While a few customers noted positive interactions with individual staff members, these instances are overshadowed by widespread dissatisfaction with sales tactics and unresolved complaints. Bought a new Thor freedom elite 2017 toilet bad had to take in twice had over a month. Then furnace was not connected one time visit. Hot water tank no hot water three times in. Vent seals water all over still waiting for parts second time in. Cable does not work in three times and gave up. Shorting out lights over table. Camping world in Rossford Ohio is a joke.
Never ever going to buy another camper from this place. They had our camper for 3 weeks and never did a damn thing. They were supposed to fix 3 things that was it and couldnt even do that. We got our camping back with the new parts inside our camper still in the box after we paid for it to be put on. Then they had the nerve to ask us to come back the same day to get it done after they had it for 3 weeks. Hell no will not let them touch our camper again and will never buy another from CAMPING WORLD IN MADISON...
We bought our 5th wheel last September from Camping World, Davenport, IA. We were involved in an accident this winter on our way home from Texas and the camper was damaged on front corner. We took it in for the estimate and to get started ordering parts, etc. the 3rd week of March. One excuse after another and it's now 3rd week of June and just told one of the parts wasn't right so had to reorder and now not expected to arrive until end of next week so don't know when we are ever getting camper back. These weren't even major damage. Two doors to under storage bays and one awning arm broken. Half the summer is going to be gone and we have no camper to use. This type of service is unacceptable. They are more than happy to sell you a camper but then you are at their mercy if you need repairs. We will never buy from here again.
The sales and service were both good. They even delivered the camper to us which I thought was above and beyond. Getting financed and sitting there for 4 hours was not good. The manager was awesome but the financing in my opinion was very pushy on products that were not needed and did not like that at all. Camper is what we were wanting works good and happy with the purchase.
Our experience finding what we wanted and within budget was made possible by a fantastic salesman, Alan Love. We couldn't ask for a better guy who helped make this purchase a more pleasant experience after a few bumps in the road were crossed. Great guy, great salesman...
My wife and I bought a 2016 27 RLS Avenger. Camping world of Georgetown, Ky is primarily a Jayco dealer. Therefore our Primetime is not a priority for them it seems. We are still awaiting our paperwork for our warranty, after 2 months. The stabilizer bar snapped out of position while still in their lot. They professed to fix it, we towe'd our "new camper" 75 miles to our campsite. When we turned into the campground "POP" The stabilizer bar slipped again, very unsafe! My first few phone calls were basically ignored. I was finally able to talk to Jeff, service manager. He assured me that help would be on it's way. That was 2 months ago. I can't even take it back to Georgetown to get it "fixed". I would NOT recommend Campingworld.
Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Ordered a $2,000 tow dolly and paid 200.00 freight to have it delivered. I needed this item by a reasonable date. After 2 weeks of waiting and calling them 5 times in which they never called me back. They canceled the order and didn't even have the courtesy to call me. We will never buy anything from this company again.
We traded in an old damaged camper for a used camper last month. First thing that pissed us off was that we had left a tool in the old camper to take the wheel chaulks off with and it went "missing." They just said "Sorry." With the "new" camper we were told the camper was cleaned but underneath the stove and the sink were a ton of old mouse/rat poop (thankfully no signs of the creatures still). We wanted to PAY them to do a scrape and seal on the roof, the maintenance person said they had already done it, once we finally got up there we found out it hadn't been done. And at one point they had the awning out (I'm sure to do an inspection) and didn't inform us that the awning had broken away from the camper and the wood underneath the one arm is rotting, PLUS they rolled it up wet so when we opened it water poured out and the entire thing is filled with mold/mildew. We were warned they weren't the best to work with, and we had hoped since the sales person seemed awesome that we would have a good experience, but it seems not. This was Wentzville, MO.
Purchased our Fox River 27' RV last May from Camping World. I've had 5 cadillacs and still use the same dealership because of their service. Camping World has the WORSE service I've ever experienced! We are going to have to trade in, although we will take a loss, because we simply cant take dealing with them.
Called and emailed Monday to schedule service. Still under factory warranty. Rep finally called back today to say we could brin in 5/25! Almost another month! This is unheard of.
In addition, their CEO is on Facebook stating that if you are a Trump supporter, he does not want your business. WishI would have known that last May.
These people are selfdestructing.
