I went to the world wide web in search of the hotel for a weekend get away and was directed to Cancelon. I proceeded to select my hotel of choice and my days. All good right. I paid and got a confirmation letter with the WRONG departure date. I looked for somewhere to adjust the date to have it corrected, didn't see one. So I canceled that one with in minutes did another reservation with the correct date. All is good. I paid and we have our weekend plan. I called the hotel the following Monday and they do not have a reservation. Cancelon had canceled that one as well. With it being Labor Day weekend all the rooms I needed were no longer available. Here is what really gets me. They are charging me a cancellation fee on both of them. I did not cancel the second one and the first one was an error on the website. When I called the customer line, I was told if I go and book it again that they would wave one of the fees. Really, Why would I do that just to have more issues.
Here is what I'm left with-No hotel reservation and 100 USD in fees they are charging for trying to use this company. With errors happening on there end.
I don't usually write bad reviews but I figured people should know before CancelOn ruins your weekend.
I booked my reservation and thought everything was all good. I then received an email stating, Dear Leshaun,
I hope you are well.
Following your reservation at The Westin Michigan Avenue Chicago, we would like to inform you that your booking is still in process as our bank is verifying the payment. In order to approve it, please provide us with your Full billing address, zip code, Additional email address and additional phone number so that we can confirm your reservation as soon as possible.
This email doesn't make a lick of sense. So, I called and talked to a rude customer service rep. I asked why am I giving you my address again, an additional email, and an additional phone number. Needless to say they charged my account and had the audacity to send this email:
Dear Leshaun,
Greetings from Cancelon!
We would like to update you that your reservation at the Westin Michigan Avenue Chicago Hotel with the following booking information is rejected since the Bank didn't approve the transaction. The transaction has been reversed back to your account. Please feel free to try and book it again with a different card.
We are sorry for any inconvenience.
You will see that the charge has been reversed to your VisaCard ending in 0056.
Please let us know if you need further information.

This email is to confirm that your refund has been issued by Hotel Booking Cancelon.com. It can take 10+ days to appear on your statement, if it takes longer please contact your bank for assistance.
It's going to take them up to 10 days to refund my money. If the their bank didn't accept my payment then how the hell did you charge my card. This company appears to be a fraud. I am pissed and if I don't receive my money back my attorneys will be on them like white on rice as they would say. I end up using the same card and went through Marriott and had no problems,
Dear Leshaun, first allow me to apologize on behalf of everyone here. We love what we do and we want for every customer to have the best possible experience. We would like to inform you that we have refunded your money on 23 August 218 and you will definitely see the funds on your card within 3-10 working days effective 23 Aug. 2018. Do not book with these guys. Scam!
I booked at price of 103/night plus tax. Reservation was not actually made at the hotel. Took almost 1 hour on arrival to get that straight. Amount charged me was $452. For three nights. When I got the hotel check out document, hotel had only charged 295.95. Cancelon said difference was the fees. The paperwork shows room rate at $116 x 3 = $348 plus $104 for tax and fees.
State tax and occupancy fees are actually 9%. Cancelon charged 30% for fees and taxes. Cancelon would make no adjustment. Don't book with these guys unless you are prepared for a big surprise!
Dear Ronnie, we are sad to hear things did not go as expected. This is not reflective of our operational standards. We are beyond sorry we did not communicate clearly. Kindly note the invoice provided by the hotel is without sales tax & fees and also that is not the final invoice which is addressed to our travel partner and the hotel is sorry to issue that. Please do not hesitate to contact us for any assistance here: https://www.cancelon.com/contact.
Kind regards,
Antonio
I was diverted to these a-holes when trying to book a hotel room. They kept putting up the wrong dates, so I did not confirm, and instead cancelled the orders. This happened twice, then i went to the actual hotel site and booked the room. When i checked my email, i saw a "refund" from Cancelon -- but I NEVER confirmed their booking in the first place. I called Cancelon and it turned out they charged me twice, and only refunded once. The operator said they were going to charge a "cancellation fee" until i yelled at him. They supposedly cancelled both of these bogus orders, but frankly i am concerned that they have my credit card numbers. Steer FAR AWAY from Cancelon.com.

