police agency. They could find no record. In fact, they had performed a background check on me about 5 years ago and I was approved. The company, Care.com and their friends at Sterling have a scam working to relieve innocent people of their money. I am still working on the THIRTY YEAR OLD ITEM. I am trying to resolve this, especially if it is an identity theft situation. I have not received any help from these two companies. They send me on will goose chases - "call this number, contact these people, etc." It may not seem like much money, but if they are doing this to others, it can be a lucrative business. Use this company at your own risk. It is a nightmare for me.
AS A COMMON COURTESY
Maybe this website should tell you before wasting your time
filling out the profile & save you wasted time by finding out after the fact ~ that without a "PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP" which you pbviously need to pay for "$$$$" you CANNOT SEE NOR ARE YOU ABLE 2C OR REPLY 2 the ongoing incoming alerts re: messages ur notified of via your email!
I deleted my account asa I realized what a crock this website is.
The Care.com concept is a good one. Here's the rub. It is easy to create an account. Once your caretaker is discovered, and you no longer need Care.com, just try to cancel you account. I still have not be able to do it, and have been unable to contact a live human to assist me. The on-line instructions for how to cancel an account are inaccurate. I am beyond frustrated.
I opened my credit card summary today and noted I was charged for an additional year subscription as a provider to CARE. Unlike every other company that renews subscriptions, CARE DOES NOT give you an advance notice of your renewal. Thus, giving you no option to cancel. After many frustrating searches on their inadequate site I finally found the one hidden page to cancel my account. The other, more obvious pages, only give you the option to Upgrade your basic account. I cancelled my account on the same day it renewed and contacted the support team at CARE to please refund their one year renewal charge. ( I had also paused my account for several months up to now). The personnel team absolutely refused to reimburse me for the membership charges for an additional year. Yes, this is another greedy scam of a company.
I used the service as a caregiver and had relatively good success. However, I canceled my subscription and eventually got a promotional offer to get 3 months of premium for $10/month.
They charged me for the 3 months in January, then in February proceeded to charge me the full fee for premium. And every month after.
In May I canceled my membership once I realized what was going on and in June they still charged me.
I contacted their "support" which is extremely hard to locate, and they told me they have no record of any transaction for me after November 2020! I'm now in a lengthy dispute, since it's 4/5 days between responses from them.
The site is clunky, difficult to use, and if you're a caregiver its impossible to search for other caregivers like a babysitter for my son.
Stay far far away!
I paid for a one month membership, with tax came to $42.07. A complete rip off. Was looking for Housekeepers. Out of the 15 or so... mostly young women who were listed, I reached out to 4 women who were in my immediate area. Only one responded. I quickly responded back to her... and nothing back. The worst service ever. Waste of time and money. I was better off trying to find someone by looking at local ads or finding a different service all together. CARE COM IS AWFUL. RUN FROM THIS SO CALLED SERVICE AND CERTAINLY DONT PLUCK DOWN ANY MONEY FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT RESPONSIVE.
No service whatsoever, no follow up.The so called candidates never respond. I doubt of their existence!
Answer: Hello, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they are currently investigating Care.com. This is important enough to me that they have scammed me out of 6 months of payments and I had to close my credit card for Fraud. If you have had a bad experience with Care.com, I would encourage you to file a complaint with BBB. If enough people complain, then they will take more serious action. Here is the website. It is a short process to submit a complaint. https://www.bbb.org/consumer-complaints/file-a-complaint/get-started
Answer: Steer clear from Care.com or what we prefer to call Care-aless. Com! They are only about profit for them. The site is for trollers that prey on innocent families. You'd be better off putting an ad in your local newspaper. Most local newspapers also have online readership too!
Answer: I am determined to shut this site down. I am contacting news programs, The Today Show, Good Morning America and any and all others. Shut them down!
Answer: This is so sad! I have been on both sides as I have an assisted living home in Pensacola Florida. I used care.com to staff my home; awful. Then when I had myself on as a provider they suspended me for a 14 year old non viloent misdemeanor, and they did not even have my permission to check past 7. They want you to get crappy providers, the good ones are kicked off because once ya get a good one, you no longer need them. Cash cow corrupt company who makes rules up as they go along, I heard 20/20 is doing a special. I plan to contact them, as I am verifiably the best care coordinator hands down, extremely good with direct care. You will only ever be returned 1 month contact the Federal Trade Commission file a complaint that's what I did, the more problems the better the case against care, com
Answer: I would be cautious. I hope she is not moving for the job, as that is NOT a good idea. I get text messages daily from people asking me to email them (often for a friend), or someone coming from out of town or whatever. I delete these right away. First of all, they should go through the regular website and email you. No one would hire anyone without first meeting them, checking references, etc. I am sitting at the home of someone I took with through the Care site. I first communicated via email, then set up a face to face and met the kids. If it seems too good to be true, it is. USE COMMON SENSE! Seriously, if you don't have common sense you really shouldn't be taking care of kids, pets or anyone else!
Answer: Your guess is as good as mine. Maybe they have a big money backer and can screw people of their money and lack of customer service? They should be called, I don't care.com
Answer: If I were you I'd choose another site. Care.com is terrible.
Answer: Some of the clients are looking for cheap labor through the internet for housekeeping. I usually tell the person to call me back for interview finish. Then I would tell them that I am self-employed and they would need to file a 1099 for taxes to IRS.
Answer: Care.com is set up for parents that pay for the service... Parents can enroll for free and place and add. However, If they do not forward their credit card any messages from caregivers will have a blocked phone number. The babysitter cam also enroll for free and make a profile for her services. However if she does nor forward her credit card she can only apply to 8 jobs every 28 days and only the ads from parents that have paid for an account will be able to contact her. DO NOT respond to anyone contacting you on your phone that did not contact through Care.com first... This is always a scam... The message will look like this: I am moving to your area soon and need car for my son/daughter. Kindly respond to my email.(They are looking to scam you for money.)
Answer: Sitter city.com could help you. I have honestly had nothing but problems with care.com. They make up rules as they decide not how things are written and do not follow their own privacy policy. They feed on single moms and dads. As well as children providing for aging parents You can place an add on Craigslist as well, for free and your prospective employee provides their own background check as it can be a most recent one and obtained by themselves at 5 to 10 dollars