I bought a brand new Heartland Mallard M185 from Camping World on Berkley Massachusetts. The brand new camper had a bunch of initial quality issues. Too many to mention here, but the game changer was the leaking roof. Yes, a brand new camper has a roof that leaks! Thought I was just unlucky and had to fight with Camping World of Berkley to get a replacement. I took receipt of another brand new Heartland Mallard M185 and that roof leaks too! Camping World of Berkley now wants nothing to do with standing behind a product they sell. Buyer beware! These are junk campers and Camping World cares nothing about you after they make a sale.
I ordered a convection toaster oven with rotisarie. Had to pay shipping. What i received was a pain toaster oven competely different of what the discription online was. I called customer service immediatly. She twisted my words around to i said i dont like the product. But i expained that it is not was i ordered. She couldnt help me and said someone will contact me by email. I ask tomto to someone and she said thats not possible and not the way it works. Long story short no answer after a whole week and when i called back and ask for a superviser i got told to call back in 2 hours. After i called then got told superviser doesnt want to talk to me and might call back... never happened. And when i said i want a return lable they told me i have to pay for it
I tried to explain it is not my fault they sent the wrong product. And found out later that this was the only choice available and that the online discription was wrong and misleading. They refunded the money for the toaster oven but not my shipping cost. That i really bad practice and customer service
Purchased a Thomas Paine tri-fold sofa, delivered on time but missing parts and no instructions on assembly due to being shipped in sections. Called camping world to let them know that there was no instructions and missing parts. They contacted the distributor but the distributor could not find any order # for the parts called camping world again and customer service could not find the sofa on their website even though I told them that I found it myself but their item number did not match the item number on their website, customer service could not figure out or even solve my problem of no manual or paperwork and missing parts, they said I am pretty much on my own. So that is why only two stars the sofa is nice, Oh one other thing, the website advertises different sizes I ordered a 68" and the actual length is 65" I brought this to customer service attention an again no explatation they did not know or was able to explain why the deminisions were not as advertised. So again customer service is the pits, they are not very familar with the producrs they sell.
If it were possible... I'd give it a half of a star just for a decent product selection. -4.5 stars for customer service.
Considering the fact that we have been looking for a camper for quite some time perhaps it isn't fair to be a knowledgeable customer... who also is prepared to negotiate knowing all there is possible to know about our future purchase... but I believe its fair to warn those who aren't or new to considering purchasing such a large investment such as a RV.
My husband and I were very disappointed in our experience due to multiple reasons. First, we were being treated as if what we researched was not of any merit in regards to variation of pricing from one store to another. Due to camping world being a large nationwide company we looking around to compare prices as any consumer would do, and should be encouraged to do. We found discrepancies of different prices ranging from $40,000 to as low as $26,999 with the possibility of "unlocking" their best price/offer. When we asked if they would honor the lowest price we were told that "there must be something wrong " with the cheapest one we found (and we found quite a few of them scattered around the states). We finally settled on the amount (even though 3 grand higher than other locations) if they would include different seating (valued at currently $1400)that would've totally made the purchase worth it... and the salesman asked if we "really are going to buy it". By that point he was SUPPOSED TO have called the other location to see if they could check the dimensions of the currently installed couch to see if the couch would fit, and ask their own mechanics for the cost of installation (that we offered to pay). When my husband called back (after waiting for a call from the store) he had not done either of the items he said he would do.
Second, my husbands personal space was violated along with the gentleman (salesman who finalizes numbers sitting upstairs) simultaneously raising his voice as some scare or intimidation tactic. At that point we realized we were not interested in doing business with a company that instills this type of customer service and these types of negotiating styles.
Ordered on line. What I received was not what I very specifically ordered. Customer service tried to convince me that which recieved was what I ordered even though what I recieved was not what was pictures in their website and would not work for me.
They said that they would have someone contact me in 48 hours. Never happened.
The Camping World of Tampa Sales department pouched a product in us knowing very well that it has a bad reputation for poor quality control, poor engineering, and careless standers of assembly. The CAMPING WORLD OF TAMPA SERVICE DEPARTMENT I is awful. It has bad customer service, dysfunctional, and unprofessional. We had to wait ALL day for the service rep to tell us the we had to come back when the work was approved by Thor warranty. After coming back two o three time for the same problem the problem had to be addressed again. Many times our calls did not get returned. They made us feel like we where doing something bad by coming in with so many things wrong with our unit. 21 problems with our 2017 new Thor Freedom Elite 23H. Some major (like the waist station installed wrong from factory to the floor boards inside the house rotting form rain water coming in when on the road from the driver's side back wheel-well).
Don't believe their hype about Good Sam membership!
