I'll try to be quick. My wife signed up for a paid membership and used for one month about 2 years ago. She didn't like the site, so she stopped using.

Two years later I recognized we were on auto renew for ~$40 a month, or ~$1k in total fees paid. We were not getting any notifications of payments via email or text. I only discovered by combing through my wife's credit card statement.

No customer service telephone number. Just a chat box.

The service rep got really snippy with my wife and only refunded 1 month, then closed out the chat before my wife's questions were answered.

There are better ways to do business and consumers need to understand what they are getting into by signing up for this membership. Predatory.

The site functionality needs some work. There are not enough filters to find a nanny (no live-in option, for example). There are also different filters you can choose from in the app vs the website.

The website is OK has room for improvement. I don't like how different profiles are so inconsistent with which info they display (and I understand that's partially due to the applicant's preferences). For example, I can see how many families one babysitter has sat for through care.com but not another for another babysitter. I wish it was more consistent. I also wish there was more motivation for people to write reviews for babysitters since reviews are so helpful when making a decision about who to hire.

So, recently I had paid for a background check which was clear by the way. I ran a driver record, and it showed my date of birth did not match my application with Care.com. I tried so many times to get in contact with them never heard anything. What a waste of time and money!
