I've only had one applicant for my nanny position, who doesn't even fully meet my requirements. They also don't have any background or safety verification (besides their phone was verified) so i have to pay for that extra. I'm disappointed that one has to pay for every little service extra. Premium is not premium at all - it feels more like I just booked a flight with Spirit, meanwhile I wanted to fly with Delta.

Many sites like ours charge a fee in order to be able to offer you the features our site offers. Otherwise we'd just be like any other free classified site with very little to offer.

It is kind of a racket to me

It is kind of a racket to me. First there is a monthly fee and then there is another fee for background checks and then numerous other fees for contracts etc. Very expensive and still a lot of responsibility on our end to arrange everything.

Your babysitter can show up as late as they want, and they often do, and care.com will not give you a refund or even a credit on your account. You will be paying for hours worth of time during which your babysitter is not present, on top of missing whatever appointment you booked the babysitter for to begin with. There is also a Care.com transaction fee for each babysitting appointment which they will not refund for a late appointment or no-show, on top of their exorbitant membership fees. By using Care.com, you may as well be burning your money.

We have been a paid homepay account holder for 4 years and our nanny for the past 4 years is leaving and we do not feel we should have to pay care.com as well to post the job and view the responses. If we can't replace the nanny than we can no longer use homepay. We feel like by paying for homepay we should get the benefits of using care.com free of charge. Also, there should be a way to communicate with someone that can help with both homepay and care.com at the same time... We had to make multiple calls between both providers and wasted a ton of time on hold and had to go back and forth several times...