Scam. Don't waste your time. They list a nonrefundable rate, take your money, then cancel the reservation. In my case, it was within 24hrs of booking and I just so happened to read my email. What would happen if they cancel it right before checkin? What's stopping them? You're screwed. Do not book through them unless you like having to redo your search and reservations multiple times. This Mickey Mouse outfit will leave you guessing is you *really* have a reservation?
Dear Ryan, We are extremely sorry that we were not able to confirm your reservation due to the unwanted circumstances & we had to refund you as per your request over the call with one of our executive. Unfortunately, Hotel informed us that the hotel is fully booked on the desired dates, even though at the time of booking and also at several occasions, they advised reservation is secured. Kindly be advised book out situations like yours can occur in the travel industry. Sometimes hotels are overbooked in order to secure their full capacity. Our main concern is to find a solution, that will meet your expectations. We again like to bring the fact in your attention that we asked you to please provide the alternate preference but you refuse to accept any alternate & only requested for the full refund. Kindly note that customer satisfaction is our top priority and we tried our full potential to serve you the best. We do apologise for all the inconvenience you had to face. We will take all the necessary measures in order to improve our services & make sure that the same scenario will not be repeated in the future. I booked Movenpick hotel phuket with cancelon. I trusted them since their prices were showing under Trivago. However, upon confirming reservation with Movenpick, they said that the reservation is not with them and instead with Ikon Hotel and referred me to contact cancelon / Ikon hotel for further info. I tried calling Cancelon (Australian support - 1800 *******) but no one answers. I called Ikon hotel and they confirmed my reservation with them. I never booked Ikon hotel. After numerous tries contacting cancelon, some girl called me and said that they can either try to fix the booking i. E. i still stay with Movenpick or they can refund me the money. I still trusted them and went ahead with them fixing the booking but i didn't hear back for 2 days. I tried contacting again and they responded back writing that they can't rebook me with Movenpick and the only option is to get refund and it will take 3 -10 days. It's been 3 days now and i cant book a hotel until i get refund.
Dear Ahmed, Thank you for reaching out to us and letting us know we dropped the ball. Our goal is customer satisfaction and we clearly failed to deliver. We would like to inform you that we have refunded you fully 3 days and request you to please check with your bank about the payment. Kindly do not hesitate to contact us for any assistance here: https://www.cancelon.com/contact. With my most sincere apologies,

They advertise a low hotel fee but the administration fee which are exorbitant bring the price way up. I was led to believe the $68 per night resort fee was paid for but when I got to the hotel they did not pay the resort fees which were $25 per night. They are making a lot of money on their bookings which I had to confirm twice as it was in the computer the first time. Never again,

Upon checkout at hotel, we noticed Resort Fee and Taxes charged on the hotel bill. These fees were paid in full when booking with cancelon through Tripadvisor. We had argued with the manager at hotel, then went back to cancelon. Cancelon wound up refunding the taxes and fees, yet it shouldn't have come to that. Never again will I use this shady company!

This website is engaged in fraudulent advertising and will charge your credit card without making the hotel booking. They send a "Confirmation" email, but if you call the hotel they have no record of the booking. They will then later "cancel" the booking and tell you that "at the last minute someone booked the room at the price we offered you." They say they will refund your money, but do not do so, and then their customer service says it must be a problem with your bank--my bank is very reliable and said that no refund had been processed.
They then removed the lower price from their website--but within a few hours had reposted the price that had become unavailable at the last minute. Definitely a fake listing or misleading listing.
The customer service was incredibly rude and unhelpful, and clearly only just reading from a script of prepared answers. They refused to identify the corporation behind cancelon.com or any other information about its practices. This is definitely a scam.
All the positive reviews they post are also obviously fake and written by bots. Avoid at all costs.