The $25 dollar certificate is BS, you get a certificate that you have to use within two month, and sometimes you never receive the certificate, i have called 3 times and almost 6 month later i receive one certificate, still waiting on my second one. You cannot use the certificate online, Camping World has no place for you to enter the certificate, they only have an entry for gift cards. So why don't they give you a gift card instead of a certificate? Good question,,, the reason is to make it difficult for you to use it, that way they get away with you never using your $25. Beware its all BS!
It all began back in October of 2017. We took the camper in for service because one of the slides was sticking and the tanks wouldn't empty completely. There were a few other minor issues as well, even though the camper is only about three years old. From October to January, we were given the run-around regarding repairs. We were told the repairs were being done, then that they were waiting for parts, then that the part were delivered, then that they were installing said parts, only to hear again, that they parts hadn't come in yet. This is the Hope Mills NC location. In December, we began contacting corporate because there was not only a lack of communication (they stopped responding to our phone calls) but the information was consistently inconsistent. 95 days later, after our daughter wrote a blog and began a Twitter campaign, we were told the camper was ready for pick up. We found out that same day that the lines were frozen, to which they tried to blame us for it, but the camper had been sitting on their lot for the past three months and five days and it was still mid-80's in temperature here when we'd originally dropped it off. Not to mention, they'd been instructed both by corporate and my husband to make sure the lines and tanks were drained because severe cold weather was on the way. They asked us to bring the camper back so that they could make sure there was no damage from their failure and informed us that the faucets and the washing machine unit were damaged from the bursting lines, as well as there was a water leak from the lines in the master bedroom. Two weeks and one day later, we pick the camper back up only to find that the service department had failed to secure the washing machine unit onto the shelf in the master bedroom closet. The washer is now damaged beyond repair and we're waiting on word from Camping World as to how they're planning to fix this. Do not use this company. You can read about our experience further at http://loriannrobinson.blogspot.com/
Camping World of Dothan Alabama had our 2016 Heartland Gateway fifth wheel for 9 months with a list of 20 things to repair. The major problems were not fixed just patched over. Over the patch we have mold and rotting wood. Do not use Camping World! Customer service was awful. They would never call us back we had to call them several times in one day or several times in one week to get an update on the service to the RV. Now the warranty has expired while they were keeping it for 9 months. Camping World tells us that we have to get Heartland to pay for any repairs now. Heartland says since it was poor workmanship Camping World needs to pay for the repairs. Camping World refuses to make the repairs that they did poorly or just failed to do. Now we are in a bind with a camper that leaks and has mold.
I placed a multi-thousand dollar order on campingworld.com for an in-stock item. My credit card was charged immediately, and cleared the bank just fine. The day my order should have arrived, and a date the order certainly should have been in transit, nothing seemed to be happening. I called customer service, and the agent confirmed there was a hold on the order, and that I'd be called shortly. Hours later, no call. So I call back, and ask about the order, and I'm told the folks that I need to speak with "can't" speak with me now. I asked, you mean they "won't" speak with me now, and the agent said they were busy. Busy doing what? Clearly not shipping my order.
There is now no way on earth the product can arrive before I need it.
How disappointing.
I'm going to cancel the order and just buy locally or on Amazon who knows how to run a web-based business.
I stopped into a Camping World store (had to get there early as they close at 5 for the winter hours). I needed a water pump and the associate talked me into getting the GoodSam club membership in order to save money on the water pump. That night I went to put the pump in and the one I had started working again so I went to take the new one back. The sales associate said the GoodSam club membership was non refundable. I told him that I didn't even have it for 24 hrs. And I didn't activate it online. I wasn't told when I purchased it that it was non refundable. He wouldn't budge so that is why I am giving them a one star review.
Answer: Honestly, the more I look to find answers on Camping world, the more negative reviews I see, had an RV dropped off a Forklift while I was signing papers! Try to beat that! New RV and dropped off a forklift. Worse yet, the corporate managers DID NOT WANT TO MAKE IT RIGHT, that folks is the legit truth! It's one thing for accidents to happen, it's another to not make things right, bad management!
Answer: Yes I have emails to show. That I have been promised a refund waiting this line I expect a full refund and the run around is with it. If would like I can forwarded you the emails and you can ask where's my check.
Answer: Terrible - didn't seem to care and basically told me I was on my own
Answer: The people at camping world will tell you that they will call you. BULL! They never called me, so I tried calling them FIVE times! Not one return call. Not very reputable!
Answer: Just keep writing letters to all of the local politicians.