Never EVER use Cancelon. I used them to book a hotel in a remote part of the philippines. Got to the hotel and they didn't have a record of me paying for the hotel through cancelon. Luckily they had one room left but they charged me twice as much as I paid for it on cancelon. When I got home I tried to get my money back from cancelon since I had to pay for the room twice and they refused to give me my money back.
Dear Dave, We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience. Our leadership is trying to identify why this happened and we will resolve in a way that ensures superior customer experiences now and in the future. Please note that we noticed that you disputed the charge in order to refund you we request you to please withdraw your dispute. I found an All Inclusive PVR resort for our family of four through Tripadvisor and proceeded to enter the dates, number of Junior Suites and number of adults per suite, I thought that was pretty straightforward. I selected to book through Tripadvisor which then connected me to its own booking agency- Cancelon, I see 2 rooms, 2 adults, I interpret that to be 2 people per room, BUT when I received my confirmation voucher, it said 1 room 1 adult 1 room 1 adult.
Confused, I called Cancelon support # to make sure they have my reservation correct and Alas! They said that the voucher states what I interpret it to say, 1 adult per room! This is for an All-Inclusive resort which charges based on number of guests in each suite. The CSR (Cary or Gary) explained that I can either rebook at the current going rate which is a lot more than what I initially paid for two hours ago, I said no, Im not going to do that. He then offered to check if he can make the change for me for a better price and he would call me back in 15-20 minutes, I agreed. He never called me back.
I called again an hour later and spoke with Mervin. I asked Mervin how much is the difference if he were to make the change for me, he said that the prices are significantly higher than before for 4 adults. Mervin said that the hotel has my reservation now and suggested that I call the hotel in the morning and ask to buy for additional person per room on Monday once the reservation opens. I was beside myself with what he was telling me. I wanted to cancel but he said that if i cancel, I will incur the $867 cancellation fee per the website disclosure before I booked!
It was less than 3 hours since my booking and Cancelon wants to charge me $867 for cancelling for something that didnt get translated through TripAdvisor system and Cancelons system?! They wont tell me how much they will charge to make the change, they suggested I rebook a brand new reservation at who knows what the new rate is going for, or call the hotel to buy for additional members?
Lessons learned. I thought I was working with a respected brand new company- Tripadvisor- but they selected to work with a scamming third-party booking agency to deal with the monetary transactions? This is a very bad business model.
Dear Mimi, we are sad to hear we did not provide you with the best possible experience. We are constantly refining the way we do business and that is only possible thanks to candid feedback like yours. Kindly note that we are listening and we have waived the fee for you as a one-time courtesy. BEWARE! MISLEADING SITE. You get something different than what you paid for.
I booked my travel though Cancelon in the Hard Rock Cafe Hotel Punta Cana through Trivago. I specifically selected a Junior Suite, 2 bedrooms. Room description on web cited capacity to 6 people. The layout worked perfectly as my boys are traveling with my mom and husband and needed two separate sleeping areas, as I was not traveling with them.
I trusted this site as it was displayed by the Trivago website, which for what I know is a company trusted and reputable in the USA.
When my husband checked in this afternoon in the hotel he was given a regular double bedroom. I spoke to the Hard Rock Cafe Hotel Manager in Punta Cana, showed him the voucher that specified " Room Type: Junior Suite, two bedrooms" he told me that the room I booked thru Cancelon did not exist. And that my booking was just a regular double bedroom. I then called Cancelon, they confirmed the information cited on my voucher and said they would contact the hotel for them to honor the type of room purchased by me.
After a while, the same Cancelon agent named "Ben" said that he spoke to the hotel and that I purchased a "Junior suite with 2 beds". He was now contrarying his original version of the previous conversation and saying that the "2 bedrooms in the Junior Suite, meant 2 beds"...
I said that any person that can speak English can know the difference between the word "bed" and "bedroom". He said he could not help me today and that I needed to give him time to speak to his managing team.
I feel extremely unhappy frustrated and scammed about using Trivago and Cancelon. I have traveled the world and never had an issue like this.
I can't believe that a site that is geared toward the US market with big advertising on TV and web can suggest foreign operators with misleading and false information. Not only the hotel is not honoring the voucher with the information of my purchase, neither the website that I purchased it through. I am desperate to see that all the planning has been blown just like this, "oh no it's not 2 bedrooms it's 2 beds." What should I do with the voucher containing the information that I thought I paid for? This is not how the people in the USA are used to handle things. I expect to be honored for what I have in writing. If the information on their site is wrong, unfortunately, that is not my problem. Someone needs to address my issue Trivago does not have a customer support number nor has replied to my request, and Cancelon after speaking many times to their manager "Ben" said that he needed to reach me back so he could speak to his "managing team" I called again after a while and another rep said that the case showed like "resolved", that was the moment when I realized they would not do something about me. We had to book another suite for $1500 more. Totally unexpected expense. Just because these scammy companies have false information on their web. Please beware. Use Expedia or Travelocity instead.

Made the reservation a month in advance for my birthday then when we arrived to the hotel they had no information or reservation under our names. After calling the customer service department and handing the phone back and forth to the receptionist over 45 minutes, they first tried to claim we cancelled our reservation. Then we said, no, we made no cancellation and the charge is still on our credit card and paid... Finally, the receptionist was able to get our room paid for by the company that clearly had not been reserved, then they tried to stick us with the resort fee that we paid for as well. Overall STAY AWAY! Scam!

I called the hotel an hour after booking through cancelon and hotel staff had never heard of them nor had seen my booking. I got suspicious and googled reviews from cancelon which you can see has a terrible rating. Thankfully i was able to cancel and avoid an disappointment. Book with expedia or anyone else to get reliability. Its a bit more but worth it. You get what you pay for at least. NOT with these guys!
Dear Pamela, we are sad to hear things did not go as expected. We are constantly refining the way we do business and that is only possible thanks to candid feedback like yours. Total waste of money and time. We booked 3 nights in Paris hotel Las Vegas total pre paid to cancel-on was $411 including resort fee.
When we arrived the hotel did not have a reservation for us and had never heard of this company. We were attending a wedding so had not choice but to stay at Paris and pay the rack rate which was $780. Now we are out the $411 and the $780.
Each day of our 3 day trip we spent at least 2 hours on the phone with this company and they assured us every day we would not have to pay anything upon check out. WRONG. They are a complete scam.
The Hotel was very nice and tried to help us and even got their Wholesale department involved but they too had never heard of this company. When we asked cancel-on to provide us who their 3rd party booking firm was they said that information was private.
Cancel-on said they will refund us the $411 plus the extra $300+ we paid out of pocket. They also said they will pay us through a pay-pal account. Hah...
I told them I believe that when VEGAS freezes over. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY JUST TO SAVE A FEW BUCKS. You will be disappointed.
If they ever do refund us I will reply here but over all, even if we get our money back one day, they ruined our trip and was a complete hassle.
(This is my Booking # so they cant reply "we could not find you")

I made a booking, I thought through "Trip advisor" to find it was booked through https://www.cancelon.com. What I thought was the rate and booking I set up with Trip Advisor was 2 rooms with 2 adults each. The confirmation from CancelOn showed 2 rooms 2 adults. When I immediately called CancelOn for clairification I was told 1 adults only per room. To add two more adults to the reservation resulted in close to doubling the cost advertized with Trip Advisor, To cancel at that time would result in a $220.00 fee. Absolutely ridiculous, After some discussion with the nice representive and his discussion with his supervisor, the fee was reduced to $110. This is still too much for a 15 minute transaction that was deceiving from the beginning. I would advise people to avoid offers from Trip Advisor and do not allow CancelOn to make the bookings.

These people are unbelievably incompetent. They sent me a confirmation email for a hotel room that I prepaid for, only for me to arrive at the hotel and the clerk tell me they didn't have a reservation for me. Cancelon booked me at the wrong (but cheaper, and crappier) hotel, 12 miles away, and they wanted me to drive across town because they messed up. It took them 2 hours of me waiting in the hotel lobby from 9-11 PM with my baby and wife to get a room. They offered me a 30% discount. I called after my trip and they told me that offer is "no longer valid." DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE PEOPLE.
Dear Caleb, we apologize for the inconvenience you caused with your reservation at the hotel. We would like to remind you that as per our final conversation, you denied 30% discount with an alternate hotel and wanted us to book an original hotel for you. Please note we already compensated for the error by making a direct booking for you at a higher price of which you were also aware and do not hesitate to contact us for any assistance here: https://www.cancelon.com/contact. Kind regards, Antonio
Booked a room at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas through CancelOn.com. Apparently, CancelOn.com has such a low standing with the hotel, that when we arrived at the Venetian, the hotel tried to assign us to a different ( cheaper) hotel.
Furthermore, I booked and pre-paid a two-bed suite through CancelOn. Coms website and only received a one-bed suite. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU BOOK ELSEWHERE!
Dear Rick R., we apologize for the inconvenience you caused with your reservation at the hotel. Thank you for sharing your experience on Sitejabber. After getting in touch with their customer service and involving the hotel staff. Cancelon ended up paying the difference. I ended up paying the fare that I agreed with cancelon. I am glad their customer service took care of the matter but I wouldn't pray even for my enemies to go through such an experience when booking a vacation.
Dear Ali, first, allow me to apologize on behalf of everyone here. We love what we do and we want for every customer to have the best possible experience. I booked 2 a day stay in New Orleans using this website. Firstly, the hotel had no record of the booking until I spent many hours with the customer service rep over multiple phone calls. Per my discussion with their teams the rooms were already paid for and I only had to pay for my expenses. I stayed there for 2 days then checked out clearing whatever balance I had (my receipt mentions balance $0.00). Two months later, I was billed ~$1000 from my hotel's credit department mentioning that the third party had refused to pay them. I ended up being charged twice for these rooms, by Cancelon as well as the hotel I stayed with. Upon calling my Bank, the hotel and Cancelon. It appears they will/can not do anything to reverse this and I am ending up paying the full price twice for the rooms.
